    Yes. People are wasting so much time on formulas they do not need to know for the PMP Exam. This list is simple.

    Hi Aileen, In this video you did not include the Present Value formula. PV= FV/(1 + i)^N. Is this not likely to show up on the exam? Please advise.

    Hello Aileen, I have never seen a practice question asking about # of Communication Channels. Is there an example I can refer to? Thanks!

    You are managing a project with project teams in different geographical locations. There are approximately 25 team members plus a team lead at 3 different locations. Additionally, there are 3 members from a supporting group that are working part time on the project. How many communication channels are possible in your project? A- 496 B- 992 C- 424 D-32 ______________________________________________________________________________ The correct answer is: A This is directly based on the formula n*( n -1 )/2 . If n is the number of stakeholders in the project, the total possible communication channels = n*( n 1 )/2. The project has 25 team members, 3 team leads, 3 support team members, and the project manager. That makes 32 people and 496 possible communication channels. Refer to PMBOK ® Guide Sixth Edition Project Communications Management, Communication Channels, Glossary.

    Hi Aileen, Does your video suggest that these are ONLY the formulas that we should study for the exam? How about the formula for standard deviation (O + P)/6 for example and all the others in the PMBOK?

    Hi. These are the only formulas I would study for the exam. I would expect you will see very little math on your real exam.

    Pls help to understand, what does it mean when you say "assuming you are getting your full EAC".

  • @AileenEllisPMPPgMP

    @AileenEllisPMPPgMP

    EAC stands for estimate at completion. In my words, it is your estimate of what the project will cost, based on what you know now. We will take an example. Your project BAC = $400. After running the project for several days you realize it cost you $200 (AC = $200) to do $100 (EV = $100) worth or work. Now your EAC = $800. You tell your management and they give you the full $800 (including the $400 you started with.). This is what I mean by assuming your are getting your full EAC.

    Hi Aileen, what about Net Present Value, IRR, Benefit-Cost Ratio, Payback Period and EMV (From Risk mgmt)? Should I not worry about those as much? Thx!

    Hi Steve. Thanks for your email. I assume you are preparing for your PMP Exam? Hope my KZread videos are helping you. You may see questions on the exam related to NPV, IRR B/C and Payback period. I would expect though that you will have no calculations related to these topics. I do have sample questions on these topics that do not involve calculations. As far as EMV, yes, you may see a question on this topic on the exam. My view though, is that you need to analyze the question to determine how to solve it. It is not about memorizing an equation. Are you aware I do free live online training for one hour, for the PMP, once per week? If you are interested send me an email at aileen@amegroupinc.com
