I freaking love this pedal. It's been on my board for years. With a Fender amp, it just rocks. You gotta keep it at low gain for the best tones, but at its highest gain, it is basically a fuzz! Definitely agree about it being a sleeper pedal. It really does nail the AC30 tone at low gain. Much more than most amp in a box pedals that try to do that sound.

Sorry I missed this comment. It's a great pedal and I'd still be tempted to bag one if it came up at a good price. Those splashy but mid heavy rhythm tones were ace.

Thanks man! Yes, well spotted! They're useful at a gig when someone comes and asks for a card, I can just hand them the pick I already have in my hand. Better than a branded shirt in that respect, especially in winter.

Killer pedal! Not sure if I preferred this or the Stack though.

Its my favorite pedal on my board... i bought it for $40 on Fakebook..and thought I'd give it a shot... it's my always on pedal.. like people use a Klon ... it makes everything sound better 😌

Can you please tell me which pedal sound great to do a solo guitar on blues rock type songs the Boss combo drive or the boss OD3?

Hi, I'm afraid I haven't tried the OD3 in order to make a comparison. If your amp is capable of some gain by itself, then out of the two choices the OD3 is more suitable as a boost for an already driven amp. The Combo Drive is an amp in a box and is really designed to change a clean-ish channel in to a Vox type gain that you could then stack another pedal in to. Hope that helps in some way. Ben

Yeh, the high gain was the worst bit about it for sure. Definitely better using it somewhere in the lower region of the gain control and hitting it with some other kind of drive like you would the real amp. I'll be honest and say I wasn't that impressed when I 1st tried it, but it grew on me. Ben
