Well, how about not being so selfish and keeping a large wild animal in your home in a cage outside or in your kitchen? I don´t care how well you think you can handle this, just the way you are feeding it (stepping back as it goes for the food) should make a light go off in your head that this is not what a normal or intelligent person has in their kitchen. I don´t care if you´ve been "trained" to handle this, (if you actually work with animals you´re a disgrace having the knowledge yet keeping this kind of pet in your home). They say humans are the most intelligent species on our planet. Think abou tthat; you have a croc as a pet, you cannot even feed it safely, you have it in your kitchen. Holy crap lady does that sound like something an intelligent species does? I cannot even call you stupid, because maybe you are just not all together in the head. It is definitely one or the other. I certainly hope nothing bad happens ie the croc harming you, at the same time it would be a better world if people like you lost all rights to own any living thing again. If you have a croc in your house, you are not even responsible enough to own a hamster. On the other hand, it´s not really your fault; our government is the only developed country that allows citizens to own these wild animals legally. The only other legal places to own these type of animals are underdeveloped countries. So stupid and wacko people are going to get them until governments ban this kind of stuff. A wild animal, even a racoon, does not belong in your home as a pet. I can go on forever, at your age you´d think intelligence would one day settle in; apparently it never will. Just plain stupid.

Jay Moralis most people feed their reptiles with tongs or metal chopsticks for both their safety and the animals. This isn't Crocodile exclusive. It teaches them that Tongs mean food and nothing else. It prevents accidental bites when they're young and keeps them safe and calm other than when the tongs are out for handling when they're adults. This Croc would have a special relationship with its owners and people unfamiliar they would treat like cats would. Unless you are familiar to them. They aren't stupid either they are just different than mammals. This is a very well trained Croc by the looks of it and they said they raised it from in the egg. They most likely have a pool somewhere on their property just for it. I've seen people with pet Gators also that have permission to have them with correct surroundings and care by the government.

As someone who raised and cared for reptiles all my life, I KNOW eventually her buddy will grow to a size that will dictate that SHE will become food. And we will then read the news story that a woman was found either dead or missing. You do not, can not train such a wonderful creature to think of a person as anything more than a food source, either what the person provides, or what the person BECOMES. The animal will one day become hungry enough to kill her or someone else close-by enough to become the meal.

king Thor a wolf is very much like a dog. Crocs are reptiles and are totally different. Do you think that all animals are the same? Try domesticating a polar bear or a hippopotamus. You will find both on KZread but those are huge exceptions. There is even one guy who visits a wild croc and swims with him every day. But that’s 0ne croc in a million that would allow that. There are always exceptions.

***** Thank you for your comment, which I've only just discovered & read now ! And so I do apologize for the delay in this reply. Unfortunately though, up until now, I'd only received & had read your offensive comments, which really confused me, not knowing the reason behind them & how or why I might've offended you. Anyway, after now reading your above comment, I was very interested in learning you've had the special pleasure of owning 3 different species of Crocodiles. And I also agree it really is a special pleasure owning a Croc. I can also relate to your sadness of losing such a special animal, as I lost my first Croc many years ago, which broke my heart. I really admire you for being such a responsible Croc owner & finding good homes for your African Nile & Moreletes Crocodiles, when you realized you couldn't cope with the ongoing care they need. There's no doubt Crocs are a specialist animal to care for & very costly as well.......I myself, battle financially & go without, in an effort to try & give my Crocs the best possible care I can. There's not a lot of really good people, like yourself, who would be prepared to put the welfare of their Crocs first & go to the effort of finding a good home for it. It's really nice to hear how much you appreciated your time spent with your Crocs too. I've heard, too many times, of Crocs dying in captivity due to lack of care, or otherwise, being let go in the wild (where they would suffer & die as a result), coz of being in the hands of irresponsible owners.......which is really sad. And thank you very much also for complimenting me on my videos & the care of my Crocs too......It's very much appreciated !!

***** Hi Justin, nice to meet you & I'm so glad we soughted that out (with your brother's comments, i mean). When I first received read those comments, I checked out your KZread channel, & that's what confused me, as you appeared to be a nice person with a genuine interest in reptiles. Anyway, like I said, I persevered looking through all the comments posted on here, til I eventually found your original & interesting comment......and am so glad i did now ! I'm afraid I haven't much time to reply now, as am always so busy, looking after all my reptiles, including Crocs......keeps me vry busy & broke too.....lol ! I loved reading your above comment, & again, have only just now discovered it too. You certainly sound like a very responsible person & a true reptile/croc lover, who has at least done some research into the care of crocs, to know how much space they need.....I admire that in you. I recommend a very good website to read re- the care of crocs: Crocodilian Captive Care FAQ (Caiman, Alligator, Crocodile) This site was put together by a zoologist I know & includes just about all you need to know. As for me, my interest in reptiles began when i was just 4 years old & kept lizards as pets, & by the age of 10 rs old, I got my first pet Python. At the age of 6 yrs old, I became fascinated in Crocs, but didn't get my first Croc til another 12 years later. As for your feelings about crocs being intelligent, I couldn't agree with you more. I learned this from my first pet Croc way back in 1979.....My pet Crocs have taught me way more than anything i've read in a book or on the internet. I believe Crocs are very intelligent !! I love what you said about Respecting Crocs......My crocs taught me to show them Respect & they respect me back. I often try to educate people "Crocs not only Deserve to be respected, but they Deserve to be respected" !! I think we think alike about Crocs, Justin, & it's very nice to meet someone else (you) who perceives Crocs like I do. Are you on Facebook, by any chance ?? If you are, please feel welcome to add me, Vicki Lowing, okay. And check out my Facebook page too, if you like: Crocs N' Critters Wildlife Demonstrations. Sorry again for the delay in this reply, but like i said, i've only just come across it now......Your above comment had actually been marked as Spam. Anyway, take care & hope to talk again, Cheers, Vicki

***** Hi Justin, thanks for your reply, which I found interesting, in reading more about the Crocs you had. And Yes, I can relate very well to the cost involved in caring for a Croc, not to mention, the dedication & time, as well, etc. I can also well relate to having a finger shredded......actually it was my thumb which was shredded down to the bone, by my first Croc, name Rocky, who was a Salty. It was an accident & entirely my fault, but man, was it a very painful wound ! As you can imagine, I boast quite a few scars, on my hands, arms, feet & legs. Freshwater Crocs (Crocodylus johnstoni) are quite aggressive/defensive crocs, in comparison with the Salties. The Salty doesn't have to be defensive......if he/she wants to harm or kill you, he knows he has the power to do so. The Freshies are so quick to nip you & have razor sharp teeth too. My oldest Freshie, Johnie, who is now 18 yrs old, will only nip me for a reason, eg. if I accidently knock her with my foot. Anyway, mate i could sit here & write for hours, but it's now way past my bedtime, so I'll keep this short & talk again soon. And yeah, i'd love to have a pet Perentie, aye......they're magnificent looking monitors. I actually have 2 pet Lace Monitors, who are pretty cool too :) Take Care Hugs, Vicki

I love seeing humans and animals bond in different ways. In Bangkok, we had entire herds of crocs that we would spend hours watching. The local mafia kept them to make people disappear they didnt like, but we loved them and threw them chicken and gave them names. I am convinced all animals have as strong and complex a range of emotions as humans, and should be treated with respect.

Thank you so much for your comment, Ivan......it's not often I receive a comment from someone like you, who feels exactly the same way I do about bonding with animals. And I know from my experience in keeping Crocs (and many other animals too), they do have as strong and complex a range of emotions as humans. And I believe, just as you said, all animals should be treated with respect, & love too......Crocs, in particular (coz they are an apex predator), demand & deserve to be respected, aye. :)

Thank you Heracles Theodoros 2, for your comment. It's really nice to hear your favourite reptiles are crocodiles. They are beautiful and very intelligent animals and are so much nicer to see in their natural environment in the wild. My crocs were all adopted by me and were also captive bred and raised. I love my Crocs with a passion and that's what it takes to be able to bond with one, which can also take years of hard work and a lot of patience. They also require specialist care to keep, as well as dedication and a life-long commitment too !

Bill I was fairly correct in his reply to you. My Croc does understand the word gentle, however, she doesn't understand everything I say to her. But she does respond to a lot of what I say to her. And yes, there is always a possibility she might turn on me one day.....after all she is a crocodile !! And Thank you too for complimenting my videos.....I appreciate it very much :)

I'm not really a nay-sayer on this. I've always had a soft spot for reptiles, and I think this would be great. I love dogs, but their life span is heartbreaking to say the least. If you really live with it, and get to know it, any animal can have that kind of bond most common with canines. A majority of the population of crocodiles have shown to live quite long, so as care and housing may be expensive, you'll never have to worry about burglary. "Let's take the electron-HOLY CRAP THERE'S A CROCODILE ON THE COUCH."
