I`ve said it once and I`ll say it again: make Alan Bates chairman of the Post Office and let him sort it out speedily and correctly.

The tories are never slow giving tax payers money to themself and greasing the wheels of doners, corrupt does'nt come into things need a new word for this underworld of crooks.

The average UK salary is £33,000. Nick Read earns well over 10x what the average worker earns. These people need to realise how financially privileged they actually are. Their ridiculous entitlement is an embarrassment to themselves.

I'm still hoping that some portion of 'compensation' due to the SPM should come from the prosecution these people. They knowingly sent innocent people to prison and then rewarded themselves with huge pay packages, share options, lavish expense accounts, bonuses, golden parachutes, pensions etc. In a normal decent society, criminals aren't allowed to keep the proceeds of their crime. It should all be clawed back and given to the SPM.

It's his choice whether he's happy with that or not. A cheif exec of a large organsiation can earn more than that, so it's not ridiculous for him to want more, in his position.

Such a "cheif" would be running a competitive "organsiation". Post Office Limited is not such a company. It is a monopoly and reaches into the pockets of taxpayers whenever it finds itself (despite that monopoly) "short" (as it does now, having miscalculated what it could get away with when dealing with postmasters).

Staunton was Chairman. Reid was CEO. The CEO runs the business, Chair runs the strategy and Board.

What a measured young man, moderate and insightful. Clearly too good for the current management at PO. They seem like a pack of spoilt squabbling babies. Let us all keep pushing for a speedy fair outcome for postmasters and post😅mistresses

Is there any prospect of Tony Blair being called,seeing that he signed off the Horizon system,knowing full well it was already a clunker.He signed it off even though Harriette Harperson told him so?

You couldn’t make it up could you. We had senior personnel saying Staunton was not fit for the job when others were all about the scandal. Then we are told the ceo had an 80 page personnel report on him. By HR. and that he wanted more money, so it was ceo not Staunton under review. What a load of scheming. Twerps all making a new mess of the compensation scheme and Badenok bad mouthing and calling Staunton a liar. How can anyone have any trust in getting their fair restitution when there is such a mess and solittle has been achieved Staunton claim of delay is as plain as day that’s what is going on. The Board will no doubt be applauded for covering up the truth and probably get bonuses. What a snake pit the dominant players are. Who is head of all this ? Who is supposed to be driving the thing forward because they. Should be fired and let Mr Bates be in charge,he would get it done I am sure.

the post office victims should be paid compensation as soon as possable. but do people know the familys of hillsborogh have not been paid compensation yet.also its been reported that post office claims will be in the range of £ 500.000. the hillsborogh victims are getting . £ 50. 000. a life.

This really should be done and dusted. The sub post people should have been payed their rightful compensation tax free. Aand those responsible for the mess should be on trial for their crimes.

Its a classic case of Do unto him (Staunton) before he does unto you (KB). This is normal in politics and the public sector to try and protect your reputation. Throw lots of dirt and some will stick.

An excellent assessment of the state of affairs at the Post Office given by a young man who, like many other former sub postmasters, is still awaiting a full and fair compensation package. Even now, after the scandal is held up in the public gaze, the Post Office continues to be avaisive and devious indicating that the toxic culture at the top of Post Office senior management continues to flourish shamelessly to the detriment of those who were treated so badly by them.

Good people own up to their faults. Corrupt psychopaths lie!

No-one has to 'swear on the Bible' or any other religious text. As in a court of law, there is the option of 'affirming, which a large number of witness availed themselves of. Many POL staff witnesses took the religious oath, and then told little else but lies.

All the post office management top to down had contracts to do their jobs efficiently with a duty of care to its employees and now they do not remember anything ! Lies lies lies ! WISH Tessa Dulop would change her career, Harry is a danger & threat to himself, he's a grown man who needs to take responsibility for himself & his own behaviour, Harry chose to leave he wasn't thrown out & No the British Taxpayer should not pay Harry's security, maybe William didn't go due to Andrew planning to lead the family which he should not have done.
