Peter Jones Is Amused By 22-Year-Old Entrepreneur After Being Branded "Too Old" | Dragons' Den

Ойын-сауық

Young entrepreneur, Edward Hollands, pitches his promising idea to turn commercial trucks into mobile billboards for business clients. Edward is off to a great start but his inability to give a breakdown of his business figures leaves dragons unimpressed. Can this "baby faced" entrepreneur turn things around and manage to secure a grown-up deal?
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

    Its so interesting how perception is reality. Because what I see with the US Shark Tank are many more investable ideas, products and people. Yes including young people. I like Dragons Den very much and have watched many pitches, as I have Shark Tank. But Dragons Den does far fewer deals than Shark Tank. I dont know why and Im not trying to talk up Americans over anyone but we do see a lot better ideas, products and entrepreneurs on the American Shark Tank. Which is why we see many more deals done on there.

    After you watch a few of them, you hear them mention that they each specialize in certain markets. Most people come trying to sell some sort of product and Jenny just doesn't have the expertise to make a decision to invest off an "elevator pitch." The only reason she probably invested in him is because advertisement is something she dealt with while investing in financing.

  • @svampebob007

    @svampebob007

    4 жыл бұрын

    Like Puppy Shark said, they all have specialties, after watching a lot of the clips, I've noticed that she does actually try to invest, but she's often get undercut or the entrepreneurs don't see her as viable thus leading her to say "well if you're just talking to them I'm out". you can see her getting annoyed/offended when she offers 25% first, then the other offer 20% and swoop the deal. I kinda feel bad, but I also noticed she's trying to invest in growth potential, not always "quick and easy money", while the other dragons try to invest in stuff that already has been proven and are more interested in investing in sure things but requires their connection to succeed.... so more often then not it will look like she's always out of the deal because she can't compete with the others. On the one hand you got dragons that have way more experience and money then Jenny, on the other she's giving people a chance and also has a potential to make her money back and then some.

    He is exactly what the UK needs, someone with get up and go in them. He will make a go of it and I have no doubt that he will succeed. A future millionaire in the making and bringing employment which is always good. Best of luck mate.

    @@drivenmedia4378 I'm really sorry for the winding-up of your company, I sincerely hope (I'm sure you'll make it) that you will make it someday, hopefully in a more respectful way to the workers (delocalizing your production in Turkey is not ethical because working conditions are terrible in that country, and the tracking by GPS of trucks is not very cool, the drivers cannot take a break, go for a walk or take a pi** without everybody knowing it, etc.)

    Sometimes it's good to show that you can make instant and accurate decisions and I feel he did EXACTLY the right thing in saying Yes, immediately because if Jenny had wavered(it has been known, lol ) he would have been "Up The Swanee Without A Paddle"..😀
