episode 2 is so fun! Haven't read the books but I think I'll rewatch the movies for more context lol

Yes, Dionysus drinks coke in the books. But the alcohol turning to water was a movie thing. He's just forbidden from drinking alcohol in the books.

in the book Annabeth shows the camp to Percy, but I like that Luke is getting closer to him first in the series, it makes sense to what will unravel later, also we can have a bit more time with him since Annabeth will be with Percy a lot from now on

I wish they kept the Luke sword training scene cause it explains why Percy is so good. He’s a natural with a sword himself

You'd think the daughter of Ares and the son of Poseindon would get along better, probably bonding over hatred against the daughter of the Athena. Then again, a child is not supposed to be their parents. Also, I like cold Annabeth. Nice representation of Athena's inheritance on her.

It kinda does make sense their personalities would clash upon first interactions. A child of war and bloodshed vs. a child of the sea and storms. I cant wait to see how their relationship develops as the series continues though. Once they get past these superficial aspirations like “glory” and “revenge,” of course.

One thing im so insanely impressed with in the series so far is the fight choreography... Its so much better than some literal Hollywood movies. The camera angles and the stunts they pulled are top notch and its all child actors which makes it even more impressive.

Right?? I could feel the impact and the pacing was so nice! It's almost like I could see the crews thought process while watching it. I love cinematography. Also off topic but I'd really like to give credit to the actress of Clarisse bc that scream was 👌. She's been doing such a good performance that totally sold of her character. Nice casting there.

The alcohol turning to water was actually from the second movie. In the books Mr.D is just forbidden from drinking alcohol and he just doesn't try to drink it because Zeus would know

I actually LOVE that they're representing Percy as what he is, a 12 yo kid. Yes, he's a powerful demigod, but at the end of the day, he's still a child

Everything doesn't turn to Diet Coke. Its just his drink of choice since he can't have alcohol. Spoiler: his alter ego, Baccus, prefers Diet Pepsi

I love that they really capture the essence of each character to the T despite of their physical description in the books

Even the fight was much better than the movie! I was really suprised. And people in the movie are much older than them lmao (yupp if y'all look back in the movie, alot of demigod kids were bulkier and half of them even look like they are in early 20). And just like how it said in the novel (not spoiler) percy is not good at everything except sword fighting (and i watched bts of the trio and their director, Aryan, and Walker said that he didn't know that he's tallented at sword fighting. He's really is percy)

the reason clarisse screams when her spear is broken is because it was her only gift from her father ares!

There is a detail that is bothering me: a bunch of the kids you see on screen have 5 beads/pearls on their necklace when we're told in the books that the fact that Annabeth and Luke have 5 is unique. There are also a couple details that bother me: - Why give Percy 7 days (tv show) instead of 10 (book) for his quest? - They did what the movie did and revealed that his mother is still alive so he accepts the quest. In the books, he accepts because "it's better than to be turned into a dolphin" which I find hilarious. Other than that, this episode is amazing. The adult cast is really good and so happy to recognize scenes from the book. "You drool when you sleep" is an iconic line, I'm beyond happy that they included it. And Dionysus calling him Peter Johnson makes me laugh every time. I'm so impressed by Walker's acting! Also, he does his own stunt, that is dedication. The fighting scenes are much better than I imagined! "But did you?" the sassiness of Percy coming through, I love it haha I also really like what they did with Percy this episode. Make him channel all his anger and sadness into finding his dad. While still thinking about her, talking to her and still kinda in a state of shock and denial that she's actually gone. I hope they continue to adapt iconic moments from the books. That's what makes this such an amazing adaptation so far! PS: Chiron said that all magical items are permitted during Capture The Flag, that includes Percy's sword, Annabeth's cap, Clarisse's spear and God knows what else.

I just finished rereading the lightning thief and I could be wrong but I do remember Percy saying that there were campers that had more beads, like he says in the book that Annabeth hadn’t been there the longest out of the Athena kids, some of them had 7 or 8 beads on their necklaces but Annabeth was the best of all of them so she was the head camper of the Athena cabin

As someone who loved the book series, I am so hoping this show does well so we can get more seasons. Those two live action movies truly hurt and I just want the source material to be given the chance it deserves(and perhaps even elevated) when it comes to the show. Loving the bond they're building between Luke and Percy

This series is going to be SO GOOD!!

Maybe the drummer kid is a child of Apollo, god of (among other things) music. Or, perhaps, a child of one of the Muses, goddesses of artistic inspiration.

Mr.D is forbidden from drinking alcohol in the books to by zeus cuz they fell in love with the same woman or some shit im absolutely in love Dior & Charles in their respective roles I wish we could have gotten more of Luke (but they already changed to him being the one to show him around so i liked that as Annabeth & her will have more scenes later) I wanted to see that entire Grover scene but it is what it is Either way,ep is 10 outta 10

By the way, many would trade places with Percy if it meant leaving our daily lives. If he could trade with someone who liked to be a demi-god, I wonder if he'd do it.

it's been quite dry for me so far, but it's faithful to the books so definitely better than the movies. It just feels like there's something lacking with how it's presented. Like a bunch of separate scenes slapped together? is it the post production transitions? idk.

The only thing I have against the series is how easily he's beating the monsters regardelss being a demigod of the big 3 like these monsters and been around forever just for them to taking down that easily like the Fury. Other than that I love the series need more mythological shows !👏🏽

To me Logan Lerman’s Percy was the equivalent to Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker in that they made it their own but the character was just slightly too much of a dick for it to be fateful. And then of course there’s the age and the fact this is supposed to be a coming of age story.
