I hope his owners are highly motivated and consistently active, especially once the initial novelty wears off. A walk around the block and 20 minutes of frisbee in the park are not enough for these dogs. They'll eat a 10 mile run for breakfast in the morning and then sit there looking at you wondering when the day is going to begin.

Looks like Pierce won the lottery 💗 Happy tears 😍 My advice, as a previous Belgian Shepherd owner; shower him with tons of love, give him clear rules, let him be part of the family and you will have a companion for years and years and years. BelgianS tend to live an average of 3-4 yrs longer than GermanS. And YES, they are calm and easy, when they get enough of activity and their wonderful brains are kept busy. I'm soooo happy for Pierce! He has a wonderful New family and beautiful home! He will have the best of care for the rest of his life! And it all started with the good, kind heroes of ARC of SoCal rescuing the poor pup on the side of hot road. Thank God for the selfless rescuers! 🙏🙏 ❤❤

I am so happy for Pierce. He had such wonderful people who rescued him, treated him to bring him back to good health & then found him the perfect loving family. He will have a great life with his forever family including his fur siblings. Thank you for all you do.

My eyes want to tear up -- such a long way that Pierce came. All I can say is thank you so much to the rescuers for picking Pierce up. Thank you to the family that adopted him. You can see he is receiving training, discipline, love, shelter. Everything a dog needs. HAPPY ENDING

Pierce's ears sticking up over the food bowls at approx 4:27, as he watches his mom make dinner, is adorable.

I remember seeing the news of his rescue. His paws were burned from lying on the road and could not move away from the sun, the heat, the burning until someone rescued him!!!!!

I can certainly see why Pierce's family was picked. A dog could not get a more Malinois fit home, with loving and exciting Mom, Dad and sibling. Wonderful story.

Go ahead, everyone, call me what you want to. I'm a grown that's a little ornery, doesn't take any 💩, and doesn't like most people. However, each time I watch this video, I wipe my eyes a lot. And it's not seasonal allergies, either. The trust in Pierce's eyes reduces me pretty quickly. God bless Pierce, his rescuers, caregivers, and his nrw mom and dad!

If I was Pierce's rescuer I would have driven him to Indiana myself just to have a few more precious days together. As it was we could all tell how difficult it was for Kirk to let the beautiful dog he had rescued go. But now it's on to the next rescue for this good and kind man.

Watched his rescue and so glad he healed and found his forever home!!

The work you all have done for this puppy is truly a blessing. Whoever abandoned this handsome boy didn’t deserve him. the beginning of his new life with such caring parents is just heartwarming. Thank you for posting an update on Pierce. Many were thinking about him and hoping for the absolute best. I know I was🥹

Seeing that dog say goodbye to that fine gentleman that rescued him, how beautiful but sad, but beautiful at the same time, just so beautiful to see a human being being so happy for the dog and bittersweet cause that dog stole a piece of his heart, but that man has a huge heart for animals

That definitely helps. Sadly, to offer top notch diet, activity and healthcare in this country (for animals AND humans), you really do need to have quite a bit of disposable income. Meat, organic food, and supplements are expensive, so is a nice big yard and a lake house.

That's awesome that her doggies get homemade food. That's so much healthier than the canned or boxed stuff which has so many fillers and cheap oils.

This dog belonged to somebody at some point who took very good care of him. Obviously he was found abandoned on that roadway in California but I don’t think he was abandoned. His teeth were white, he was calm and in good shape. And you can tell by the first walk with the new owners that he was trained. I hope all was done in CA to find his owners. Either way he is in a good spot now, just hope no one in CA is in heartbreak because their dog ran away and got himself lost.

They couldn't have picked a better home for Pierce. And that beautiful older GSD is probably going to get a few extra years because of the love he receives from his new baby brother.

I've had dogs for more than 40 years. Got my first ever Belgian Malinois two years ago. Will never have another kind of dog. If you watch the video you will see how smart and sweet Belgians are. The one I have is by far the smartest dog ever, and just as loving if not more so than any other dog I have had, and I grew up with retrievers and labs.

You can see that his forever home is with people who have knowledge about dog training and having working breeds! So awesome that their are still rescues that care about breeds and their characteristics and needs and try to find the best homes for those dogs! Really cool to watch!

Another one wins the canine lottery as I call it. Rescue is such a rewarding experience. I have been doing it for about 15 years and just recently was asked to foster a Giant Schnauzer that was one of many dogs seized from a property in a rural setting. It was in Mid January of this year, the ground was perma frozen, the ice was thicker and the dogs only had a scarce bit of hay to have for under comfort. 2 litters of puppies in less than 4 months and the last litter ripped away from her too soon. She was shaved to the skin, emaciated and thirsty for love. It was a foster fail, epic at that. We adopted her and she is on a perma spa now living her best life. A massive triple snaps to the SPCA of British Columbia for their continued work on this front. It is heart wrenching, but in the end it beautiful. Our girl is now the third in our pack and safe for the rest of her life with us. I love Pierce's new home and Mum and Dad's commitment to excellence of their pack. Pawsitively wonderful.
