There's another rendition of this on YT where both the orchestra and the audience looked like they were going to fall asleep. Don't ask me how!! Only the conductor looked like he was having a good time.

Theres this one korean concertmaster of this symphony and shes way more energetic and enthusiastic than her fellow musicians 😂 unfortunately shes not in this event

Davy Jones Song is actually a perfect portrayal of his emotional journey. Unfulfilled but upright and honest love, the sadness, then the desperation, the opening abyss of despair, until it turns into something aggressive, then cruel; and in progress of the song even culminating in its cruelty, that you wouldnt expect; but this pain.. is always present. An this hurt feeling is the theme that survives until the end and it is the last emotion, the last memory that he feels when he dies. And only that feeling. His love for Her is stronger than his desolation. This is masterfully composed and played.

Davy Jones.... I swear it gave me goosebumps, it's one of the most impressive soundtracks I've ever heard in my life. "Davy Jones theme music" is not something we generally see in orchestras. But here they developed a very wonderful and original idea and succeeded. I can listen to this song all my life without getting tired of it

In Davy jones song, When you can feel each and every emotion in a song, much like this one, it’s full of emotion a human can feel. From sadness, to dispare, from anger to rage From love and hate. I can feel each and every one of those feelings in this piece. They played it very beautifully

every now and again i need to listen to the pirates of the caribbean soundtrack. the davy jones theme is just something otherworldly, still to this day, in terms of theme songs

The pianoplay... wow.. You can allmost hear a pearl drop to the floor. It really puts a pressure on the artist, because if he hits it wrong people will know for sure since he is the only sound they can hear.. Well done

Pirates of the Caribbean performed by a marvellous orchestra. Very well realised in a suite. Congratulations to the orchestra and conductor.

the best way to start a year epically

I just rediscovered DNO! WHERE have they been all my life? I got so tired of streaming a certain classical music station it was driving me sane, so went looking on KZread for The GBU theme and never realized this is a whole fantastic Fist Full of (Wonderful) Music! I finally had to stop with the Pirates of the Caribbean and go to bed, but I'll be back for a lot more bounty!

I won’t be able to sit through this concert with a straight face. I’d be laughing at Jack’s theme and crying out at Davy’s theme. The atmosphere must be surreal I imagine.

As far as I remember her name is Eva Steinaa, she is a bit of a star on this musical instrument.

wonderful play, props to everyone that taking part in this.

It is a matter of pride for me that I’m a bit of a veteran fan of the DNO. (Tuva’s famous “waa waa” video was my first and it was only about a week old when I first saw it.) Since then I’ve watched a great many DNO videos. I’ve thoroughly sampled most of the different genre videos and discovered lots of unexpected gems. But my favorite are the movie music videos. You guys have done a great job of staying true to the original pieces. The Star Trek suite is a perfect example. I grew up on Star Trek and you guys nailed it. Also, the videography is top grade. I used to be a photojournalist and I can tell you one of the most challenging things to represent visually is people sitting and doing something repetitively. It’s very difficult to keep it from always looking the same. So the DNO has set a high standard both musically and visually. But the one thing that always takes me by surprise is when your version is better than the original. I love this music. I’ve listened to “He’s a Pirate” more than 50 times IN A ROW. I’m sure I’ve heard it hundreds of times. Guys, yours is better. Lots better. And in combining with other “Pirates” music, you have made a masterpiece. This compilation is nearly perfect musical storytelling. Ladies and gentlemen of the orchestra, sound techs and video artists, lighting experts, stage hands, set designers and all the rest - well done. Very, very well done. Thank you and please keep up the good work.

I always liked the Davy Jones piece best. The whole soundtrack is legendary of course, but the portrayal of Jones' initially happiness and completenes, to sadness and anger, and finally a sort of grim resignation just seem perfect. Beautifully played also.
