It seemed to me that I was the ONLY ONE who got on this! I was buzzing off him. I don't see how that isn't the most noticeable thing about this video, after the amazing rendition by David Gilmour (in a league of his own I believe. The man is early 70's here cool as ya like, no bouncing about giving it ego as most) I had to bring it to every person's attention I've watched it with. As one post here says yea look who he's playing with. I said that smile is him saying"WOW I'm Drumming with DAVID GILMOUR...!!!!! Soon as I seen him. Love this version

I like Eddie Van Halen's reason for loving David Gilmore. "David Gilmore is the benchmark of less being more. He has proved that shredding and fast playing is not the benchmark of mastery level. Gilmore never wastes a note; he builds his solos like a painter; every note, every bend, every tonal inflection has merit...David's solos paint a picture in the minds of his listeners. Something that really is a testament of his talent as a guitar player"

Lost my grandfather 2 weeks ago, his favorite band was Pink Floyd. He had the full "The Wall" cd set in his home. I remember asking him, as he lay in his bed, unable to move much or speak much from the cancer that had spread through his body, if he wanted to listen to some Pink Floyd. He just simply smiled at me, eyes still a brilliant blue, and nodded. I am glad I got to enjoy this song with him, before he slipped intro the ever after, 2 days later. It has been stuck in my head since. I miss you Papa.

A couple other versions, where at the end Gilmour makes that Strat absolutely scream with anguish and despair is like nothing I have ever come out of a guitar before. A guitar player poster on one of these vids said that he didn't even know what the sound was...he had zero idea how that sound was made on guitar. Name them, Page, Clapton, Van Halen, whomever, for my money while all those top players are phenomenal players, Gilmour is transcendent. SO much raw emotion in this song. IMHO no one comes close.
