Dude complaining about a $5 tip from a pizza order? WTF? Most people hardly tip at all anymore so be grateful.

I heard about this. It was a $20 order. $5 is 20%. If he wanted a bigger tip, he should have taken a larger order. The woman complained to Doordash, the tip was rescinded, and he no longer works for Doordash. What a stupid was to loose your job. Edit: A $5 tip for a $20 order is 25%, not 20%. You pay for the service, not because it's a requirement. Honestly most people don't understand the difference anymore. If you give good service, you deserve a tip. Good service isn't just the fact that you're doing what you were hired to do.
@AsmodeusMictian
Ай бұрын
Would you believe that in a lot of countries, even *attempting* to tip is considered an insult....TO THE BUSINESS? Weird right? I mean, what business owner wouldn't be super happy passing off even more of their operating costs to their customer? It's like advertising "Hey! I pay my employees shit but still have high prices so that YOU can pay the balance of their salary...in addition to the high prices. You're WELCOME!" and who wouldn't want to advertise that you intentionally fuck over your employees? Amirite??? Oh, b.t.w. have you noticed that a TON of these places are struggling to get employees, particularly in tipped positions? HOW WEIRD! It's like people don't want to have a job that basically pays next to nothing or something!?

@@Ghostiificationbut this guy didn't gave a good service...
@Insaineiac
Ай бұрын
@@Ghostiification Couldn't disagree more! People don't deserve any extra just for doing their job correctly as they're supposed to! One shouldn't have to pay a bribe for better services, nor does one deserve worse service for not paying said bribe. The fact that they don't make enough money is not our personal concern. It is a serious problem that does need to be addressed, in a way that doesn't rely on us footing the bill for it! Giving workers extra cash where it's not warranted is what originally gave greedy American business owners the idea that they could start underpaying their staff and pass that cost on to the customer in the form of tips. Because why not? Especially if there's plenty of schmucks like you out there just happy to give away your money for nothing!!! Your kind of thinking is literally what got todays "tip workers" into this whole mess. It's really not that complex of an issue to solve. As Asmodeus' comment pointed out, a lot of other countries don't even have this problem at all because they just legislate that the employers pay their staff a fair wage to start with. No need for tips. Simple.

@crudboy12

As a delivery driver, you are wrong about that. I'm assuming he's working for a gig company since most pizza places outsource instead of using their own drivers now. We (at least in my area) do not get minimum wage. We get a flat fee starting at $2 (Doordash) per delivery. If customers don't tip, you can literally lose money by delivering to them when gas is factored in. Calling it a tip is misleading, because it's really more of a bid. Orders that don't have high tips on them tend to sit because people choose not to deliver them. I would never call someone out on their tip, because it's unprofessional, and I try not to accept orders that don't tip highly enough to make it worthwhile. Instead of considering the tip as a total percentage of the price of food, consider the tip as a reasonable amount to deliver considering your distance to the store and other factors. Where I deliver, $5 is a good tip for a local delivery in good weather, because that means I'm likely earning at least $7 on the delivery, and I can do 3-4 local deliveries in an hour. If you are 20 minutes away and tip $5, the food will sit on the shelf for a long time, because I can only do 1 delivery like that an hour (return trip empty) and would rather see $18+ earnings before I accept that. Keep in mind, we are using our personal vehicles and paying for wear and tear as well as gas, which usually eats up about 15% of my earnings. Doordash sucks as a company and charges massive delivery fees which do not go to the drivers. They are routinely trying to force us to do more for less. Recent changes they have made include removing the base pay for bundled orders (meaning if you don't tip, we are working for free), hiding parts of your tip to trick us into accepting bad orders, and punishing people who decline too many bad orders by sending them more bad orders. I feel this guy's frustration, because it sucks to be trying to keep your acceptance rate above 70% and keep being given orders from stingy fucks who don't tip. Doordash is also screwing us by over saturating all their markets with new drivers which makes it much harder for any one individual to make enough money for Doordash to be worthwhile versus a different job. I'm personally looking for different employment because it has gotten simply unsustainable, and my car has broken down as a result of the 10s of thousands of extra miles I put on it.

The guy answers the door and informs me he is a nickel short. So, not only did I not get a tip, I had to give up 5 cents to cover him. I got a thanks and a door slam. Meanwhile the poorest folks in town always tipped. Rich folks wouldn't be rich if they were good people after all.

7:45 Well, at least this RV driver has the BRAIN to back up and not be like: "Nah, i try anyways, i dont care if i rip off my roof." like some other stupid drivers.
I watch these videos and think; "What happened to us as humans? I thought we were better than this stupity."

He gonna whine about a $5 tip. Be grateful you got anything. She could've given no tip. Expecting more is like having your hand out begging for money. Say thank you and leave.
AI doesn't ask or complain about a tip and a robot can easily do your job. In fact, it's already happening where i live.
