You guys are the only channel going into this much depth and comprehensive detail inside the engineering background of such vehicles. It's a tough segment, because as much as I and others appreciate it, it's not what always grabs the populace. Nobody compares. Thanks for doing what you do.

8:47 Amazing that this switch to double wishbone front suspension was proved possible by a student working on his master’s thesis and without it, we’d probably still be waiting. What an inspiration for young engineers. Don’t think you can’t have an impact in a big company just because you’re young and don’t have the experience yet. Good ideas stand on their own merits.

I would say Porsche are the exception, rather than the rule, to the notion of interns getting credit for ground-breaking ideas. U.S. Darwinian business culture would either have the intern’s idea laughed off, or if implemented, stolen by a higher-up executive who would be compensated accordingly.

The technical details you guys show us about the cars you review, and the insights about why the manufacturers chose to go that way, are especially relevant here as we motorheads try to understand where the GT3 belongs in the Pantheon of great sports cars. The answer proves to be complex but you two never pander or pontificate: You just call it as you see it.

The production on these videos absolutely destroys anything TV has to offer. and your insights and delivery are simply flawless. Adore this channel. Also... imagine being that student who's thesis was used to build the front suspension of the GT3. Now *that* is something to put on the CV oml.

Having lived in Germany, it didn't surprise me to learn that an engineer had done a master's thesis on the porsche suspension arrangements. They are very inventive people

Pretty much describes ALL Porsches. That’s what makes them so special-even their SUVs. This one is just on another level!

This is amazing work guys! Absolutely one of your best videos. Extremely ambitious. You’ve really developed a huge amount of skill over the years. This video just flows.

The fact that you were able to involve both Preuninger and Walliser into this film contributes to making this your finest work to date. Congratulations!

The best documentary ever. From the LFA to the Miata series, you continue to outdo yourselves, SGMark and SGJack.

I've been lucky enough to drive a few GT3's. I took a buddy's 997 GT3 RS out on track for some fun, I've had race day fun with the 991.1 GT3 RS at Las Vegas speedway, and I've gotten to drive the 991.2 GT3 touring version on the street in the hills. They're absolutely glorious cars. If you're a true driving enthusiast, it is hard to hate on Porsche.

Your production value is unparalleled. Between my favorite reviewers, you and Throttle House knock it out of park in terms of production. Are you sick of reviewing all the 911s yet?

Honestly after parts 2 and 3 come out of this series you wont see a 911 video for a long long time. Part 2 is 991 gt3s and 3 is cup car.

Dears, this is so far the best video footage you have done. Having Porsche GT Director on the show is something that brings this channel to another level ... Top Gear one. I was never a Porsche fan, until a 992 has arrived or maybe because I'm over 40 years old now and some things you just start to appreciate with age, I don't know. As much as I love them, its the Top Gear/Jeremy Clarckson effect, they changed the industry to a more hollywoodeske entertainment. This is a perfect mix of both.

This is simply one of the best videos relating to cars that's ever been produced on this platform. I can't imagine seeing this level of detail, nuance, and love in any other place. That was a fantastic video. Jacks emotional faces says everything about the car. It just oozes soul in a weird way. Old school and technology finally married in a synchronized way? Dream car for sure.

I’ve never sat in a Porsche but I thoroughly enjoyed watching this film.

Hard to top all of these positive comments. The “information density” of your reviews keeps going up. It’s clear that you have the greatest respect and admiration for this car, and one of the ways you show it is in the production quality of this video. I’m sure the Porsche personnel who took the time with you, on and off camera, feel that their time was well spent. This is one instance where the price of the car, even though very high, does not seem excessive considering what you get.

Great documentary! Thanks to Porsche for providing all the resources and well done to Mark and Jack for the production and time and everything else you put into it. I hope other car companies can see how good this content is and will also offer their resources and support so that you guys can make better content every time. Civic is a bit too small and not exotic enough for my needs, but I am torn between Bugatti and Boeing. Do you happen to know whether there is an Air Force Three? I'm always only hearing One and Two mentioned. ... Maybe they got a Three but don't need it anymore?

I took delivery of my manual Agate gray 992 GT3 Wednesday, two friends sent me your video this morning. Brilliant, instant subscribe. This is a special car.

Porsche is everything Honda aspired to, achieved, and threw away after the '00s. RIP Honda, but this video greatly inspired me to pursue a Porsche GT3.

Amazing leap forward with the double wishbone setup! Wow! Once they figure out how to incorporate it into the rear they will have matched my 89 crx in suspension architecture! :)

This is proper top quality automotive media and calling this a "review" is an understatement. You've done these in the past but this was a new level and I hope for more productions like this one. I loved the car, the research, attention to detail, and the high quality of the finished product. 10/10, liked, favorited, shared - you deserve it, if not more!

Words cannot express how well done this video was, thank you for your hard work, there aren't many channels that offer this level and balance of in depth detail on the engineering behind these gnarly machines with such well done cinematography.

As a mechanical engineer, I love your technical discussions. They are thorough, yet you always make it approachable, and relate it to the driving experience, which is the ultimate goal.

I have watched this video 100 times and each iteration I notice something new. Fantastic work.

17:40 The discussion that follows is really important. The reason why so many modern performance cars want to kill their drivers is due to that low-end torque. It wows on a test drive, but like you say, means you need electronics to keep it manageable. I have no interest in these low-end torque monsters for this exact reason. Give me top end power any day. When I need it, it's available.

That’s a wild torque curve, totally different engine between 2-4k and 5-8.5k. I’m with you on cars that go overboard with low end torque, they’re miserable to daily.

@@dragospahontu there’s no reason you can’t daily a sport car. Hell I do it in Philly where we have god awful roads, dodging pot holes is part of the fun. My point is unless you’re trailing it you’ll be driving on public roads at some point and it’s nice when the low end is tame enough where it’s not a miserable experience to drive. Provided the gearing is set up to keep you in the powerband uptop when you want to go flat out.

The production value of this small channel is on par or better than large budget media groups or TV channels. How a guy with a limited budget can get Mr Preuninger (who, I hope, has his own youtube channel as the automotive engineer who is somehow most suited to appear in front of a camera and does a great job in doing so) and other Porsche employees to relate about their projects just boggles the mind. What a sunday treat. Greetings from Latvia, great work as (almost) always, keep up the spirit.

Wow. This reminds me why I studied engineering in college as a car guy. To sweat the details this much purely in service of driver satisfaction and involvement is incredible to see in 2021. I’d give up drinking the rest of my life to get to work with these Porsche guys.
