I think the best thing that Google did so far is that it started building a full ecosystem for itself, that's what Android market needs, Android market doesn't have as good ecosystem as Apple's, and that's what I actually respect in the new releases. Maybe the watch and the buds are expensively priced, maybe also the tablet would be expensive as well compared to the features, but I think as a 1st generation ecosystem that's really good. I'm really excited for the second generation tho!

The whole draw of Android was so one would not be in a “walled garden”. But everyone want to make walled gardens now. Google has their cloud, smart home, educational, and business ecosystems that work really well. They want to have their customers use Pixel for phones and watch for their personal devices, Nest for home automation and security, Chrome and Google cloud for education and business. It’s a different style of walled garden than Apple.
@MahmoudNagy13

@@JasonB808 True that Android was made to be more open, but for simple day to day use you need something that just works well, and that's where Apple is so good, Android Market gives you varieties that doesn't really fit well together, so it's okay to have optional access to some private "walled gardens"
@OGMDr

Tldr: Samsung is Android's walled garden answer. Hopefully Google keeps their hardware offerings open and working seamlessly regardless of the manufacturer. I agree with a lot of the replies here, and would love to add that from an Android perspective, Samsung is that Walled Garden answer. The Samsung ecosystem has been established and is even receiving personalized assistance from Google and Microsoft in their app features. While not as quite as smooth as Apple, Samsung's integration between phone, tablet, and laptop is very decent. Between phone link, and second screen you have similar features that Apple offers while being less intrusive as you can control the level of integration. You also have multi control in case you want to control your tablet (mouse and keyboard input) as an android device and not a second screen while you're using your laptop. All in all, it is not nearly as fluid as Apple's offering currently is (honestly may never be so), but it is quite Android and works well for productivity (when things work as intended).
@manu144x
Жыл бұрын
@@JasonB808 Being more open works if you have a high bar for the app store, which Google did not, it allowed all kinds of subpar apps and Android in time got to have this reputation of chaos and low quality ecosystem. Which is true. Things are slowly moving as Google realize that being cheap won't cut it anymore, people now have high expectation for phones, and they're willing to pay more for that now. Heck, the Samsung Ultra lines are just as expensive or more expensive than their iPhone equivalent. Having open ecosystem is great for power users, but for average joe, sucks to say but they're gonna need a solid walled garden because they won't know what to do with any of the advanced features of Android.

I currently own the Pixel 6 Pro, and I'm one of the few who hasn't experienced too much issues with the phone, it may not be as refined as Ultra 22, or iPhone, and the battery life could be better. Wish the Pro had matte aluminium trip as opposed to the shiny. Preordered the Pixel Watch with LTE through Fi. Being on Fi since before the Pixel days I missed the other Google "supported" LTE watch being the LG Watch Sport. I'm upgrading to the pixel watch from the OG Fitbit Versa Signature Edition (it was the first smartwatch released by them that had credit card payment support.) I still love what I had, but the internal battery is shot and its clock isn't fixable. (Which is a big deal for a watch, damn near useless when it can't tell time.) I'm getting the WiFi version because only Bell and Telus support the 4G version, I'm with Rogers so I'm out of luck there. Either way, I'm extremely excited to receive my watch when it arrives at my house this Friday.

I go back and forth, currently on a 14PM but go back to the Nexus 4 and always enjoyed both ecosystems ... I like the Pixel, however there's always been a some sort of compromise, that you simply don't have as often with Samsung and Apple. I'm rooting for them too, I'd really like to go back to Android, but Google FINALLY allowing KZread PIP on iOS, combined with the camera (their video stabilization is insane), along with battery life and now brighter display, it's hard to make the switch. This anti-blur feature sounds promising though. That could be extremely useful, but we'll see. Hopefully this year there's no sacrifice!!

Hi Marques, are you going to do a review or something similar on the Moto G72?
The Pixel 7 is looking like a huge success man. Just consider the amount of technology already in the phone with ram and memory, then you have the ultimate camera and software, and then HOPEFULLY the software is optimized to be as smooth as Apple plus it's an Android which means all the freedom in the world. This is the first time I'm thinking of actually spending more money on a phone than simply going with budget 200 dollar phones.
The Google phones are definitely the definition of Android smartphones. They are on the right track, and I'm a fan. Can't wait to see what their other new phones in a few year. As an Android fan, I would love to get one for myself in the future.

Nope, Pixel specs haven't caught my attention. Battery is bad, charging slow, software bugs, if I'm correct it doesn't have 10 bit display? Google is not a small company but they can't even match current technology. 8T 120hz, 65watt, 12gb ram 256gb rom 10 bit, better 🔋. Released over 2 years ago. Now that's the definition of android.
@khaiphamba5991

@@fynkozari9271 What you said is not wrong. Pixel series so far have not been on par with other Android flagship in terms of specs, battery and build quality. And yes, the latest Android OS, though a big leap in terms of appearance and functionality, is still riddled with bugs on the Pixel. BUT, and this is a big but 🍑, Google is still the mother of Android. Now that they have made they own smartphones, it is reasonable to believe that these devices should be optimized to work well with Android (theoretically), just like iPhone with iOS. Keep in mind that the Pixel 7 line is just the 2nd generation that bears the new Android OS, so it is still early. Give them some time, I think Google knows what to do. I think the future Pixels will be much better.

I wonder if any company could invent a method of charging smartwatches where a portable battery attaches magnetically to the front of a watch, even with its own screen. It’d make it super thick while used, but means it can still be worn while charging.
You guys are getting your comedy game spot on. Love this one and the challenges on the Studio, too.
As expected from Marques great vid as usual!
The biggest problem google has is their phones are too well made. Still running on pixel 4xl and I love it. At one point I thought I had only owned it for a year but it was two by then. No other phone has that quality, and iphone is the exact opposite. They throttle old phones down with updates, where as the current speed/battery life of this phone is still 95% of day one. I'm also only saying 95 because it could be slightly different but honestly I don't notice a difference at all since unboxing. I find it hard to justify upgrading other than I love all the features these phones have!
