Even though i knew Vai was coming from the title, this shot still made me really emotional. Much respect to one of the OGs that paved the way for guitar playing to advance the way it did, and so proud of the Polyphia boys for getting to where they to get let a living legend share their proverbial stage. Love everything about this tune and video!

It happened to me once , I was in my home studio playing shit with my archetype plini plugin , my dad , who has always been a bluesy boomer guitarist just stopped for once , and he was interested in the sound of the guitar going through my PC , so I handed it to him , and I made some loops in Ableton, he dropped a damn good riff , took a mic and just blew up some lyrics like if he was beck or something, it was magical We always struggled playing together because we're not very good musicians and he never showed interest in production, and it never happened again , but it happened once , and I'm so grateful for that

@@nighght2789 You realize Vai can shred even better than them, right? Vai can come up with shit like this ON THE SPOT. He's from a different generation. I like how much Steve's parts here actually reflect the title and theme of the song. That's the thing about that style of guitarists. You can find thousands of people who play technical stuff like Polyphia, but nobody but Steve Vai could play what he played and make it sound like it did. Reminds me of guys like Derek Trucks. Derek Trucks is one of a kind, nobody on Earth sounds like him. I think Steve Vai is the same way. He added another facet of character and musicianship that you just never hear on a Polyphia record, which is full of so many vast techniques already.

Im 21 and i just bought my first guitar to learn with. Had my first lesson today, and I know literally nothing. Practicing G, C, and D chords currently.c Steve Vai is the man who inspired me to grab a guitar, and seeing all the covers and musicals that guitarists over the years have made keeps me inspired to play. Wish me luck on my guitar journey, polyphia is fucking awesome.

@@santioliva It was a quote from a John Wayne movie (Rio Bravo), where Wayne complements a young gunslinger who…is so good that he does the truly hard stuff but doesn’t have the thirst for showing off that young men usually have. He doesn’t bother with the easy ways of showing off…he’s too good for that.
