Been cutting for almost 50 years this July.. I have never thought about adjusting the tension bar, I took it for granted that the Factory setting were correct. Very good video.. Even Old dawgs can learn something new.

I was dead in the water with my trimmer. I took it apart to clean and it was never the same. I followed your video with the blade alignment and tensioner and now it works better than when I bought it! I appreciate your professionalism. Thank you.

That "snap" is the key to it bro thanks...............trimmer sharper than brand new now
Setting that tension and removing that back screw has my liners hitting way better thanks.
I been cutting 25 years ain't never knew this omg fire video bro
Thanx a whole lot Fam it's 3 am in Houston TX. and I followed your instructions and got my joints right. I even adjusted my wahl t linners. I appreciate the free game RNS.
I had some Outliner IIs that I've had for over 25 years...they quit working so I took them apart and cleaned them up. Still wouldn't cut. I literally threw them in the trash and was ready to waste $90 on a new pair. I watched this video and you got me up and running again like they're brand new! Thanks man.
This is the absolutely best demonstration for adjusting the tension on the Andis Outliner trimmers
This is the best quality, most detailed T-outliner video I have found. 5 stars, thank you!

I wanna thank you champ! You save me from throwing away my favorite Andis clippers. I took my Andis apart to clean them and could put it back together. When to Sally's Beauty Store and was told they don't repair or sharpen blades any longer , what a blower 🤦 So I came home and started searching for instructional videos and came across yours... Thanks for your instructions on maintaining your clippers.
I admire your professionalism, you saved me money from buying a zero gapper, thanks!
My man, I cannot thank you enough...I tried 3 different blades in one day (all zero gapped), and thought that my T-Outliners were shot...after watching your video, in 2 minutes I was back to cutting my hair...thanks so much! Appreciate your informative and easy video...you seriously helped a ton!
Thanks brotha!!! Been cutting my hair for years. I never knew about both adjustments. Despite that, as a high school teacher my students always tell me how fresh my cuts look. But I came across your video and followed both steps to the T. And it's definitely a game changer. Now my andis outliners are sharp as hell with a lot more power. My shape up looks better than my last trip to the barber. Can't thank you enough!
Yo bro , I’ve been trying to learn this technique for years. No one wants to show me . Even took my clippers to the repair shop to get them sharpened and they still weren’t hitting with that razor crisp line . Yo I looked at your video twice and tried your technique and my Andis T outliners work like “ butter “ . Yo thanks 100 fam
AD!!!! Man, you win hands down regarding adjusting Andis T-Outliner blades! I have watched several videos and yours is the most thorough as you incorporate adjusting the tension screw inside the clipper! I appreciate your instruction and am now a subscriber! Thanks a million!
Best video I've seen for adjusting clippers. I've thrown away several pair of trimmer because I couldn't adjust them properly. I followed your instructions/video, and everything came out perfect the first time!
Just did this to my t outliners and WOW! what a huge difference it makes, thank you bro!
Finally bro after 20 yrs, your vid made me scream for effin joy, thanx alot for the vid!!!!
Yo! Besides the camera not focusing, I have ZERO idea why someone would give this video a thumbs down. This is great! You're a life saver! My skin is too sensitive for a razor, and my Andis weren't cutting properly. This video changed the game! Thanks.
This is the best video out of all of them. Concise clear and clearly shows how to adjust blade and tension spring with correct position.
I always go to your videos when I'm having issues with my clippers. Thank you so much! ❤️
Concise, simple and well explained. Great video. Thank you!!!
After searching for a while I can say this is the BEST video out there for the outlines! Thanks!
No matter what came out over the past 35+ years I kept my t outliner. But as I got new blades I decided I had to find the right video! Sure glad I bumped into you! So much has improved for fading and cutting! Over the years. Glad I found you! I’ll subscribe and look for recommendations. Thank You 😊
Wow. Thanks so much. I've been pissed about these trimmers since i bought them 1 1/2 years ago. They were hardly cutting at all. I even bought a new blade at one point, still no luck. I followed your info and voila... they work great!
Thanks for the tip. My main issue was with my tension and the number one thing that worked for me was removing the second screw by the power switch. Amazing!
I am a beginner barber been cutting for almost a year, and Wow what a difference. This video helped fixing my tension and zero gapping my trimmer.👍🏽💈
Thank you so much! I've had these liners for 2 years and now they work! Completed quarantined hair cuts coming soon.
Thank you Sir, I followed your tip and now my blood pressure is normal.

Amazing tutorial. I was having trouble with my outliner not cutting properly and this definitely did the job. Cheers!
great video man, I have the same t liners for the last 12 years never adjust then only thing I ever did was change the blade. learned something new today 👍👍
Bro thank you so much man. I've been looking for a simple straight forward video. You covered everything man. Thank u.
WOW! My T-outliners are hitting so sharp and they are as smooth as butter this is perfect for this coming weekend as I’m going to be doing a ton of back to school cuts. Thank you so much!
Adrin, your a cool dude homie.alot if barbers wont take the time to show and help other barbers. RESPETO HOMIE
I haven't tried it yet, but I must say, this appears to be one of the best videos (if not the best) when it comes to adjusting the tensioner. Clear instructions, clear picture with no blur. Thanks.
Exactly what I needed no surprises. Did just what you said to do and it’s cutting like a dream. Thanks! 10/10!
I’ve been shaving my head for the last few years with a pair of Andis, this really helped me to figure out how to tune them in right. Thanks very much
bro, I truly appreciate all the knowledge u drop!
Hands down a perfect tutorial. 10/10
So Awesome! Watched this last night and adjusted my Andis T-Outliner tonight. Had some trouble after replacing blades and had no idea why....now I do. It works as god if not better than fresh out of the box. Thanks so much for this. With some practice we can all get our Andis T-Outliners dialed-in and working as well as we would like! Have an "on the money" blade setter on the way, but the mirror technique worked well for sure. Thanks a TON:))
Good vid brotha, knowledge is power.

Never knew u could adjust the tension as well, this explains a lot.. Good lookin out
Great video man! I travel for my job so I invested in these to keep me looking good while on the road. Your video got me set up right. The lines are Day n Night from before I did the steps in this video! Other thing that was annoying that you did not mention is that the slide piece can fall out of place. I kept fumbling it over and over. Thanks again!
I was procrastinating on my finals studying and came across this video. I adjusted the tension on my a día, which I had stopped using about a year ago because I got a pair of pater outliners I liked. And whoah buddy! My T outliners are hitting better than they ever have! This video is gold
Bro I absolutely want to thank you for making this video! For years I’ve been trying to get my outliner II and t outliners barber quality sharp and in my unsuccessful attempts my clippers have not been solving my razor bump issue. Your tutorial has my clippers hitting and shaving my face effortlessly. I was on the verge of throwing both of my clippers away because I thought they were too old but nope once I got that above half moon on my tension spring I was golden! Only thing is my tension spring never clicked in to place but I tightened the screw enough for the half moon and I was good also the one screw in my case trick didn’t work I needed both screws or my outliners rattled too much! Overall absolute 10/10 video thanks again!!!!
Thank you so much for teaching me how to do this. I love you ♡♡♡ and you information about how to become a better barber.
taking that bottom screw out of the casing makes the clipper more powerful was a new one on me thanks for that I appreciate it. 💯

This will also make sure the blade doesn't move as it's supposed to. Instead of side to side , it'll move in circles and back and forth therefore eventually causing damage to the tension bar.
After watch this tutorial my trimmers are rejuvenated! Thank you!!
Just wanna thank you cuz!!! 1st of the year & l finally learned how to adjust my T-0utliners with the mirror... YOU made it easy. Thanks AGAIN
Your a life saver man. I was fixing to buy new pair. My friend gave me these she said they wouldn't cut and she bought a new pair. Lol I fixed them thanks to your tutorial.
Thank you bro, i been doing this for 30 years and i knew i was doing something wrong.
Great video, we all have this problem and most have no idea why a new clipper or new blade sucks. Now, thanks to you, we all know how to fix this never ending problem. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Hey it's my first time seeing you without a hat on. You just taught me something grand! You're the best! ✌
I appreciate you sir! You gave precise instructions and got me back in the game! I've been using my T-liners for months unadjusted!
Thx Guy..I am a woman and just bought my Outliners today...I like da crisp clean cut and purchase to stop buying so many razors but I will Btryin to do myself..wish me luck😯😃
Three years ago I opened my trimmer to clean it and it was never the same. It would pull on my beard whenever I tried to trim it, and finally after watching your video I able to fix it by properly adjusting the tension. Huge thanks!
Thank you! Every tutorial that I've come across in the last few years has not helped me at all. This was easy to follow and my blades are now zero gapped with the correct tension!
This was a great video. Clear with good explanations. Third one I've watched today, but you did a fantastic job Bro. I followed every point step by step. Everything worked like a charm.
thanks man... really appreciate this video! I threw away my last pair of t outliners because I thought they were broken. all they probably needed was an adjustment lol. thanks again!!! peace

Awesome...clear, cut, and detailed instructions. I'm a fan. Subbed.
I've been cutting my own hair and going to barbers for 55 years. Liner after liner still the same dull line. I never knew to adjust both the blade and the tension. So I tested your guidance. 1st I adjusted the blade. Wow 10 times better than Ive ever adjusted my blade. It was just like going to my barber. However when I adjusted the tensioner! Game changer. Better than the line up with beard I get at the barber. Thank you brutha. This solution is the right way to adjust your blades. Peace ✌🏾
finna get my shits right
thanks fam on the vid.. great info
Man I have been having the hardest time adjusting my blades, Thank you for this video by far one of if not the best dummy proof way to adjust your clippers.
They work better now than they ever had. Appreciate that, homie 👊🏽
Thanks man! I thought that my trimmers were broken. This saved me the purchase of a new pair.

+ADTheBarber I have a question for you bro. Once I took off the top of my outliners, I noticed that the spring for the tensioner was crooked and cocked to the left. This is my first time attempting to adjust these clippers. I never dropped them or banged them beforehand. Will this be an issue for my adjustment?
Been cutting since i was 11, 35 now great vid for new barbers. RESPECT!!!
Thank you very much my brother I have one just like those and because of your helpful video my T edger is set the right way ☺

Been trying to learn how to shape my self up and my boys for a while now $80.00 a month for 12 months is almost a stack a year on hair cuts is a little crazy. I had bought a set of Andis Pivot Pro 6 years ago. Is it the same process in setting the blade on the trimmers as the t liners?

Support your local barber if you can. Learning to cut yourself is great if you can't get a appointment but your barber dedicated his life and feeds his family and the shop can be apart of the glue of the community.🍻

What does adjusting the tension do?

Puts pressure on the moving blade to create friction. Too little tension pressure and the blades will pull the hair instead cutting and too much tension will cause the trimmer to fuse out and possibly mess up the motor or the positive/negative cables that connect to the motor.

Why doesn't andis sell two different categories of trimmers... Home use and professional barber use that come pre adjusted and gapped??? I've been a barber for 20 years and still don't understand why the fuck I gotta adjust every pair of trimmers/clippers I buy???? It makes no goddamned sense to me!!!
