@Nick Swanson I think what he may have meant is that Chino isn't known by name but but because he's the singer for deftones. Another point to add is jay-z does nothing with his voice, Chino has been doing things with his vocal chords that should have destroyed them many years ago, yet he's still got it.
Scott’s solo is absolutely mind melting, you can feel the pantera influence and it really feels like the dark version of Steve Vai’s solo on ego death. That little half step down triplet part sends me to space, nothing like it

Personally I don't think it sounds anything like a Pantera solo. Dimebag was obviously one of the best to ever do it but he generally didn't get that chromatic in his solos, whereas this solo is extremely chromatic. It sounds more like some of Periphery's more chromatic solos to me, who I know were a big influence on Polyphia in their early days.
This song needs to be longer. As a deftones and Polyphia fan, I hope Chino does more songs with them in the future

They married each others' styles perfectly, it's a really beautiful collaboration. Eerie as ever with Deftones / Chino Moreno anything, but Polyphia felt natural and they did not oppose his vocals. Instead, they moved out of the way and lay in wait, almost taking the shape of his vocals. It was a showcase of Chino Moreno IMHO, but also a testament to how well they can support (for lack of a better word) a vocalist they do not normally work with.

@tingkagol
Жыл бұрын
I know Melon is just doing his thing, but music reviews these days is such a disservice to music in general. First of all, music is practically free. Gone are the days where you shell out 10-20 dollars for a record that could be potentially bad, hence the true purpose of reviews: to tell you to save your money. That said, it seems all that's left is people's need for validation and in this case, it comes from a guy with a huge musical background who's stingy with his scores. Fair enough if that tickles your fancy, but people need to learn to just like whatever they like and ignore what others think.

I disagree. I think stuff like GOAT, Playing God and Ego Death are some of the best music I've heard in my life and I was really confident : "this doesn't need any singer"
Best vocal guest. Glad polyphia is giving opportunities to up and coming talent

Day 1 of listening to this song everyday for a year
The solo towards the end of this song hits so fucking hard!
chino absolutely killed this, easily one of the best songs on the album
I am literally in tears... That was magnificent. Chino’s ethereal vocals paired with Polyphia’s clean driving Everything is ridiculous… If they did a whole Bloodbath album together and played live I’d probably spontaneously combust 💥🤯💥 … I’d like that. A LOT. A LOT-lot. Make it happen! 🤩🩸

I'm totally addicted to the solo, i just can't stop hearing it. Thank you polyphia, u guys created a masterpiece
this is easily the most sexy, intimidating and fucking kick ass polyphia song I've heard in so long thank you guys I hate to say it but even this has surpassed ego death in my books in terms of overall how much my ears came
Chino's voice is so unique an raw and goes so well with so many songs. I've heard him on songs by so many different bands; lamb of god, Anthony Green (circa survive), an Norma Jean just to name a few an now polyphia. Polyphia. An INSTRUMENTAL band. He's just got THAT voice.
I love how both parties managed to keep their distinctive sound without compromising each other, so fresh yet so familiar, My favorite track The Clays are rock solid Tim is.. Well, Tim Scott is an incredible player, seriously how does one make that kind of distorted guitar lead work with the RnB feel 🤯. It worked perfectly its insane
i almost can't handle how amazing this audible sensation is. i grew up with the deftones. even conned my grandmother into buying around the fur cd for me when it came out while we were on a roadtrip. she didn't enjoy it, or so she claims, but she let the whole cd play for me. one of my best memories ever. chino sounds... just incredible with you guys. this was a gift. thank you polyphia, thank you chino.
After listening to this quite a few times, I think this one might be my favorite from the album. Y’all in the comments are right, a whole album with Chino would be insanely good!… This whole album is fantastic, and I’m sure my favorite will change depending on my moods, and that’s one of the things that makes this album so great. Polyphia made an entire album of singles, and really proved that you can’t put them in a box. They really can do anything… Well, maybe not country music, but I’d be interested to hear them try it, just for shits and giggles lol Edit: I also hope they win a Grammy for this album. They deserve it.
Can y'all just do an entire album with Chino!? Good gravy what a combo ❤❤❤
LePage dropped a biblically accurate guitar solo
Polyphia is a new level of human achievement musically and the visual here is so intensely psychedelic I am in complete awe. How is this music even possible? I thought that I had heard the best of the best music and that it was enough. Polyphia shattered that barrier for me and blew the doors wide open to realize that there is a future to music that is inevitable and will continue pushing the limits and boundaries of human expression. I can't wait....
The solo sounds something like Wes Hauch would write. Amazing stuff!
when world's collide..I love a good Chino feature..deftones easily my fave rock group growing up. 15-20 years later polyphia took that over 🤘🤟❤️🔥

This is a huge departure from what I'm used to hearing from Polyphia, and I am 1000% here for it!
Un álbum con el chino , sin duda suena muy genial y perfecto. Saludos desde Perú a todos . Temon de temones
Whoever mixed this carved out a perfect lane for Chino's vocals. Bravo! Such an amazing track.
Digital Bloodbath by Polyftones! Sounds good
Anyone else get Dimebag Darrell vibes with that solo? That was filthy!! This solo was 10/10! Loved every second of it 🤘

I'm almost certain scottie is taking lessons from Wes Hauch, that's a wes hauch solo 100% Well.. he didn't write it but thats the shit wes is up to these days, freaky af note choice, weird symmetrical runs. Unreal. The fact it's in the lower register too makes it so fucked up in the best way

fitting for Chino, he can sing a song about electrocuting someone in a shower, and make it sounds sexy, cool, and menacing all at the same time.
It's only fitting that Chino Moreno makes an appearance on the album that brings back rap rock in the year 2022
THAT FUCKING SOLO!!!!! 😭😭😭 Beautifully done!
Wasn't super into the new album till the last 2 songs, collab with Chino came like a surprise, but it works so well. And now I wonder why they haven't collabed until now xD
It's awesome seeing the comments section full of support and admiration no matter what direction they're going in. Nothing but appreciation for the talent and confidence to break the mold with every track on this album.
Didn’t think Polyphia could make a song like this, very well done

These guys are reshaping rock music in ways that will be felt for many years
This is my daily wake up joint
This is kinda blowing my mind right now. Not trying to slap labels on here but I hear R&B... with metal 🤯 Not enough artists are being bold enough to break out of the boxes and do things like this so elegantly, and I just love and appreciate it so much. And with Chino and his delicious vocals, no less 😍 Deftones has been one of the pioneers and masters of blending R&B/hip-hop elements in metal imo (though their sound is in a league of its own), so it's fitting having him on here. Glad I found you guys. Keep it up!🤘🏾

Loving this Colab. Chino be complimenting this style hella. This has to be one of your greatest colabs Polyphia. Just my personal opinion.
My absolute favorite polyphia song. That chorus riff is disgusting! And that solo is the best solo I've heard in years. Just electric and so full of personality. I had no idea they could make this kind of music. As a slightly older guy, I was in my teens when Deftones were at their peak. Seeing this marriage is incredible. I hear at least 3 of my favorites in this song. Been on repeat for 3 days now.
Chino is one of my all time favorite vocalists. This was absolutely perfect.
After Playing God and Ego Death, this has to be the best track on the album for me. God damnit Scotty, you outdid yourself here. Also, I never would have guessed they got the vocalist from Deftones on here. That's wild.
This is a masterpiece. Two of my favorite artists together, what more could I ask for??
This must be my favorite thing on the whole album. What a banger, front to back. Love it! ❤️
by far one of my favorite track , you guys with chino are such a good colab !!!
