Great Unit....Never regret buying it. The only issue I have is that I wish I could do voice commands via the car microphone instead of the phone microphone when connected to Apple Carplay & Android Auto. My USB connection in routed to the glove box so I connect and keep my phone in there. In order to use Siri for example I have to take out the phone out the glove box so it can hear me

Hi!! Cool video... I decided to get this one after watching. I've install the latest firmware 1.07 and got this SD card "Lexar Professional 633X 64GB SDXC UHS-I" it says it not compatible. Do I need to format it in a specific way to be able to read it?

Curious why you didn't retain the USB that's in the center console? I made that one Apple carplay... to finish out your system you might want to look into the idatalink SU2 harness they recently-released for all vehicle.. I'm sure you'll do your research and find out what's the benefit of the harness

What cords are u using for the s9 connection?

This unit is awesome. i actually took it out and got the 4400....after using that and the 4200 i advise to pick up the 4200. its cheaper and does the same things.

What kind of phone mount are you using?

Were do I get a power cord for 4200nex

Were you able to Update the Firmware using the Extension USB Cable then? I'm kind of worried I'll have to update the unit before I have it installed.

Intuitively, I thought that you could use BOTH USB ports simultaneously, and yes, yes you can. It's kind of dumb they don't advertise this and only give you one adapter in the kit, however knowing this, I went out and got a second Male-Female USB adapter and hooked it up with the AndroidAuto connector. Right now it's got a 128GB SDXC Card with 90 GB of music loaded onto it, few notes about that: 1. It took at least 2 HOURS for the Pioneer unit to scan and read all of the songs and the metadata and store it to memory. 2. The audio sounds very glitched while it is loading this data into memory, the other functions are lagged as well because of this. Understandable anyway that the processor is very busy and is a bit bottle-necked at the moment. 3. Once the drive hit 100% read, everything stabilized functions and all. The other USB (I-Pod) is my dedicated Movie and Video storage @ 64 GB, NTFS Format with 54 GB of Mostly 1080p MP4 files with AAC/AC3 Audio Format. Videos load instantly and luckily this dive did not take forever to store the metadata in its memory. Finally my main USB (AndroidAuto) smooth as butter when switching through the different A/V modes, however it gets bugged out at times when switching between sources and the screen keeps saying there's something wrong with my phones end of the bargain so I have to reset the phone connection. Either way, the unit is very intuitive with it's design and I am incredibly satisfied with it. As far as the Firmware goes, the unit came pre-loaded with Version 1.06 (1.07 Is most current).

May be a dumb question but I’m pretty new to stereo installs. But will this not work with the the stock Subaru Mic and will it work won’t he steering wheel controls?

Do I need to install an amplifier if I upgrade the head unit but don't change the speakers

You don't have to but I would recommend it. I ran the 4200 for over a year with no amp. I added an amp about two months ago and it's significantly better sounding.

I have a ?. Do you know how to mirror with an Android. I can mirror my gf's apple, with a $50 hdmi adapter for the lightning cable. However, when i try the same with my Android, it does not work. It also didn't give me the hdmi option in the smart phone section.

One more question. Can you use apple Car play with bluetooth

@@akqjtn i just got the 2440 also highly recommended over 2018 or 2019 models same screen as yours i believe, hd radio, mastro, lower controls, tilt screen, in 2018 they took these features away unless you pay $899 list- sale $499 11/19- i paid $299 a steal - click my icon pic. for video

Nice review, does it ever happen thatwhen you cinnect androind auto you get a black screen with a message for a split second stating to use the hand brake and then it disappears and it works fine. I installed the micro bypass but i always get that message for a split second everytime i connect the android auto

i thought changing my ford double unit to pioneer nex4200 would put my uber on screen that did not happen

Here's a tip: upgrade the firmware before installing the bypass. Some firmware udates will cancel out your bypass.

what do you mean by that? I just installed a 4200nex with a micro bypass and its not working. it needs an update but what do you mean by "upgrade it first"??
