To what end? You investigate, on your time and your dime. You find criminal acts. Now what? Gonna tell your mommy and daddy? Gonna tell the police? The prosecutor..... What are you going to do when they all say, " ok, that's your opinion, we will investigate. " What you need is the ability to criminally prosecute criminals so we are all subject to the same laws. Unfortunately, private prosecution is prohibited to the people. So you are left with a civil suit, on your time and your dime, and only if you can overcome qualified immunity. You can investigate like Long Island Audit, For public Safety and That surprise witness, but the best you can do is make it public and hope enough political pressure gets attention. But imagine a victim of a public officer could take their complaints and evidence to a civilian panel of citizens, let's call the panel, a grand jury. And the citizen could present their case to the grand jury. If the jury indicts on criminal charges, let the state pay for the prosecution but let the citizen pick the prosecutor, the strategy and decide whether or not to prosecute. Actual justice for the victim, actual accountability for the police. And the people police the police, we will investigate, charge and prosecute criminals acting in the name of the people. Now the investigation makes sense and has purpose. Qualified Immunity isn't applicable to criminal charges. Cops stop committing blatant crimes because they are actually subject to the same laws. And the people still pay for the criminal prosecution just as they do when prosecuting any other criminal. I think the grand jury idea beats telling mommy and daddy that the mean police officer did wrong. Oh and btw, QI is almost never granted after a criminal conviction so even that doesn't present the same obstacle to justice that it currently presents. Just thoughts.

They honestly believe that they have the right to request ID from anybody, at any time, for any reason, and that by running those IDs, they are making the public safer. They are quietly supported by their political masters who can't admit to that publicly (for fear of being publicly corrected by lawyers and then losing elections), but who continue to support and reward this behavior behind closed doors. BECAUSE they also believe that running as many IDs as possible makes the public safer. This is an education issue, but not just of the Police, but of us as citizens to learn about what freedom is, and what its costs are. Freedom is actually less safe than tyranny. The safest places in the world are the ones with the most tyrannical police: Saudi Arabia, North Korea, Communist China. Keep that in mind when politicians talk about rising crime and "soft on crime" issues. When they say they will get tough on crime, they are saying they won't be protecting your freedoms. Yeah, you actually do have to choose between freedom and security. You'd know that if you paid attention in school.

He was behaving with 99% confidence it was him, he was the threatening call. Then when he learned, of course he wasn't trespassing he still arrested him and cited him for "obstructing". Then the cop had the copdacity to tell the guy if you had just listened (which the guy did) you would have been fine. How do these psychopaths assault and extort an innocent guy who complies while saying "this wouldn't happen if you just complied"? And literally go on to do it again and again.

It's concerning that a blind man was immediately suspected of being the caller of a threat just because he showed up at the Post Office. It would have been helpful if the workers there had spoken up and confirmed that he was not the person they were looking for. Instead, they allowed an innocent blind man to be arrested for simply being present at the post office. It's disappointing that the situation was handled so poorly.

Their families and friends will be so proud that the sergeant and his 5 tyrannical buddies couldn’t handle the law abiding blind man without harassing and abusing him.
