I pre-ordered the Google Pixel 6a with the Series A earbuds that I narrowly chose over the Nothing Phone (1), and I use the Fossil Gen 5e smartwatch and the Fossil Hybrid Retro Pilot with a strong preference for the latter. You mentioned missing Apple’s MagSafe on non-Apple phones, this will be coming to Android by the end of 2023 with Qi2. I have been using Android since 2015 having switched from the awful iPhone 5C and the brilliant iPhone 3GS before that (it still works in 2023), and I have used some of the worst phones from the likes of LG and HMD Global using the Nokia name. Over that time frame, reliability has been lacking with Android seeing inconsistent software updates and quick abandonment by the OEM. Pixel has been the first experience for me where this hasn’t been an issue and some other reviewers and tech commentators refer to it as the “iPhone of Android”. Pixel is like a fine wine, and as it gets older, it just seems to get better and better.

Great video 😀 Been on iOS for the last 8 years (previously on Android), but I’m thinking of switching back to Android when the Samsung Galaxy S23 comes out. At least on Android you can change the settings within an app whilst using, which is ace and user friendly whereas on iOS, you have to exit the app in order to change the settings, which is such a strange move from Apple.

I recently upgraded from my old iPhone 11 to the Pixel 7 Pro after some time of looking at the iPhone 14 Pro. Ultimatly I switched because the Pixel 7 Pro was cheaper! Cheaper per month and more data for that cheaper cost even when compared with my then current iPhone 11 deal. I also found the 14 Pro uninspiring, it was more of the same with a few tweeks and in a slightly shinier package. 7 pro on the other hand gave me everything I needed and more and so far it's showing itself to be a belting phone which should have Apple and Samsung looking over their shoulders.

With the copy and pase from your laptop to phone there is an app on windows called phone link. I use the app daily on my windows laptop and my Samsung phone. I am not sure if it available for Google devices but I don't see why it wouldn't. The setup was easy and it allows me to have all my phone calls and text messages on my laptop. It is all done through Bluetooth, so when connected I can make phone calls and send texts without using my phone. You can also mirror your phone screen to your laptop, along with all your notifications coming through to your laptop as well. Its a really handy app. It even shows your recent photos and videos took with your phone.

I definitely think the Huawei Watch GT 3 is wrongfully over looked all the time, the thing is a beast, I have been using it for about 8 months now, no issues, battery easily lasts about a week and that is with 2-3 hours of physical activity tracking 5 times a week. And for around £150 it is so much for your money. The only downside for it is that not too many apps have the automatic integration, like you can not link it to your google fit app etc, but otherwise I really would recommend you checking it out, and letting us know how it compares to the Apple watch.

You don't need to use portrait mode with Pixel 6 on. The sensor is big enough to do the work "naturally" rather than using a setting to artificially impose bokeh. I never use it anymore after upgrading from pixel 4xl to pixel 6pro and I am getting much better results. Try turning it off. Also, I use my pixel watch normally. Passive fitness tracking, google assistant, media control, some complicaitons and a handfull of panels or whatever they are called that you can swipe left or right from the homescreen...I get loads of notifications over night and I could possibly go at least a day and a half on a charge. It depends on how busy I was that day but I have never once run out of battery and usually go to bed with around at least 30 - 40 percent. Everyone's use case and experience is different I guess. I enjoyed this video. Thanks for making it! Hope you stay with the pixel! You can help us get the word out and make it better!

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max (8 months for now), and just getting to know the Apple ecosystem of how simple it is to just back up your entire phone and restore it in a single button press, that really sold it for me, but honestly, that's only really impacted me when I was working for a big cellphone service company/store, customers would come in, and I would do these backups and restores on a daily basis and seeing how easy it was it really did WOW'd me, coming from a lifelong android usage timeline, I was amazed, but honestly I haven't found myself doing a backup and restore for me at all... that has killed the mood a bit, I also bought the phone because of performance (Gaming, video editing, etc., etc.) and that's where it really it stands out, you get a lot of power also, and the cameras are just outstanding, I also liked it in the beginning for the weight and the feel of it, I like big displays, but was more of how sturdy it felt... and now that's been fading away a little bit, I have actually found it to be a bit intrusive size wise and quite heavy now... sometimes when I'm laying down on bed and have my phone looking downwards gravity doesn't help that much... So I want to make the switch for the Pixel 7 Pro, will potentially get the 8 Pro, but I'm a bit impatient and can't really wait for a couple of months, as I want the change to happen now.

How many times i found myself with new apps they pushed on my devices i didn't request ? or an update that pushed unremovable apps from Google onto my phone... The last straw was getting policy updates every week and having to press accept or read the wall of text and still no option to decline the new policy. Too many malware apps on the Google play store and after adding my credit card KZread charged $350 from my card to view ads free... which i didn't even accept but according to Google i did accept the trial popup some few weeks ago and by accepting that i accepted to subscribe to their service...

I used the 7 Pro for a month and was pretty happy to get back to my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Apple's camera is very underrated - the ProRes video is incredible - and it's far more powerful and stable than the Pixel. I'm eager to see if Google can improve the phone's performance in the 8 Pro, because this was one was pretty bad compared to the iPhone. As for the iPhone being mundane -- you have to understand Apple's design principles: make the phone easy to use, and hide the power features -- but the features are there for you when you need them.

That's why I'm here. Just traded someone my apple watch and unlocked iphone 12 for a Pixel 7 Pro. One of the main reasons why I'm switching is I can't afford Iphones anymore. I refused to do one of these ridiculous payment plans. For an Iphone 14 pro, you're gonna pay between $700 and $900 for one second hand. The pixel 7 pro is running around $300-$400 second hand. It's been almost 10 years since I've had an android device and I'm honestly blown away by it. Android has come a long way since my HTC One. Having said that, there are some things that apple does better. It took three attempts to pair my pixel watch with the 7 pro, not to mention other little glitches that just aren't there with apple products. Apple just isn't as exciting and cutting edge as it once was. AR Glasses? what a joke.

Few customizations. Just didn't want to pay the asking price for the samsung s23 ultra (i love the spen). Samsung not update Note 10 anymore or I would have bought another one. Got my fingers crossed trying pixel.

Sir I also got a Pixel 6a been holding an iPhone 11 since launch. Got it not because ios is worse -it's actually the best but thr reason was I was bored of no excitement in the UI features etc. And boy o boy animation's smoothness consistency is way way more consistent on iOS even if it's 60hz. But yes been enjoying android as well at least there is some fresh air. Been using and modding android since late 2011

I got the Pixel 6 as soon as it came out and then I waited to see more about the Pixel watch. I was instantly disappointed by the fragile look of the watch and instead bought an Amazing T-Rex Pro. I think it looks better and definitely has better battery life. I get notifications/texts to my watch, it tracks my fitness/sleep and lasts for over 4 days before needing a recharge. Plus, it is less money.

I fully charge the Pixel Watch before going to bed. Then I wear it overnight until the next evening where I put it back on the charging station around 11 / 11.30 pm with something like 20-25% batterie left... So I'm surprised that your battery is completely dead so often ... I minimized the notifications on the watch to the most necessary apps, because I don't need every notification of every app on the watch like on my smartphone. Maybe that's the difference.

@@PeteMatheson AOD is off yes. I only use tilt to wake. And the nightmode while sleep tracking. At the end of the day it doesn't really matter if I have 25% or 5% left on the batterie, because I have to charge it before sleeping anyway. Maybe they improve battery life with the second gen Pixel watch, so it lasts 2 days. But the charging before bed became a routine which doesn't really bother me that much.
