Soundtrack maybe, but the movie is the top for Italian westerns. Can't compete with The Searchers starring John Wayne and some others in overall westerns. Although a great western it cannot compete with John Ford's vision. I don't even think Leone would say it did.

Try listening to the vocal group " The Cubanos." They replicate the instruments with that 'wah wah' style. Listen to Hotel California.

What I can't wrap my head around, and I'm a musician, is that someone wrote this. Mr Morricone my compliments. You, sir, are a genius on the level of Mozart and Bach. And thank you. The piece gives me goosebumps.

The english horn player's part is epic. The pianist skippy fingers on the keyboard are so enjoyable. The soprano's voice is angelic. The chorus is incredible. To put it shortly, I can't get enough of this masterpiece.

As a fan of the movie, one would never consider how much effort was put in the arrangement of the move theme.

I am 75 y old. I saw this movie in Madras. Still I listen this every day. Great.

I'm 63, grew up in Chicago.and I remember when me and my kid friends first seen. Good, bad, and ugly. We all went out and bought parodies cigars.we were 10-15 year's old badass day's I lived the 50's, and 60s as kid doing Cowboy shit...👍

when this song first came out it NEVER won an Academy Award or even a single nomination. until 42 years later they apologized and gave this song an honory award. Clint Eastwood did the honor of receiving the prize.

@@freddiemercury2075 That was a real crime. I'm an old guy now but remember as a kid seeing the film for the first time and being blown away by the music. At school the next day it was all anyone was talking about. The artistry and craft that went into creating music just for a film back then is just incredible.

How can someone dislike this absolute masterpiece? Truly a work of art.

It's an amazing orchestra, but I found it a disturbing to see the fake body hanging specially for mental vulnerable people.

I use to watch this movie with my late father, RIP 2007. I was young.

Sadly they leave out the part where the POWs are playing to cover the torture of the prisoners . I've never heard it other than in the movie it brings tears to your eyes.

I cant get over the fact that the most iconic sound effect in the history was made plainly with the mouth, just wow. Thats why you´re inmortal Ennio.

Me too, from the other side of the Pacific. I watched this movie when it first released in 1966. Absolutely loved the movie theme. Bought the record & playing it on my record player - along with many other great music such as Exodus (Out of the Egypt) movie theme- another masterpiece!!

Who on earth could dislike this? This is a masterpiece.
