My adapter harness had a blue/white wire that I connected the B/W wire from the stereo to, but I noticed when I plugged the adapter harness into the truck harness there was no wire at all on the truck side of the harness. That pin slot was empty. I didn't think this MicroBipass was going to work because the B/W wire was not connected to anything in my truck. It worked though! I'm so happy!

Do you recommend using the factory and aftermarket harness (plugged in) for your only ground? I noticed you spliced in extra blue wire to attach to amp turn on. Could not tell if you spliced in extra black wire to ground to vehicle chassis. I will be installing a Pioneer AVH X4800bs and the black wires on both harnesses have pins so I assume that will suffice as a ground. Please let me know/recommendations. Vehicle is an '08 Corolla S (non-JBL).

I find the simplest best way to bypass the brake is to just ground the light green park brake wire to one of the small screws on the deck itself! Crimp on a small fork connector to make it look neat and tidy. You don't need these bypass units. Love the channel btw! Great info.

If I have my phone connected while I'm playing a DVD the movie will just stop and go to my last source I was using after a couple of minutes. Is there a setting I can turn off automatic switching to sources or something. Also can u get updates while watching a DVD such as your Gps alerts or phone messages. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hey guys. Question for ya, I am installing a bypass on a 1330NEX. I was wondering why I have to splice in the Metra “power antenna” (blue color) cord into the Microbypass connection with the Pioneer blue/white cable. The instructions doesn’t seem to indicate that I need to do that however I see you have.

Bypass, stereo harness, and adapter harness. I hooked black from all 3 together. Green from bypass and stereo harness together. Blue from stereo harness and bypass together. Is that correct? There is also a blue from the adapter harness on the wire it says power antenna. Do I need to hook that into blue also? Thanks for your videos and help.

Hey Dean, thanks for posting all of these great videos. I've been watching a ton of them leading up to installing a new setup in my car. I have a question. I have a 2010 Mazda 3 with bose. I have bought new polk audio speakers for the doors as well as a 4 channel amp and a subwoofer amp for a 10" subwoofer. My question is if I want to bypass the bose amp, would I be able to just not connect the blue remote turn on wire from my factory harness and just run the remote turn on wire from the pioneer harness to my amps. Essentially bypassing the connection from the factory harness? Thank you for your time in advance.

+pattersonbrl we always connect the factory blue wires even if we bypass the amp. There may be a antenna amp turn on running off the same output. You can connect the plugs blue wire to the red wire when doing this. You just want it active when the key is on.

Marc Antoine Kassis pioneer only uses 1 Blue/white wire in their harness, no just blue wire. We usually connect the cars power antenna wire up to the Red accessory wire. Then connect the Microbypass and amps up to the blue/white

I have the Pioneer AVH 4200NEX, installed in my F150 2004, you are making the wiring look to easy thank you for all your videos., but for people less talented like myself is there a store that you can purchase the harness already wired for specific vehicles? with steering wheel control, micro bypass, and ready for rear view camera and make it really plug and play? I installed the sMetra Axxess ASWC-1 OEM Steering Wheel Control Universal Interface Module ASWC works like a champ thanks to your video. but the micro bypass didn't work, maybe it was a defective bypass (blk w blk, grn w grn, and blue with white and blue,) still didn't work. Again thank you for the informative videos

I've got one question that I'm trying to find an answer to, my AVH-4100NEX was installed by a local audio shop, however, Android Auto refuses to function. Basically, when you connect the phone to the radio, Android Auto will pop up on the phone itself and display an error saying "Android Auto setup will resume when the car is parked". During the duration of the message the car is already in park and not moving. I've done searches and the information seems conflicting, some say its because it doesn't work when the Radio is grounded, while others say the Radio needs to be connected with a bypass. Have you guys ever run into a problem with getting Android Auto/Car Play to work?

Great video. The only thing I would add is a description of what the "extra" 6" blue wire you added is for and a suggestion to tape or heat shrink the end if it will remain used to prevent possible shorting. I was thinking myself of adding a length of wire as you did just to preserve/keep the remote turn on wire for other uses. What is the expression? "Great minds think alike"?

Glad to help as I find your videos quite helpful. Been a long time since I installed a car stereo, so I'm coming up to speed. I asked Microbypass directly if having a "spare" remote turn on wire could cause an issue should. His response was as fast as it is good: "Sometimes amplifiers can back-feed current causing the bypass to malfunction. What model is the amplifier, and what is the year/make/model of the vehicle? Usually you should not run into an issue like this, and the remote wire can be shared. However, sometimes a factory/aftermarket amplifiers or an amplified FM antenna can back-feed current causing the MicroBypass to malfunction. In the case of something causing an issue, you can isolate the MicroBypass one of two ways: #1 Connect the blue/white wire on the Pioneer radio to the blue wire on the microbypass. Then connect the blue and/or blue/white wire on the vehicle side harness for your FM antenna/factory amplifier along with the red wires. This way the FM antenna/factory amplifier will receive power when the vehicle is on, and off when the vehicle is off, and not have the issue of causing the bypass not to work. #2: To eliminate the something from back-feeding into a circuit you can install a diode. A diode is a device the allows power to travel one way and is labeled on one side with a band or stripe. You would connect the Pioneer radios blue/white to the MicroBypass blue and then connect these two wires to one side of the diode (the side without the stripe). You would then connect the other side of the diode (the one marked with the stripe) to the wire that runs to the amp. This will also solve the issue, but please remember that the remote wire has a max output of around 350mA. Here is a link to Radio Shack for a diode. You would want the 1N4001 Cat#276-1101 www.radioshack.com/products/1n4001-micro-1a-diodes?variant=5717577541 Please let me know if you need any further help. Thank you, -Matt"
