It’s beautiful, but it’s far from perfect. There’s a lot of timing issues throughout. Their emphasis isn’t right, and it takes away some of the emotionality and grandeur of the piece. They start to get it right three quarters of the way through this performance though.

This performance is to the equal of the original movie soundtrack. Their French Horn Section is superb & is a credit to the Orchestra. I hope to see them live in concert one day. What I've always loved about this orchestra is I can pick out an oboe, violin, chello, or even a triangle even when the entire orchestra is playing. All instruments are in perfect balance and no one group overrides any other. I've never been able to do that with other orchestras, but this one is consistent regardless of the piece. This was a great performance.

my goodness! outstanding brass section. i only single them out because i've heard more performances of this piece than i have fingers, and those horns blow me away harder than even the original recording. i'll always be curious what the old masters would've thought of this piece. so rich in melodic and thematic complexity, and the orchestration weaves and expands ideas between the sections so brilliantly. this is honestly my favorite orchestra piece along with mozart's requiem.

My favorite soundtrack since I'm 4 (I'm 34), which I listen almost twice a month since then. This is an absolute masterpiece, even beyond his movie soundtrack purpose, as a symphonic piece. The beginning of this wonderful piece of music could be summarized with one word : humility (in face of the Nature). And for the rest : majesty.
