I looked up the prices in curiosity as someone who lives in the Southern US and has no chance to see this live. After converting the price, I would be going multiple times if I could. Nothing could cover the quality directly in person visually and definitely audio. I would be so dam happy by the end of the set. Dammit i want a ticket

As a live video engineer I am impressed by the camera work and the use of POV and ROBO cameras. Sure a lot was done in the final post edit. But live they captured an awesome preperformance. I actually plan to see this if they ever do this series again!

@@erwan6186 Actually, my favorite movie of all time is The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Even with the anachronistic errors (guns are totally wrong for the period) it’s still an amazing movie. Even better if you have the deleted scenes.

That harmonica at the beginning is just about the most mournful music I think I've ever heard.

A Danish ochestra, conducted by a woman from Hawaii, plays a soundtrack, song by an Norwegian lady, written by an Italian man, to an american western...Brilliant...edited:..this is an Italian western filmed in Spain..I am sorry if my comment made anyone upset, and forced you to write anything hatefull, as this was certainly not my intention..peace on you all

I start listening repeatedly throughout the year and each time listen til the end and reflect back on the first few times seeing and loving the movie in my youth and at a different level now as I enjoy all the years made possible by God for me to be on his good green earth 🌎

Wpw this music is so good, I taught pursuit training to young police officers ,in the 70s this may sound strange butt i would teach safely above all but in Dekalb co Georgia we had a lot of good times seeing what a 69 road runner could do ,my point was with music like this made my job easy while Spinning out of control,

A beautiful score that went with the movie like magic.

Growing up in a lower middle class family without much means. Ennio Morricone’s music as a kid watching his epic films is what drew me to orchestral music, then the classical pieces. It’s a strange road but I still love his musical style. Thank you.

A world without boundaries is a homogeneous fckin tedious world. Nations need their own identity and values to fight, because that's the human nature. That's where passion is born. When diamonds are made. It's in the hardest of times that humanity struggles and continues to evolve. And also the power is more divided. There's wars and fights, but people show their true selfs. And power is more distributed between the world. A society with passion. In a world without boundaries people feel the need to surpress their own morals, values and their own personality to fit in the global society. That's why we have high rates of depression and suicides. In this "ideal" world people are stoned in the social media for stating their opinion like in the Roman Empire time. Companies have too much power because they're the beacon of the liberal values. A sterile society.

It was so haunting and beautiful.

This orchestra is not afraid to use alternate or lesser know instruments in order to achieve the sound they deem necessary. All of their conductors are phenomenal, but this young lady here is fearless when it comes to alternate sounds. The chorus is superb, the instrumentalists are just off the charts great, and Tuva is. . . .Tuva. How can one even describe her; I have no idea why she is not better recognized, considering what she does and how she does it. Actually, that goes for the entire group; they’re all superb. I just love this orchestra and am in absolute awe of each and everyone of them. Humongous thumbs up!

It's the original instumentation which the italian composer (Ennio Morricone, 1928-2020) wrote it for. In the early 60's, he was the first one who started to use "weird" instruments and mouth-made sounds with the film-orchestra. Others later copied that idea from him!

It was the BEST rendition of the music behind the BEST American Western movie ever made. The movie was an Italian production, influenced and inspired by the all-pervasive American culture. The movie in turn influenced and inspired American filmmakers to come up with great and memorable movies like The Wild Bunch, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and The Unforgiven where the good, the bad, and the ugly all had stories worthy of telling and knowing.

I’m glad I can see the beauty in this music before my time ends. A higher layer of humanity

Couldn't understand the tears watching Once Upon a Time in the West until I realized, its the music. You can have your Mozart and your Brahms. You can take your Williams and your Zimmerman. Ennio Morricone, that is the real deal. How a bunch of Danes dug so deep into his heart and soul is a mystery. But thank God for that. Love it.

YES! The music matches the screenplay so well, and is so thematic. ENNIO puts you right there. It takes an entire movie to get to the final DUEL in this movie. And in that scene, the music awakens your every fibre of thought, mood, emotion.. It is a MASTERPIECE !

Funny thing about Ennio Morricone’s music ... appreciation of the work ages like a good wine. He did music for Mission to Mars (2000), which is the film’s redeeming quality given a mediocre script and original director walking out.

The movie and score was a masterpiece tribute to the old west. And golden boy Henry Fonda as one of the movie screens most despicable villains. “You brought two to many” amazingly gifted orchestra to replicate these scores with such accuracy

I will have to find the Henry Fonda interview, where he discussed his casting in this film. Director wanted the villain to have piercing blue eyes (Fonda trademark). It was one of the few roles where he got to play a true villain - of course his son Peter was filming “Easy Rider” in this same time period.

1970 was the first time I saw this movie, and I've seen it many times since.. this music is magic.

RIP Ennio Morricone - this particular theme always makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up - this is probably the best rendition I've ever heard of it - bravo

I haven't heard many orchestras playing. But the performance by this one I guess can hardly be bettered. The have literally recreated the original. Feels as though you are in the scene!

The places of "once upon a time in the west " are mostly tourist attraction ghost towns now . Thank God

This video is a high quality production. Not only it brings across Morricone's wonderful music excellently but also cut and camera is virtually perfect. Applause for the orchestra and the film team.

Well, this symphony orchestra is part of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation. The Danish equivalent of the British BBC. Surely they are able to make good video productions.

I'm a huge Ennio Morricone fan, and listening to this I think Morricone would be proud that the Danish National Symphony Orchestra's rendition of his works are true to its core. And Tuva Semmingsen is just simply fantastic!

The score is that great that it makes almost every rendition sound amazing. This one is actually not that good.

The great man has passed away today. He was a titan that spanned the world of film music. He brought us some of THE most iconic music we have ever been privileged to hear. His music defined a whole genre of film making. For me, this plaintive piece of music feels very fitting at this time. Riposo in pace Maestro. I would love to hear Tuva's solo when the Oscars do their yearly tribute to those in the film industry who departed in 2020---including Maestro Morricone. Wow. Just...wow.

How many thought Sarah could have also played another part in creating this masterpiece. I use to play this over and over so often after the movie came out that members in my unit would chime in and all I needed were my two hands and a deep breath.

This not really an entirely american western movie, though. Lots of Italian talent, aka foreign, style much different from John Wayne and Hollywood. Wikipedia says that it has lots of references to american westerns :-) But certainly one of the BEST movies and BEST music indeed!

It was an Italian production, influenced and inspired by the all-pervasive American culture. The movie in turn influenced and inspired American filmmakers to come up with great and memorable movies like The Wild Bunch, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and The Unforgiven where the good, the bad, and the ugly all had stories worthy of telling and knowing.

It transcends genres, which I think many great works of art do. To my mind, it's a Wagnerian opera, complete with leitmotifs for each of the principal characters. And casting Henry Fonda as the BAD guy? GENIUS.

Actually, although the frontier could be brutal the excessive violence is a figment of the truth. Dime novels created the notion that the west was lawless which was propagated by western films. Most settlers were relatively religious folk who sought new beginnings and opportunities in life. The violence occurred but was rare.

The best orchestra in the entire world hands down

Maestro you are dead, but your music compositions will be immortal. Thank you Morricone!!

I attended this concert. It was absolutely breathtaking. ❤

From one of the starkest, dusty dirty and grimiest portrayals of life and death in an old West frontier town, came one of the most soaring heartbreakingly beautiful score of music ever put to film. Thank you Ennio for your genius and thank you Danish National Symphony company for recreating it perfectly.

@@Dabhach1 Those movies are so beautifully shot it's hard to believe how old they are, coupled with Morricone's music they became truly iconic, really a work of two geniuses combined, it's a shame Leone passed away as he was leaving the western behind to explore new themes, who knows what other masterpiece he could've made

Maestro Morricone definitely takes us to another time, another place. It's somewhere we've never been before but would like to revisit. The evidence of greatness is if an artist can move you deeply and change your perspective from apathy to vibrancy. Maestro Morricone does that without trying. This is not a labor of love by him, but pure love that flows from him. Thank you, sir. RIP in the arms of the Lord.

The best Movies ever, they had everything, the storyline, the violence, comedy and the characters.

Very emotional for me. These Morricone compositions are tied in my heart to my dearly departed father. God bless him for introducing me to such classic films and scores.❤

The same. Back in the 1970s Mom would get stir crazy and insist on getting out of the house to go somewhere, anywhere. So we would pile into the family car, 2 parents, 3 boys, 2 cats, and go to the drive in theater. Dad usually picked the movie, which meant Eastwood, spaghetti Westerns at first, later on Dirty Harry. On the rare occasions Mom got to choose it would be Hitchcock. I still remember how our male Persian would hold the movie hostage by yowling loud enough to drown out the speaker until someone fed him popcorn.

As I watch this today I am weeping for the passing of Morricone, for the actors in the film who left us, for my own family of whom I am the last, and for myself.
