To answer one of your questions the animal we identify as can any animal except human, it's not limited to cats dogs and wolves. Some people identify as more then one animal like me, I identify as a hyena and a border collie. As someone who is quite possibly a therian, and really just identifies as an alterhuman, I really like how you handled this. And to answer some of your questions [I’ve been researching as much as I can about alterhumanity for the past 8 months]: No, we don’t use a litter box or go on the lawn or anything. Gear is also not needed to be a therian/alterhuman. Both of these things have really only come into view in the community after the last couple of years. Kintypes/theriotypes aren’t exclusively felines and canines! Those are the most common kintypes, but in no way are they the only ones. Personally, I’ve met a Manta Ray, Polymorph, Shapeshifter, Werewolf, Dragon[s], and a lot more. I’ve also met someone who identifies as a Fictionkin with Ashfur from Warriors Cats as their fictotype ;] I also wanted to add- QUIZZES ARE NOT RELIABLE. Always always always do your research after doing a quiz, because quite often they are either made by a misinformed person or incredibly inaccurate. When it comes to shifts, I noticed that there wasn’t a definition for one of those, so here’s one! A shift can be defined as “sliding” into a more nonhuman state of being. For example, a mental shift* is when you slip into the mind of a nonhuman, usually a theriotype/kintype. Phantom shifting is feeling the limbs of a nonhuman, and quite often that is also a kintype. There are lot more kinds than these- like dream shifting, sensory shifting, perception shifting, etc. Alterhumanity is a super interesting subject, and I’d recommend watching Therian Territory or PD [Pink Dolphin] if you want to learn more! I’m sure I missed something, so if you have any questions/comments please reply and I’ll do my best to answer them! [One last thing- plantkins are real :] I know a person who is questioning birch tree/willow tree. I’m not plantkin myself, so I can’t tell you much about it, but yes, there are people who identify as a tree/plant because it matches their experiences.] *Please do note that if you find you cannot control yourself during a deep mental shift, it is not longer considered therianthropy/alterhumanity and instead clinical zooanthropy.

​@@blackoutalt2339 That is completely understandable! It's more so a mental thing rather then a physical! We very well know that we are human. It's like...We feel out of place in our bodies if that makes sense. I don't want to speak for all therians, but that's how it's been in my experience and many other therians I know. We still respect our human bodies and take care of them as they should be treated, but we feel as if something's just not right about it. Therianthropy is actually quite an upsetting and horrible thing to experience. The internet only gets to see the ways people have embraced and glorified it rather than what it's really about.

Quads are very good exercise. I wish I could do them. I do see it as a spiritual connection to the animals they see themselves as. I did a lot of this stuff when I was a teen. I’m 56 now. I had no name for it then. I just saw it more as a form as shamanism.

Suddenly, my fat belly fell off my body, and the belly transformed into a very huge, bloody, and creepy looking monster. The monster began to stab me. I kept hearing the voice of my nephew who died 6 years ago from being kidnapped in the forest saying "Is that you, Tammy? I want you back, Tammy.". Tammy was one of his best friends, she got beheaded by a bear in the forest and died 1 hour before my nephew. Turns out, when my nephew died, he noclipped to the backrooms, so why isn't Tammy there?? He was obviously looking for Tammy because everyone noclips to the backrooms when they die. Eventually he found me, and before I noclipped, I was wearing a bear costume while doing belly play. He thought I was the same bear that killed Tammy, so he started to transform into a cat, and clawed my left arm off. I kept screaming "Please, stop, let me take off the bear costume, I am Uncle Kakifat!". He allowed me to take it off to make sure I was really Kakifat, so I did, and he instantly regretted clawing off my left arm. He transformed back into a human, afterwards. Immediately, I randomly noclipped back to earth, I still had no left arm, scientists couldn't find out how it happened, and people didn't believe my story, so there was no evidence for whatever caused me to lose it. People think I'm delusional, to this day. I still sometimes hear my nephew crying for Tammy. I thought it was a dream, but it was definetly not a dream, I have the same injuries that happened from that "dream", so it really happened, it is not a dream. I get nightmares about my nephew amd Tammy, every night. I also get nightmares about bears.

To answer some of your questions! (I am both a therian and a furry) 1:it’s normally mixed reactions. Some furries like therians, some don’t 2: it’s not all wolves and cats! My theriotypes are a black cat, a Vancouver island sea wolf, a coyote, a harp seal, a bat eared fox, and a fruit bat! Btw we know we are physically human! Therionanthropy is identifying as an animal on a non physical level. And as for some of the stereotypes, no we don’t use litter boxes or eat cat food. We are still humans! Therianthropy is identifying as an animal on a non physical level based on involuntary non human experiences. There are 2 types of therianthropy (spiritual and psychological)

However, therians have officially been discovered in 1901 (the first time it was talked about, as far as we know). But therians have non-officially existed since forever. It's *NOT* a "trend", to be a therian. It literally can't be. Being a therian is *not* a choice. So even if someone thinks it's "cool", they can't "choose to become" a therian for the "trend", as it's not a choice. It's an involuntary and permanent identity. If you weren't a therian *before* knowing the therian community, and only experienced therianthropy *after* knowing it, there's lots of chances you're not a therian and simply got influenced.
