    when you have experience with playing the piano it isnt that hard. For me the challanging part of learning the organ was that you have a whole different style of playing and feeling. No matter how hard you press a key the sound still stays loud and it depends on the different registers if you have to press a key hard or soft to make a sound. But all in all its a really nice experience and playing or hearing the organ is very much underrated :D

    I would say 90% of the the time simultaneously, if a church or any building is going to have an organ, u need to make sure they'll work together, especially since the building is literally the instrument I'm not kidding the pipes u see are only the tip of the iceberg in most cases. Theres usually more in the walls

  • @DMphobia

    @DMphobia

    Жыл бұрын

    Older styled organs generally had to be implanted in the church while it's foundation was being laid, since at that time they were such massive instruments that could be heard throughout an entire town, required two men to play, and seventy men to provide the necessary airflow with blowers. That said, churches were often DESIGNED and the foundations laid before or during the organ's manufacture, as you can't just throw in a massive pipe organ into a tiny cathedral and expect it to fit or resonate properly. Nowadays, with standardized parts, cheap materials and fast automated production lines, Organs are much more quickly built and most conform to a single 'one-size-fits-all' design philosophy for churches to build around.

    Even the best speakers can't convey the absolute *force* that an organ like this can push. Until you're in the presence of someone playing one of these things in person, you really don't understand the sheer magnitude of musical power that these things can express. In the right hands, they're absolutely stupefying. I'd love to hear this song played on a big organ like this someday. The person in the video plays it quite well.

    It goes from a whimsical almost ethereal tune into an angry almost cacophonous nearly overwhelming symphonic peice then falls back to a haunting rendition of the original melody. In my opinion it almost perfectly represents grief or loss you are happy in an almost whimsical state then something happens that corrupts your view of the world you are in grief this explosion and Rollercoaster of emotions swirling around like a storm. Then finally you accept what has happened and things calm down and while you have healed there is still the scar that will never fade and therefore it remains in some way still having changed the way things are permanently

The other children at the orphanage who considered him weird, Slytherin House which treated him as second class for having a muggle name, all of Wizarding Britain which refused to acknowledge his potential despite his achievements in Hogwarts; he took it all quite personally. He couldn’t let things go and seek his fortune elsewhere, and so instead of a genius he became a monster.

    I grew up in a town beside a large basilica. The music from the massive pipe organ in it can be heard for miles. There are also bells aroung the church with different tones and they would ring it along with the melody. Inside, you can feel the music in your bones. Literally. It was overwhelming and haunting. I can see how they say that singing church songs is like singing up to the heavens.

  • @Cosmic_Espeon

    My favorite part about this particular piece is that you can feel the stages of Grief in the song, like at the beginning it's slow, Denial and then you get the middle part which sounds furious, you can feel Davy Jones's anger at Calypso's betrayal, near the end I can feel a bit of Bargaining, and then the last part is Depression and Acceptance. It's just so beautifully played and being played on an organ like this just makes it feel alive. You can feel the emotions Davy Jones has had to face for a long time. He was a good man who became evil, and like Nicolas Cage said in National Treasure, there is a debt that all men pay, and Jones paid it. Shame we won't know what happens after Dead men tell no tales thanks to Disney.

The famous phrase "pulling all the stops" (meaning "do something with maximum effort or ability") is believed to come exactly from the organ instrument, probably because of how sick it sounds. Also, "pulling all the stops" is an old idiom, just imagine people from the fourth century BC hearing something like this. It stuns US, TODAY, I like to imagine how they would've felt hearing it!

    You're walking home from the pub a cold dark night. The only thing which is lightly lit except from the streetlights is this church. Suddenly you hear this soft but melancholy tune coming from inside. You feel strange. A sensation you've never felt before. The melody is so captivating that you feel yourself drawn to the church as if you're hypnotized by the music. You walk up to the large church door and without even thinking you put your hand on the handle and open it, still in a state of absolute bliss. The only thing on your mind is that you MUST get closer to the music. You step in and you look up to see someone... or something... playing the organ. 2:28 This is what you see but the church is very dimly lit with candles so you can only make out a silhouette of a man playing the soft tune still but strangely it's almost as if he's playing with more than 2 arms. Suddenly the music stops, the candles that lit up the church are blown out by a strong breeze and the door slams shut behind you. You're standing there in complete darkness and you feel like you have just awoken from a dream of absolute happiness. A dream where you heard the one melody you've been waiting to hear your entire life. The sensation slowly disappear and you realize you're not dreaming anymore. You start to wonder where you are, it's pitch black. You ask yourself "Was the dream i just had real?". Reality sinks in. The sensation of pure bliss then quickly turns into pure dread. You realize you're alone.. in a pitch black church... at night. Not only can you not see anything but you can sense something strange.. evil.. in your presence. Fight of flight kicks in and you realize you have to look for a way out. You remember you just entered so there has to be a door behind you. As soon as you're about to turn around you see candles being lit on the platform above you where the music came from. There's a man with a big hat standing there.. Or what looks like a man. But his face... His.. face.. is covered with tentacles as if they were his beard. You're terrified. You have never seen something as vile and evil looking in your entire life. As you stand there paralazed by fear, unable to move. He looks down upon you and calmly but sinisterly asks "Do you fear death?..Do you fear that dark abyss?... All your deeds laid bare... All your sins punished! I can offer you an escape. Join my crew and postpone judgement. 100 years before the mast! Will ye serve?"... You don't know what to answer.. A moment ago you were walking home from a night at the pub! Why do i have to make this decision, why here.. why now? Do i fear death? It's a question you haven't thought of. You want to say yes because death is scary, but it comes for us all doesn't it? Will a life serving this octopus..man...things crew be better than death? No... You say "No i don't fear death it comes for us all, and my time has not yet come". It's completely silent for a second. Suddenly the man chuckles. He says "Well... How does a man like you know when its your time to die? How would you know it's not about to happen as we speak"? As soon as he says that candles around the church starts lighting up and what you see around you is absolutely the most grim thing you can ever see. A crew of men looking like they've been born straight from the sea. Sharks, corall, all kinds of strange fish types, but man. It is like a nightmare.. but real and you can feel the end is coming. Music starts playing again, but it's different.. Much more grim and much more sinister. It fills you with absolute dread. Completely opposite what you felt walking in... It sounds like... Doom... Suddenly you're head is grabbed. You look up. All you see is a sword coming down upon you. that is the last thing you ever see in this life. As you die, you hear the music slowly fade away.. until everything is black and quiet. Made up this story on the fly. If you made it to the end thanks for reading.
