I am a white woman who has been married to a black man for over 20 years and sometimes I am afraid to let him walk on a beautiful day in the park with my daughters in fear that some crazy person will call the police on him and say that he is kidnapping our daughters , especially my eldest daughter who has very white skin, this is ridiculous for any human being.

I am an African American and my youngest sister is mixed and has no African features whatsoever. She has pale white skin, straight brown hair, and blue eyes. Which is where it gets us wondering because her older sister, who is also my sister, has fair skin, brown hair and brown eyes. I get worried sometimes for my dad as well, but he lives in a good, quiet and small town

We once used a gas station to carpool for a concert and bar hopping. We came back to the vehicles 1 time to get some things. When we came at the end of the night to get the cars, SWAT truck pulled up with 5 cruisers and had us all at gunpoint. 2 black guys 1 white guy 1 white girl and 1 latina. Had us face down with gjns pointed at us for 20 minutes. Apparently the gas station clerk called and said we were casing the place for a robbery. Thats all it took to have automatic weapons pointed at us.

Yes. You should have but I understand that you just want to get home and rap your head around what just happened. So I get it. I say that because similar happened to me when I was much younger. I was walking home from the mall on a real nice summer day and had bags in my hands. They asked me where I was coming from and I told them the mall, why? They claimed a woman was robbed, which I am not doubting and I fit the description and I was ordered to get in the car. The drove to me somewhere, had me get out the car and asked the lady was I the perso and she said no. They took me 1 block and had me get out and though I was 1 block away from home, now I was like 20 blocks away. It took me awhile on what just happened and I did not talk about it for years. I had lead a rather sheltered life and never had any interaction with cops at all. As I started to mature I noticed all the bad things cops were doing to mainly Black people then I was also noticing the crimes people were doing to one another. It was all unsettling. I am sorry that happened to you but we both are still alive to tell the story. Think about others who not so lucky.

I don't know what caused them to investigate that situation, other than what we see in this video. But, if people start criticizing every single action we as police officers investigate then some day an officer will see something that needs to be investigated but will fail to do so for fear of criticism.
