Honestly they're so damn smart. Alot of people don't know this, but they actively try to play around and have fun in the wild. There's been some found using little spillways as a slide, then climbing back up and sliding down a few more times lol. No other reason behind it other than it wanted to go slide.
I love how a fearsome predator like thay can also be such a gentle mom 😭❤️

Aware might be too strong a term for what is likely genetic instinct (ie genetically preprogrammed brain pathways that control/influence behaviour). Awareness would imply that they would do something else without being shown what to do first, and that's probably not the case.
