Glad I'm not their Mom, I would have been a lot meaner. Thirty years ago I had a talk with a five year old, on the playground, because he hit my daughter on the head during her first school bus ride. All I did was talk to him and tell him that if he continued that I would have a talk with his parents and unfortunately it worked. But I had no idea how hyperactive this kid was until I saw him a week later at Lowe's and how his parents didn't seem to care what he did and didn't pay him any attention. But that doesn't matter because Mama doesn't play those games. 👵

I think she was just paranoid. Like she said she thought he might've had a gun on him because of the way he was keeping his hand in his pocket. It's funny how she never mentioned their race until the person on the phone asks but they say she called because of that reason. I mean my mom wouldn't drive me to a pride parade once because of the dangerous stuff that happened on the news recently at that time. Mom's can be paranoid and crazy sometimes when they think their children might be in danger.

She didn't bring up their race until the dispatcher asked her, she sounds old enough that her first experience with school shootings was columbine, and with them becoming increasingly common in the states it's somewhat understandable that she'd be a little paranoid by their attire, as it was very similar to the columbine shooters. Was she being dumb and paranoid? Yes of course, she even admits that herself on the call, but I don't think there's enough reason to claim racism here.

My goodness!!! Teenagers have it hard enough these days. And it's not just the Native American people who are targeted buy this kind of racism it's all minority populations that have to endure this. People who think like her need to get some cultural sensitivity training you might just learn something then you can make an educated guess if you are in danger or not. You can't charge people for simply perceiving something as suspicious or threatening, even if that perception is false. If she was lying or making up a story to police, that would be a crime. People suck sometimes, but that doesn't mean we should pass laws giving the government more power, because that ultimately ends working against society as a whole. Passing more laws and creating new crimes should not be the go-to solution for social issues.
