Yes, it is fun hearing people say that the gloating tone they used in an email was not how they actually felt. I don't believe them though.
He's very confident that he has nothing to answer. As the chairman he should have been aware of what was going on in the company that he was the chair of. He is as crafty and guilty as all the rest. How much was he earning for his one and a half days work.

Because remote access was possible it isn't even clear that anything was stolen in branches at all. But money was diverted back to the Post Office...

Yes exactly, like the Horizon system reports that didn’t accurately reflect the postmasters actions. Didn’t stop POL from taking them at face value.
