Looks good but I beg to differ on two points: trap speed and scent cover. Neither are necessary. A slower trap sneaks out of the ground instead of blowing dirt into the targets face (which typically results in toe catches) and nothing you do to cover scent will beat a canines nose, so I don't worry about it.

I’m writing from my wife’s account. I see that your video depicts your trap jaws are positioned assuming the coyote will come to the set from the side and not from the front, where the pipe is on an angle, when actually, because of the position of your pipe, the animal will more likely approach from the front. The way you have your jaws set, there is a chance that when the jaws close they will throw the coyote’s leg upward causing it’s leg to be thrown out of the trap or only having a toe hold, or you’ll lose the animal completely. This is often the case with lynx or bobcats because they are super quick (old saying ‘quick as cat’). Also, why not put a thin plastic tarp down under your legs to prevent the coyote or fox from picking up your scent off the ground especially when there is cold weather or snow that will hold the scent longer and lower to the ground. Cats have lousy noses and it isn’t necessary for them, but bad habits can lead to empty sprung traps and create trap wise animals as all these species are likely to approach your set. Gregg Shannon

Animal could approach from left, right or straight ahead. Trap was set with that in mind. The waxed dirt is very helpful in freezing/thawing conditions. It prevents the dirt from freezing and seizing up the trap. The 3lb hammer is helpful in getting the earth anchor through the frozen ground.

DeerHunter Unfortunately, yes. That is part of trapping. Cats, Dogs and other non-target species can always find their way into the sets. With pets, we always just hope they were caught high enough up the leg that it doesn't break it. And, generally speaking, pets, are a lot less aggressive than say a caught bobcat or coyote. So, once they get caught they will just lay down and wait, as opposed to wild animals trying to fight it to get out and causing more damage to themselves.

You really can’t.. with deer, they will set off the trap but pull out 100% of the time with no damage. There is not enough lbs of pressure on the traps to Hold any size deer. With dogs depending on the size it could hold them. There’s really no way to stop them from potentially finding them and getting caught. That’s why most states have laws in place to check the traps every 24 hours.
