Corrections: 1. No one knew that Percy was the son of Poseidon. Which is why they were trying to figure out what he’s good at. The only person that may have known is Annabeth. She had an idea of who he was. 2. Clarisse hating Percy has nothing to do with his father but more so about glory. She doesn’t like that he came into camp killing a monster and people are talking about it. He stole her thunder and she’s no happy. 3. The fades to black is probably cause there’s a ad version on Disney plus as while as it might be because of the chapters in the books. 4. It wasn’t hades that was speaking to Percy in that weird scary voice, it was Kronos. Yeah I think I covered everything? Sorry if this reaction is annoying. Kinda feel anxious about it but moving forward I’ll go with these things in mind. Thank you.

just letting you know, you weren't supposed to know about Kronos yet and this persons who told you about the voice spoiled you pretty heavily. Like book wise the mysterious voice we are not meant to know who it is until later on. I think you should perhaps make it clear you only want to know things that have been explained so far in the tv show or you might get more spoilers for the future and it could spoil the reaction?

Girl you’re not annoying at all you made me even more excited for this show and how it will progress more then I already was. I’m also one of those people who wants all the action to be just like the books but seeing you love it how it is made me so much more okay with the changes and just hyped in general. Please don’t worry about being perfect with information at all, that’s the fun in this, different interpretations and stuff as well as learning as the world/story grows. If I recall, They did not know that Percy was Poseidons son untill he claimed Percy. I assuming that Annabeth had a suspicion after the toilet thing which is why she pushed him into the water

It’s was changed by Rick, Rick has been hella hella involved in tweaking their original vision when he Co Created it. I love the additions for the most part! Grover’s acting sorta feels weird at times, but I’m looking past it since it’s only it’s like first two episodes at least!

@@superjoseivanable I agree with Gabe's character. I feel like they won't murder him now since they should show that it was justified first. 🥲 But, I wanted that scene to happen so bad. I'm okay with the Mrs. Dodds scene, I liked the way they made it seem like just a dream. The gaslighting worked well and I can feel percy's confusion and questioning of reality. I think they also saved the first battle for the minotaur.

Clarisse’s hating Percy has nothing to do with his Father. In the episode Luke talks about how Glory is everything and that’s why Clarisse hates him we also have Percy say that he’s going to make his father see him. This basically tells us that the Gods are watching them so that probably angers Clarisse because Percy who knows nothing and isn’t even claimed shows up and is said to defeat a monster with his bare hands and it makes her upset, he’s stealing all the glory.

Yeah,only in the movie is Poseidon from the beginning revealed to be Percy’s father.This is probably because in the lightning thief’s adaptation,I’m sure Annabeth and Clarisse were combined;as she fights Percy and I’m sure hates him because their parents aren’t that fond of eachother.I heard or read that in the book;the others guessed that Percy parent was one of the big 3 (Zeus,Poseidon and Hades).

@darknorman2914 The first movie did combine Annabeth and Clarisse into one person. That's why her character felt so off. They damage controlled that in the second movie but then majorly changed Clarisse's character. Now she flirted with percy more than hated him and thought it was cool when the camp got attacked. Not like book Clarisse at all. Also, Athena and Poseidon hating each other was never touched on in either of the movies.

If you wlow down the Nancy scene, you can actually see that the water behind her is bending to pull her into the fountain.

the movie got it right with ms. dodds cuz they did re-enter the museum. i think they changed it here because they wanna show that the mist was being manipulated heavier so that even mr. brunner and grover didn’t realize that dodds was a fury. i was hoping for something intense too, but it doesn’t really detract much from the story so i don’t mind as much. plus dodds is supposed to come back later on in the books so they might’ve saved the battle for that. i’m currently rereading through the lightning thief now and i didn’t realize how sad percy was in the books. imagine being abandoned by your father before he was even born. getting kicked out of school for the sixth time after trying his best to stay in. and then losing your mom too. and he was just 12 too. like…percy was going through it, but he overcame everything because of how much he loved his mom. which is why i’m really happy that the show really shows you how much percy and sally care for each other so much.

When I watched it I really liked how they made Smelly Gabe more of a bum instead of an abuser. I know it’s because ✨Disney✨ but I liked it because it didn’t give me as much of anxiety. Sally Jackson is the love of my life and I hated Gabe so much in the books.

It's interesting how people like you focus so much on how people were only upset about Annabeth's appearance before the show aired. Basically making it seem that people who didn't like it in the beginning, whether it was your intention or not, are probably racist in some ways. The fact you had to point out that you are a white man is weird and again brings focus to race.To me, race swapping an already existing character of a different appearance seems lazy to me if it's ONLY for the sake of inclusion. The thing is that it was NOT just Annabeth! It was Grover and even Percy being BLONDE that people talked about before. Annabeth is just one of the examples. It's not specifically about race. It's fans not liking people changing their beloved characters that already exist in a different form.People in general only got over their appearance because of their ACTING true in character (except for Grover-that's a whole other thing though).

You think you are going to get applause for saying this? It’s so embarrassing that White people feel like they have to bend backwards to please different races “look at me!! I’m an intellectual person! I only care about the acting🤌” her acting wasn’t even good.

To provide context for Percy's relationship with his dad, in the books Poseidon does care but a Gods definition of parental care is a lot different from our own. Percy comes to understand that over the course of several series, but the complexity of that relationship is something i really love about the series! Thats why i dont love the movies take on it because ultimately Poseidon is a God that is too busy and doesnt really care to be there the way Percy thinks a parent should and thats why Luke and many other demigods turn against them and even though Percy disagrees with bringing Kronos back, he understands why they feel abandoned by the gods because they are all very shitty parents

the episodes come out every wednesday 9pm EST. the first week was the only time they released two at once. also the reason why clarisse screamed like that when her spear broke is because it was the first and only gift her father Ares ever gave her (basically ignored her after), so it was her most treasured possession

Went into the first episodes with no real expectations and walked away so pleasantly surprised! They captured the feeling of the characters and book so well so far

Camp Half-blood looks like Camp Half-blood. Even though the cabins are shaped differently, and there are slight discrepancies, it feels like home, like Percy Jackson.

1. Adaptations should be judged on their own storytelling merit, not on how they compare to the source material. Adapting to live action demands changes because it's a very different storytelling structure than literature, graphic novels and comics, video games, and animation. One of the keys is grounding it in reality since we are seeing real people interact in a 'real' world, often with fantastic elements. 2. Having the creator of the source material is not a guarantee of quality. Plenty of creators have been involved, often at a high level and the adaptation still failed as a story. What is important is that whoever is involved is a good storyteller and understands my first point. I didn't read the books and didn't care for the movies, partly because fantasy centered around magic isn't normally my cup of tea, but this show is pretty good so far.

Every "oh the movies did it this way" was painful. Poisedon appearing randomly, talking to percy in his head and the meeting with zeus never happend in the books. That was made for the movie only.your best bet is to forget everything you saw in those movies like they dont exist

The big 3 aren’t supposed to have kids so that’s why they don’t assume that Percy’s dad is actually Poseidon, there are plenty other minor water gods that could be Percy’s father. The only reason Annabeth figured out was because she was watching Percy all the time and she informed that the others didn’t, also Chiron himself most likely knew but couldn’t really do anything since you have to be claimed.

@@mooda4987 oh,I only read the first few chapters of the first book;some reads of the wiki.I don’t really know that much of Greek mythology besides the basic gods (like Zeus,Poseidon,Hades and Aphrodite). Although Hades had a lot of kids,don’t you think the other kids might think one of the other three would’ve broke the rule.

I do have to say though I hope that they keep the gods wearing normal clothing that sorta fit their roles and what they’re gods of(like Zeus wearing business clothes,Hades wearing biker gear and Poseidon wearing shorts,Hawaiian shirt,sandals and a cap).

@@darknorman2914 About Hades kids they haven’t been introduced yet the only other kid of the big 3 is Thalia, and I’m not even sure if all the campers know she’s the daughter of Zeus so the other kids don’t really have any reason to suspect that the Gods broke the rule
