PMP Exam Prep 25 What would you do next questions with Aileen

In this video, 25 what would you do next questions for the PMP Exam, Aileen reviews the strategy to address the many what would you do next questions on the PMP Exam.
Aileen helps you determine what answers would come before the question and what answers after.
While the material in these PMP Exam Sample questions do not contradict the PMBOK Guide 6th Edition, Aileen teaches how to get the questions right even if you do not know the processes of the PMBOK Guide.
These questions are likely too difficult for the CAPM Exam.
These questions are representative of some of the question on the current PMP Exam and the new PMP Exam, developed by PMI (the Project Management Institute).

Aileen, thank you SO MUCH for these videos. I have been studying for about 3 months with another prep program which was less than effective (basically read the PMBOK out loud) and I was certain I was going to fail the exam. I found your videos about a week before my test and I am certain they made all the difference - today I passed CAPM on my first attempt above target! If I eventually decide to pursue PMP, you undoubtedly have a customer in me for your full prep class. For others watching these videos, Aileen's approach to reading and answering questions is so helpful when it comes to test day. Thank you again, Aileen!!!

Thank you for making this video! This is probably the best 30 minutes of studying for PMP I have ever spent. The "what comes next" questions have always made me nervous, but now I feel a lot more confident that I actually can process through the multiple choice answers to eliminate those that are incorrect to find the correct answer, just like you teach us in your PMP class.

Aileen, I loved your video. Thank you for preparing and explaining the answers. I am testing February 22, 2020. I just ordered your three books which arrived today (network diagram, EV, and contract calculations) and I can't wait to get these started. I'm honestly very nervous and I feel extremely unprepared and stressed. I hope your books will help. Aileen, can you post a recommendation or a video on what the best way to understand (not memorize) all the ITTOs or perhaps how the logical sequences of what to do next? Your video is excellent. I'm finding myself researching the PMBOK from the correct answer to understand the process(es) mentioned in the question and what the next process should be in the answer and it's quite challenging. It's definitely a learning experience, however, it would help if you were to explain why the answer is correct based as a successor process or predecessor process of a knowledge area. Does that make sense?

Hi. Thank you for your kind words. I am glad you loved this video. I have a few ideas for you. 1. remember that there is hardly any math left on the PMP Exam. So my mini books are helpful, but do not spend too much time studying the math. 2. I have a video here called: earned value analysis with no math. That would be great for the exam. 3. with my book on network diagrams, only practice the easy ones. The question(s) on this topic will be easy on the exam. 4. with the contract book, make sure you understand the different contract types. The math helps us understand these types but don't focus too much on the math here since again, math is not a big topic on the exam. 5. My most important suggestion- it looks like you are testing in just over 2 weeks. If I were you I would subscribe to my online self study program. I believe this program will give you the knowledge and confidence to pass the exam. You would only need the subscription for a month. @@AileenEllisPMPPgMP So I completed a PMTraining course ($995) I have over 1,100 practice test questions. I've gone through 1050 questions and averages about 65% on them. I miss the math questions and the PDM questions mainly because I haven't studied (memorized formulas) these very well; this is why I purchased your books (fantastic ratings). I'm hoping that by studying your books it'll help push me over the 75% pass score that PMTraining suggests that I have on all their practice exams before taking the actual test. I really need help understanding the ITTOS better. How the heck do I memorize these? so that I don't miss too many "what happens next" questions. Does your self-study program addresses help with ITTOs? I'll be honest, I'm really worried about answering the ITTOs questions as i'm not super strong at them. I watched your 25 questions video this morning, but I'm still not super comfortable. Apologies for rambling.

On the question on which is the first document created for the project - shouldn't it be project charter? Because you won't start a project without benefits management plan. Since the question asks about first project document, I believe it should be project charter.

The question on the large sporting event. The answer was D. EVALUATE THE CHANGE REQUEST. Wouldn't it be to send it to the change cobtrol board? As I am reading the process to follow per PMI, first thing to do is to submit the request to change control board. Then is to evaluate the request. Would you please explain? Thank you!

In the question of team members having problem, you mentioned the right answer to be Option D escalate the problem to functional managers. However the question does not mention the type of organization. What if the organization is not matrix type? I believe the best answer is option C - try to move one of the team members off the project (question also mentions that the project manager already tried to work out the difference)

If not stated in the question always consider working in the matrix organization structure, where functional manager handles resources.

Hello! I am a bit confused about one of the last questions. Cost estimates come right before the critical path according to RITAs book. In your video you mention critical path to estimate project duration comes before. Is there something I am missing?

  • @dimitardimov9833

Hello Dimitris. The logic I used was based on the Vargas process chart, where "Develop Schedule" of which the Critical path method is part of the T&T comes before the Estimate Costs process.

  • @ricardosuarez5399

    @ricardosuarez5399

    3 жыл бұрын

Hello Onur, in this case parametric estimation is an estimating technique that can be used for cost estimating and schedule. It could easily mentioned PERT or any other technique. When you determine unit measures, level of accuracy, etc, this is done when you plan cost, after that comes estimating costs.

One of the questions was about the conflict management and suggested answer was (d) escalate to the functional manager; however, the question doesn't specify the type of organization, i.e. Functional, Projectized, etc. Will the answer (b) escalating to program manager (upward) more appropriate in this scenario?

Question regarding procurement, if you have a statement of work doesn't that mean that vendor was already selected and the vendor (worked with the PM) prepared the SOW? That's how it has been done everywhere I worked. Statement of Work meant all the other processes were already done. What if your team is one person, 2 people? How could there automatically be conflict AND it has to happen right after a training and team building event which is meant to bring unity and comfort to “how to do X training”. Again when and why do you manage conflict anywhere in a project lifecycle?
