Appreciate the toggle switch reference brought a project car with the Bluetooth issue and didn't know why the toggle switch was wired to the radio 📻

I have a Pioneer AVH 2330 NEX and the micro bypass worked like a champ. Grounding by itself was ineffective. Easy to install. Ordered from Amazon on Monday and had it by Thursday. Can't complain. It works!

I don’t see how, all I got was “hook these two, and hook these two” and then a microsecond of a visual of a bunch of wires narrated by “you’ll wanna strip em first, this is just to show you...” constructive criticism, if you’re making a tutorial it’s most effective to verbally as well as visually describe what you’re doing. “I connect the xxx wire to the yyy wire, then connect the aaa wire to the bbb wire, like this and then pause long enough for a person to see what you did. I just ended up being frustrated and ended the video right there.

yes sir... I'm trying to connect my pioneer in my 2006 ford expedition and i can't figure out how to wiring the steering wheel control kit .. or the bypass .. thank you for your response...

Never thought about hooking to reverse wire good idea

Will the micro-bypass work for my Pioneer 4100-NEX?

$3 toggle switch from Walmart battery section. Green wire from radio (parking brake wire) to one side, ran another wire from other side to a switched fuse under steering wheel. That easy. Turn the switch on and off when wanting to watch a dvd while driving. Takes about 1.2 seconds to complete the sequence of on-off-on. Mounted the switch directly in between my front a/c vents so its super accessible.

i already soldered my harness together.. can i connect the bipass wires to other sources to get it to function? like a fused source and body ground?

What if i have a factory amp powering my mids and highs and an aftermarket jl amp and sub for more bass. Would I tie the remote wire to both the factory amp, jl amp, and brake bypass?

your going to do this and then your going to do this. Would have been nice to say your going to take green and connect to light green and so on. this video is just do this and do then and then we will do this. Well after watching over and over again I got it. Still giving thumbs up. Thanks.

The System Remote Control wire and the Ground wires, do they also need to be connected with the ground and rc wires from the harness for the car? My Metra Toyota harness also has a ground wire and a rc wire, do I connect them too? Or tape those off..?

I was having a problem with a bypass module from Amazon. I ended up just hooking it up with the reverse positive that came up to the front of the truck with the backup camera AV input. Solved the problem and was able to access all settings on a Pioneer MVH-1400NEX.

I've heard that some updates for the radio make it so the bypass won't work.... is that true?

I already have a remote wire ran to my amp from fuse block with factory radio. Do need to connect it to aftermarket radio for the radio to send power to sub output AVIC-8200NEX. Cause as of right now I am not getting sound from sub output.

I just bought a Pioneer AVH-601EX and planning on using this bypass. Will this allow me to monitor my backup camera while driving also? (All aftermarket items)

Hooked this up on my Winnebago RV with the AVH 3800 but now the parking brake alarm go's offon the RV, and I can't get it to shut off so had to disconnect the ground. Would it matter if I don't ground to the black wire and ground to radio frame or something?

I looked up the micro bypass and on amazon it is saying microbypass but there’s a lot of results that say things like video in motion or parking break switch or bypass parking break...are they all the same thing? And is there actually a penny involved in the process?

Instructions with my micro bypass say that I have to connect one of the wires to my BLUE/White amp turn-on wire on my pioneer radio. HOWEVER, my car also requires a 5V STEP DOWN which is also supposed to be attached to the BLUE/white wire. Will these 2 connections live in harmony? Or will they screw each other up?

This is my first time doing this…. The light green wire once they’re connected, do I connect it to a wire in the parking brake wire?

Could you please tell me if the switch linked will work for avh-501ex

What if I dont have an amp or anything hooked up to the remote wire? Will it work if I just plug the bypass wire into the remote wire on the head unit if the remote wire isnt hooked to anything else?

Hey men this micro bypass works in all pioneer avh? I have a pioneer AVH-285BT. And if work for my avh i only put the wire color on the same wire color of the plug?

Can you still use the remote wire at the sametime for the remote wire for the amp.

hi, I have a pioneer avhz5000dab and I connected the light green cable (Parking Brake) both on the black of the radio and also tried directly on the - of the battery but I completely discharge the battery. with this cable system do I solve the problem?

Put the bypass in the Pioneer AVH-X491BHS and still get the caution warning. I had it installed and it was installed correctly. The settings are unlocked, just the caution screen does not go away. Any ideas would be great. Thanks.

I'm wanting to install a parking brake bypass on a stock ford stereo. However, when I located the green, black and blue wires I found there was either conduction shield or what I think may be called bare wire running alongside these three wires. Question is.. how do I deal with the bare wite when installing the parking brake bypass? Please excuse my verbage and terminology - I'm new to this. Thanks for your time.

Your videos are good. I've watched many. Thanks for all the helpful info. I purchased a Pioneer AVH-2300NEX and the Micro Bypass. Everything is connected correctly. The unit recognizes my Galaxy S8 via Bluetooth and I can play Pandora, make and receive calls with no problem by using either the phone or the Pioneer. However, when I start Android Auto on the phone, it works fine on the phone, but nothing is transferred to the Pioneer. Strangely, I can play Pandora or Spotify manually through either the phone on Android Auto or on the Pioneer but I do not get the blocked 'Android Auto' splash screen on the phone. Nor can I get Waze or Google Maps on the Pioneer. On the Pioneer main screen, when I touch Smartphone, Android Auto is greyed out. On the phone in Android Auto settings-> Connected Cars, my car does not show up. I've tried sliding the "Add new Cars to Android Auto" both on and off, plugged and unplugged the USB cable and it never gets me to the screens to recognize the Pioneer. I've rebooted the PIoneer, erased all settings, and deleted and reloaded Android Auto on my phone multiple times. Any idea what the problem might be?

Great info - but I'm curious. I have a Scosche SU03B harness that has an orange wire and an orange and white wire. The Pioneer AVH-200EX factory harness has ONLY an orange and white wire. I have the A-TRIG1 relay connected correctly, but do I need to connect the orange and white wire and leave the orange wire disconnected, or should I forget both of these wires? I know they are for illumination and have nothing to do with the bypass, but I'd like to know how to connect these orange and orange/white wires. Thanks for any help!

Just connect the orange/whites together and leave the orange capped off. You will not need it.

Notice this video is from 5 years ago. Would you recommend attempting this method for an AVH model that released in 2020.? The AVH 521..

I have the Pioneer 3300 nex and for some reason, every time I get a phone call through the Bluetooth it is so quiet. It sounds like you are listening to the other person through a cell phone earpiece with the volume turned all the way up. There is no issue hearing me talk on the callers end. I also cannot get the auto EQ to work. I purchased the microphone but the option is greyed out.

Thanks for this video. You guys have the best videos for stereo installation. Question I have is if the green parking brake wire is connected already. Do I disconnect the parking brake wire and tap the green bypass wire to it. Or keep the parking brake connected and tap the bypass wire to it?

Sup guys, hoping you can help out here. I just got the DMH-W4660NEX. Micro bypass says on Amazon that a bypass is not needed with doing the “work around” with 1.13 but current version is 1.31. Will this trick still work or is a micro bypass still needed? Thanks

In the instructions it says to connect the vehicles black wire to the black wire from the radio and the black wire on the bypass. Is that true? I hooked this up and the check engine light came on.

My Pioneer shows the video when I put a DVD, eject it, then insert the DVD again. It will play while driving, but will show the restriction when I try to watch a movie from the usb. So do I need the bypass in order to watch usb movies? If so, why does the DVD works without the bypass?

So my brand new one won't play DVDs whether I'm parked or not, even with the brake on and the car not running. Will this help with that as well? Or is it just for disabling it while not parked?

I have installed DMH A345BT, which can only set my steering wheel control on settings.. Afte my car's swc responses on pioneer head unit's settings, it does not working.. Until settings only. If you do not have an exterior amp do you connect the blue/white wire on both the car harness and stereo harness to the microbypass or just the blue/white wire from the stereo to the microbypass?

Bill Hoffer depends on the car, it may have a factory amp or an antenna that needs the blue/white also. To be safe I would connect both, car and bypass to radio.

Great video! You put up some really helpful videos. Question, have you had a chance to test the MicroBypass on the new Alpine ILX-207 yet? I'm having issues on mine, and it doesn't seem to working.

will this bypass work on any of the Pioneer DVD players?

Has anyone else seen a reliability problem with these? I know they're not that expensive, but I don't want to tear half my car dash apart every couple of months because the micro bypass has failed. Five Star, do you guys know if the old school 12 volt relay wire in hack will accomplish the same thing with these newer Pioneers?
