No. . Every body miss Richard. When he died, David mentioned that the band was really over. We still don't realize Richard Wright's fabulous contribution. He was the base of the pyramid from which David Gilmour's immense guitar virtuosity could fly to its summit. Waters often relied on this basis to emphasize itself as well. And how many times he himself radiated from the base to the top with here an electric piano melody, and there with the deep sound of an organ to make the biggest cathedrals pale. One only has to think of Echoes, without his genius for writing music on his instruments, this piece would not have reached such a peak. Listen to all the majesty of his support at the end when the acoustic guitar playin in this song. . . Sublime!. . . Rick Wright was an essential piece to this eternal group. (Excuse my English, I am French but from the bottom of my heart, that is my opinion).

This song is a masterpiece. My favorite song of all time. I was 16 years-old when I first heard it and just fell in love with it and it's taken me nearly 30 years to truly understand the lyrics ("...leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground...to a life consumed by slow decay", "...looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us...to a glimpse of how green it was on the other side") . I now have a 16 year-old son myself. He recently heard me listening to the song and said, "Who's that? It's really good." I sat down with him and told him how much the song meant to me and told him to listen to it again 30 years later to see if the meaning of the song grows over time for him too. I can only hope he'll be telling my grandkids years from now how much the song means to him...and his dad.

You know I'm 19, and this song makes me cry every time I hear it. I may have grown up in the 70s, but I still hung out with my friends, sometimes all of them on the same day cuz most of us lived close to each other. Every weekend we'd go play at another friend's house, or go between our houses. I miss those days, and the ones I never experienced.

Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young In a world of magnets and miracles Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary The ringing of the division bell had begun Along the Long Road and on down the Causeway Do they still meet there by the Cut? There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps Running before time took our dreams away Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground To a life consumed by slow decay The grass was greener The light was brighter With friends surrounded The nights of wonder Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again Dragged by the force of some inner tide At a higher altitude with flag unfurled We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world Encumbered forever by desire and ambition There's a hunger still unsatisfied Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon Though down this road we've been so many times The grass was greener The light was brighter The taste was sweeter The nights of wonder With friends surrounded The dawn mist glowing The water flowing The endless river Forever and ever

Just a total masterpiece. Conceptually unique. The major/minor chord progression throughout allowing gilmour and wright to work delicately around the root notes. The church bell in the off beat., the complexity of the lyrics that evoke a storyboard in the mind. The pace of the song. The way prattys bass plays select notes only to leave space for the song the breath. How do you compose this?!! The snare rolls in the middle eight balanced with the strings. The solo at the end. It’s a one off. In 200,years they will be playing pink floyd. It’s in a level of the greatest artists and poets. One song listened a thousand times each time evoking a different emotion. Incredible

David Gilmour is a perfect icon of True Music that touchs our soul and heart. David describes our feelings, thoughts, sadness using poetry. Eternally thank you. I hear David since 6 years and I am almost 50. God bless you David.

Unbelievable performance. I like that it does not have lights, smoke and lip singing. This is true talent I'm glad I've got to witness it. Masters in their musical skills The new generation has no idea what true talent is.

Pink Floyd is the music of my soul! I was born in the USSR and first heard their music in 1979. They were Animals. I was 12 years old, but I was struck by the depth and volume of sound. Since then, Pink Floyd has been a model of musicality, sound and depth for me. A low bow to David Gilmore, Nick Mason and Roger Waters, in memory of Richie Wright. Your creativity has defined and my passions on life. I have played drums in various bands for over 18 years. To this day I am fond of music and write songs. Thank you and God bless you!!!

This man is a special human being! I have no other words to describe it. He has the ability to invoke so many deep feelings & emotions and he does it so effortlessly! I find myself just shaking my head each and every time I listen to this, as if it's almost not a song, but an experience! An absolute master at his craft. Bravo, David!!!
