The absolute choke hold LoveSpell had on society scares me

Love spell, sweet pea, lucky, and the purple crush were the scents of my childhood!

I had my first signature scent in 6th grade with Sunflowers. That with my clear mascara & Bonnie bell lip gloss made me feel like a little boss. I graduated in 2001. My highschool boyfriends mom for Christmas gave all her nieces and her sons gfs Victoria secret packages with the sprays and lotions . I was lucky and got the love spell . I thought of it smelling like the color purple. In the early 2000’s I wore the Anna Sui perfume that was a pink ombré butterfly shape even though I didn’t like the scent I just liked her brand and the bottle 😅. Also early 2000’s I wore Lolita lempicka. It was a really amazing scent in a swirly purple apple bottle. It had a similar scent vibe to Flower Bomb that I wore in the 2010’s.

Stop it right tf now Jenna. I was born in ‘95 and Vera Wangs “Princess” is my signature scent lmaoooo. ❤💀

My mom gave me Vera Wang princess as a high school graduation present in 2008, and now the smell takes me back to sitting in my econ lecture hoping the cute boy in my class noticed i was wearing a gallon of it.

The Calvin Klein scent will always be iconic

I also had the Ralph Lauren Blue one and DKNY green apple, I loved that the perfume bottle was shaped like an apple. Also, you look super super pretty in this video!!!

I was born in 84 and Vera Wang "Princess" and Jessica Simpson's "Fancy" have been my absolute faves that I still wear since like 2006.

I just picked up a gift set of Vera Wang's Princess from JC Penney's over Black Friday this year!! Normally would never even look at Penney's, but they always have great Black Friday deals on boots and sheets, plus the gift sets in Cx. Also I live in Canada, where Sears folded. Any remaining Sears stores in the US are sad. But Penney's is somehow still thriving. I love the carpeting, and the smells, and the merchandising, and the circle cash register, manned by perfectly coifed ladies in their 60's. It felt like a warm hug from the Sears I missed. But that's besides the point, which is Vera Wang Princess. I forgot how much I used to love that fragrance, and wasn't even aware it was still in production. When I saw a gift set, I snatched it up quick, and have been enjoying a daily spritz, since my purchase 💜

I'm 32 and I still wear both of those! 😅 However I customized the Vanilla Body Spray by adding organic essential oils to it: Neroli, Tangerine, Sweet Orange, Vanilla. It smells like a not-too-sweet Orange Creamsicle.

One of my fave scents from the 2010 celeb fragrance era, was hands down, Wonderstruck by Tay Tay. I wish she had never discontinued it. Not only was the bottle cute, with the purple and gold, and the charms, but it was such a nice light citrus floral scent. I couldn't even allow myself to dream about a re-release, simply because Swifty madness is real, and her fans would eat it up, in a heartbeat. I still have a half bottle left, which I use so sparingly.

Warm Vanilla Sugar from bath & body works is my favorite scent. And my second favorite scent from bath & body works is Japanese Cherry Blossom.

Not the PINK square body sprays 😩 All the girls wore those! My over done scent is Pink Sugar 💀 I used to wear the lotion, perfume, roll on glitter …. It was WAY too strong lol. I gag a little when I smell it now.

There’s a company called fragrance revival that remakes dupes of discontinued scents and they have bottled emotions. I remember having one of those as a teen but don’t remember which. Tribe was a scent that brings me right back to cold mornings and walking to school.

Ralph by Ralph Lauren was the scent of my whole life in middle school 😂 I had the whole gift set with lotion and body wash and omg I bathed in all of it. Also the light blue and pink Escada perfume I forgot the name. And also Just me by Paris Hilton! I still love those scents, they hold up perfectly today. My version of a really fancy perfume that I would use like twice a year cause I thought it was the fanciest thing ever was this dolce and gabana perfume my aunt got me for Christmas in seventh grade! I don’t even remember if I liked it but I thought it was liquid gold it lasted me all the way to college 😂 but I think Ralph was my favorite ugh I’m gonna go buy a bottle

I still have some gap ones. I got them at gap factory and you’re right the grass does smell different. So i just got heaven and dream.

I somehow missed Bottled Emotions as a 90s kid, though. That one went right past me.

Omg DKNY Red Delicious was my fragrance. Thank you so much, it was wonderful to go back and remember those frgrances.

Midnight fantasy by britney spears was my go to as well as several VS bodysprays of course

Flirty was my emotion! I still have the last bottle I used up so i can try and find something that smells like it lol I've recently been thinking of Juice Bar, i got the lemonade scent for Christmas in like 7th or 8th grade and kinda want to smell it again for nostalgia. CK One, that scent is burned into my mind as what 6th grade and Y2k smells like to me 😂

this was a great podcast. Merry Christmas from one class of 05 to another! So maybe this is too embarassing but I am sharing anyway, I'm writing a fanfic set in '94 and Sun/Moon/Stars is actually the PERFECT perfume to describe the as-yet-unnamed fruity/woodsy/floral perfume of one of my main characters so I'm going to write it in as that ... OMG dying LOL

Girl. Every one of these has me remembering things I had totally forgotten. We're the same age and I grew up in small town Nebraska. So similar. Everything.

I still have some of these bottles in a drawer. I couldn’t remember what Ed Hardy smelled like but I knew I was obsessed for a time. I smelled it tonight and do not stand by it! Love Burberry Brit and VS Very Sexy though. Britney Spears Curious was my signature scent through high school and college (we’re roughly the same age) and I still stand by that! SJP Lovely was great too. I’ve always tended toward dark, clovey, woodsy, really rich scents so aside from Burberry Brit, I often had to go out of the box to find things.

Juicy Couture perfume was the best and I loved Jessica Simpson Desserts that were a short-lived 2005 drugstore scent trend. The cupcake one was my favorite. Walgreens was where I bought it. I remember everything. I first saw it in a magazine ad and they were advertising it coming out soon and I wrote down the launch date and asked my grandma to get me the cupcake one the day it came out while I was in school because I was certain it would sell out fast. It didn’t and it soon got discontinued 😂. But I loved and still love sweet scents.

The fact that you didn’t add visuals throughout this video is heartbreaking 😅 The thumbnail just isn’t enough for me lol

Escada Rockin'Rio and Clinique Happy were my first fancy perfumes :) and of course we used different Avon / Oriflame body mists and perfumes.

I remember the first time i smelled a Britney Spears perfume. I was in Kohls and wanted to see what it smelled like. I still regret it to this day. What makes it worse is that I don't remember which one it was. The only way I could describe it at the time was a unicorn sweating cotton candy. Yeah, sounds odd I know. However, there were quite a few perfumes from that time that actually smelled so good. I still have some of them on my shelf. Does anyone else remember the perfume, Tribe? That was the first one that popped into my head when I saw the title of this video.

I live in Canada and the stopped selling Dream here. I remember seeing the ads in my YM and Seventeen mags, and loving the sample page, that just smelled like magazine print. My Aunt was a nurse, who did a year term in Hawaii. I begged her to look for Gap Dream for me, and send it to me. When it arrived, I hated it. Thought it smelled like cat pee. So disappointing!! I have no idea why it was so popular, but I totally remember it being a thing.

Yes, we all have that one scent that almost gags us! For me, it is Bath and Bodyworks Plumeria, which was sprayed all over my middle school gym locker room everyday. Now I cannot separate that smell from the sweaty locker room smell😂

In middle school, I had three of the Bonnebell Bottled Emotions sprays in Flirty, Sassy, and Playful. I did have the Gap's So Pink and Dream in the mini bottles as well in middle school. Actually, at the Gap Factory in about 2015 in my state, I bought the Gap's Blue and So Pink, which was in a spray bottle. Sadly, the top was loose and leaked all over in my purse. Do you remember Body Fantasies? I had a few in high school, and a bunch now! In high school, I had one of Mary Kate and Ashley's sprays in some light orange/yellow bottle called like Jasmine Freesia, or something close to that. It smelled fruity, and had a bit of glitter in it. I had the Body Fantasies spray in Cotton Candy. I had two mini Body Fantasies sprays in Brown Sugar and another spicy sugary scent. My friend also bought me a mini musk smelling perfume that I liked. Remember Love's Baby Soft? I had a small rectangular perfume of it. It just smelled like baby powder. Ooh, I had Raven Symone's perfume that came with the roll on stick. I liked how it smelled like sugar cookies! It was so good! I think I threw out the stick. I had a perfume bottle that featured Belle from "Beauty and the Beast." Both Raven and Belle came from a place called Perfumania or something similar. From Walgreens, I also had a miniature Barbie perfume where you took off the top to lightly dab your wrists. It was super small.

Once I hit college, I had more "name brand" body sprays. I had one body spray from Hollister that had a hibiscus on it. I'm not sure what it was called, but it was fruity smelling. I had two Victoria Secrets body sprays. One was "Pure Seduction," like you mentioned. I thought it smelled so good! It was like raspberries. I had another VS body spray like "Pure Seduction," but a lighter pink in color, and more sweet and fruity. Do you know what that could've been? I never bought "Love Spell," or the squared PINK body sprays. Kind of niche, but I had three, tall, thin aerosol bottles of the So?... body sprays from Target. They were So Kiss Me, So Sinful, and So Wild. I still have So Kiss Me in my car, and have had it since 2009. 😅 I had a pack of four Calgon sprays from KMart with these DELICIOUS scents including Marshmallow, Red Velvet, Cotton Candy, and Creamsicle! I found that pack again on Amazon! I may buy them for old time's sake. Yes, and who can forget Ed Hardy? I had a mini bottle of the white perfume. It smelled so good!

Did anyone else see they have packs of lip smackers on Amazon now? I’m curious to smell them again

Was totally spaced on Bottled Emotion until I looked it up, & omg what a blast from the past! Definitely had the pink "flirty" one with the lips at some point. Was a bit younger & more focused on color and packaging than scent 🤦‍♀️ Totally agree on Bath & Body Works starting the fragrance obsession, but initially same deal with that, it was about packaging and we were all about "Art Stuff" 😳 I don't remember anyone I knew into GAP fragrances though (possibly because our mall didn't have one), I would say the scent of the late '90s/very early 2000s was Cucumber Melon in my area. It wasn't bad (imo) but I don't care if I never smell it again. I got my fill, and then some, back then lol First major scent I ever got was Glow by JLo. Saw it in an ad in 2002 and somehow talked my Dad into giving me $ to buy it. So wish I still had it because it was literally the only scent in my eventual collection that my Dad had anything to do with. Tommy Girl (Shimmer) became my "signature scent" from like '02 to '04. Had never smelled Tommy Girl, so was entirely convinced Shimmer was different and superior 😂 Ironically Lucky You is my Warm Vanilla Sugar 🤢 I got a deluxe sample, essentially a mini, when I started high school in '04 and went on a fragrance shopping spree. I think I got Escada Island Kiss, Curve Crush, & something that escapes me. I was not about "wasting" the perfume I liked on 645am bus rides and school freshman year, so I started wearing my Lucky sample everyday. I now totally associate it with the exhaustion I felt getting up that early, the burnt smell of the heat being on in the bus, and just general misery lol

But, at the same time, in early 10s through like 2017 it was a staple of every Swedish tween girl's vanity. A collection of several VS body mists in different colors in those cute old design bottles was a common thing to have over there.

Jessica Simpson Fancy had an edible body lotion and it tasted so good, it was like vanilla. I had it in middle school and it was my favorite thing ever 😂 I always wondered why it was edible “but what’s the point” now I know and I wish I could use it for real haha

Ok who remembers Love Hangover by Too Faced? 😭 YSL Mon Paris kind of reminds me of it

I know people remember Juice Bar body sprays. I had the gummy bear one with Leighton Meester on the front holding the two giant gummy bears. (This was the one without glitter). My mom let my little brother into my room, and he spilled it all over. She threw it away. Looking back, I wasn't too mad, but now I'm disappointed! It smelt so good! Plus, it was little Leighton before she became Queen Bitch Blair Waldorf. 😂
