I read a few german children's books as a kid/teen so I was totally unsurprised by this and the end.

I loved how the owners looked like the pets they chose! It reminded me so much of that scene in 101 Dalmations PS: I'm still mad how the pig couldn't escape it's fate though

Well, the pig wanted to be loved and he was. In th darkest twist of irony.

i think this qualifies as one of the first perfectly cut moments in yt animation

I was 75% sure that it would be a fake out ending.... Still was not happy with it personally.. I would rather have a double fake out where it looks like he is a succeling pig and he is just getting fed an apple, then you get a double twist at the end and less angry people..... Animation is great though

Smol Arts I thought so too, I was looking forward to it! I really did think that he was eventually going to get adopted by someone and given a great home and lots of love; there are people that choose different or unusual animals to be their pets sometimes. Instead of the typical dog, cat, or goldfish, some people get tarantulas, sugar gliders, and yes, pigs. In this video you could clearly see that this pet shop sold exotic animals as pets as well, so it's not like the pig was out of place in the store. I felt so betrayed by the ending; I was so ready to see him gain a loving owner just like the other animals!😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Why should it have a happy ending? There is a message behind the film. And it's very sad. It's supposed to show how the reality is and the reality for those pigs is always an dissgusting and poor end. Why should it leave you with the thought that everything is alright because of the happy end, when it's not in reality?

Note of advice: they're the smartest normal pet. Exotic pets are sometimes smart, depending on the animal, but pigs are really smart.
