The one in the video is a 6400NEX, but I have also had the 2500NEX, 2550NEX, 6500NEX and my most recent radio is the 8500NEX that has been my favorite so far.

I believe so, I don’t remember having any greyed out settings after doing it. I don’t have that truck anymore or else I would check right now. I will see if I can get ahold of the guy I sold it too and check if possible.

Would this work with the avh-241ex? Also would I need to do this every time I start my car?

It has worked with every Pioneer radio I have tried so far. You will only have to repeat it if your battery goes completely dead. The radio remembers it otherwise.

It has personally worked on every pioneer I have tried it on, it might just be a slightly different sequence. If it doesn't work then you might have to bypass it with a wiring bypass kit from amazon.

It’s bypassing the parking brake wire. Usually you have to apply the parking brake to watch anything on the radio.

This doesn't work for my Pioneer AVH-120BT. I had my hopes, but nothing. Unless I wired it up wrong, but double checking connections show every connection is solid. Radio works & sounds great. CD's play fine just no DVD's. Do I have to have an actual DVD in player to try this trick again? Otherwise no go for this model. Was just wondering if you knew any other tricks for this model? Let me know please. Thanks

Every NEX I have personally tested had that option, but they have mainly been newer units. It might not be an option on yours.

Do you have to do this every time the head is powered on or does it remember this setting?

Hello, it doesn't work on my avh 2300 nex and my remote blue white wire out of head unit stopped working has 0 power and my bypass won't work because of it so now been searching for a fix to get my options un grayed so can setup new amps.

I just ground the parking brake wire or seal it off with shrink-wrap.

It has worked on every radio I’ve tried so far. Sometimes it takes a couple tries from my experience. You can also try updating the firmware.

If it's not working you can try pushing the reset button with the end of something small and then try this process again. This has personally worked on every single pioneer radio I have tried.

As far as I'm aware, the DMH-W2770NEX is no longer supported by Pioneer (no new firmware updates). All of the NEX units that I've seen this "secret" bypass cheat code work for are the more expensive NEX models that are still getting Pioneer updates. One of the updates added the bypass method shown in this video, but (and I could be wrong about this) the -W2770NEX didn't receive this update. Three-wire, double-pulse micro bypass is the fix for the W2700/70...worked for mine.

Does that work to clear the blue tooth phone files out also?

I am not sure on that specific model, you might have to try finding a video of someone who has that exact one and see if they can help. It has personally worked on every pioneer radio I have tried it on even if it takes a couple tries.

I don’t know what year mine was made but it is also a avh-120bt. Could you possibly just spit off the tricks and let us try for whatever years may be different than this? Or is it that there are no other tricks except this one and after finding out the year we will only be told that “oh well it’s because it’s to old?” If the trick is different I’d rather just give it a shot and see if it works rather than pulling my stereo out to find out the year.

Must have missed your comment, it has personally worked on every Pioneer radio I have tried. There is also a bypass kit you can get from amazon and you wire it right in.

I grounded it; connected it to the black wire coming out of the radio.

Tried it on 3 different pioneer stereos. Reset them And retried. DOES NOT WORK.

Sorry to hear that, you might have to get a bypass wiring kit from Amazon. It will accomplish the same thing just a little more work.

@@diydevin My installer left the thin green wire in a loop from the brake sensor input to the ground. Could that be causing this? Do I need to cut the wire? Or remove it from the back of the head unit altogether?

@@ThatRascalMerlin Thats one of 3 wires you will have to use, the bypass kit will hook together the parking brake wire, ground wire and the power wire so it's bypassed. In some cases it will use 4 of the radio wires. Your installer might be able to sell you one as well.
