PIPE DREAM - Custom Exhaust for SQUAREBODY 6.0 LS SWAP - UTX

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today at Ugly Truck, we're installing the exhaust system on this 1986 C10 LS swap. We're using the stock exhaust manifolds, so we start by using the donor flanges to build the front pipes. Next, we go into a couple Walker Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers. From there, Jerry works his Bendpak magic on the tailpipes, with the pipes exiting out the sides. We weld up 3 exhaust hangers on each side, and with that, the underside of this squarebody LS swap is complete!

Hey guys, Emily here. Just wanted to break the fourth wall for a minute. This video has some weird glitches in it towards the end. After a 3 day fight, 6 uploads, and numerous attempts to contact support, I'm at a loss. If anyone reading this has any suggestions, I'm all ears! We appreciate you guys so much, and I just want to put out the highest quality content possible for you. 😊😊 Anyway, don't forget about our LIVE tomorrow night June 25 at 8:00 PM 🌽 Corn Time (Central US) for the LS swap AC bracket GIVEAWAY! Here's a link! kzread.infos7dRPUfK3Ug?feature=share

Jerry,Emily, I know you guys didn't intend to make how to videos. But if others have been helped as much as I have. Then quite a few people have been helped alot. When I started my Ls3 swap in my 03' Crown Vic. I was tryin to figure out how to get the a/c to work and alot of other things. Thanx to you guys I now know how I can do it and you've Givin me the courage to make it happen. I've saved alot of your videos so I can go back and rewatch them like the a/c one to make sure I'm doing it right. I know yours are GM and mine is a Ford, but the principals are the same. I thank you two very much. I look forward to your videos. Thank you for what you do. I know there are aftermarket cruise control units out there. I just have to figure out which switch will work with my swap. I'm looking into seeing if the switches in the Ford steering wheel will work. I just have to swap my plain police wheel for one with switches if it would work lol.

Nicely done! All the others on KZread say “Gotta take it in to the shop for exhaust…” Not Jerry! Like you said this isn’t exactly a DIY how-to video, but it does make you appreciate the work done and also to help a person realize/justify the cost of the bill at the muffler shop seeing all the detail work that goes into a full exhaust run. One question….I rewatched some of it and still couldn’t figure it out. Why does the driver’s side get welded directly whereas the passenger gets flared? Just because of all the tight bends due to the linkage and O2 bung? Great job all around on this build. Seriously a full-service jobber. Wow! Ready to see the rest of it. Also….Is that the factory Uniroyal Tiger Paw spare I spy under that truck? Keep up the great work you two!

  • @UglyTruckExperience

Thanks so much, Lance! That was our exact reason for making this video! Exhaust is usually a "drop it off and poof it's done" thing, and the owner rarely has the opportunity to see the process. We've talked about doing a similar video on alignments for the same reason. To your question: The exhaust manifolds have 2 different types of flanges, and it's easier for us to reuse the flat flange on the right side. On the left, we've reused that whole flange down to the bend, including the O2 sensor, and that works fine too. It's pretty easy for Jerry to make a new flange on that side, and that way he can make sure the O2 sensor is in a good spot. Plus, I think he just likes to play with the tubing bender. 🤣 And yes! That's the original Tiger Paw spare! 👍👍 Thanks for tuning in, Lance!

@@UglyTruckExperience Awesome, thank you! And I’d love to see an alignment video. We have so few shops around here for alignment and most of them aren’t real trustworthy so it would be beneficial to know what is going on. I had my original Tiger Paw in the back of my ‘88 Blazer but it developed a big ole lump on the sidewall. I wish I would’ve kept it and hung it on the wall!
