I asked my husband if he'd ever thought about pecan pie brownies and he said he'd never dared to dream that big! We'll be trying it out for sure

Haha, sounds like you picked a good one! 😂
I just wanted to say thank you. I love how you do recipes that do not include exotic or pricey ingredients that only chefs have access to. I love that you do not use specialty pans, utensils, or tools to do those recipes. I really love that you include your own mistakes because, to me, cooking is never perfect. I especially love the fact that you never caved into the dumb algorithm that KZread uses thinking that someone making a dumb face for the video icon somehow makes the video better. I really want to thank a friend of mine that suggested a few videos of yours a while ago. Again, thank you Chef John and please do not change.

It's a must!
Yup! Making these for Thanksgiving. 11/22/23 These are DANGEROUS! Holy cow! They are sticky, chewy, fudgey, nutty, and dense. I cut mine into 16 pieces too, I think that size is very generous considering how rich these are. I will advise not to skip the parchment paper step. I baked mine in a foil disposable 8x8 pan and did not make the parchment sling as my plan was just to cut away the pan. I was able to do that, but it would've been much easier if I used parchment paper instead. The pecan pie filling brimmed over the foil pan too. It all came out fine, though. Cutting away the edges made samples for the cook 😊.
Making this as soon as I get more pecans! …I trust your recipes to the nth degree. None have ever disappointed, and I’ve tried a lot. My daughter asked me if I could even cook without a recipe. I said probably, but why would I? I might be a recipe addict, definitely addicted to Chef John’s!
Two of my favorite things in a single pan.
My grandmother made a pie she called "Pecan Surprise". The bottom half of the pie was cheesecake. The day she made it was two sepeate layers, but after a day or two in the fridge the pecan pie filling would be completely absorbed by the cheesecake and it would turn into the mose divine pie.

That's a good one that goes back at least 50 years--I think it might have been a Pillsbury Bake-Off winner in the 1960s. Pillsbury has a recipe online where they called it Mystery Pecan Pie.
I was going to ask if they had to be kept in the fridge and for how long. Then I got real and realized they would all be eaten before they got cold.
I’m glad there are people who still eat food like this. incredible stuff.
combining my two favorite desserts? YEAH BABY!
I do believe you've made the most dangerously addictive substance on the planet, at least for me. I love pecan pie, it's a nearly perfect dessert. The only pie I like more is chocolate chip pecan pie. And here you've made something that I'm sure is immensely better, so good in fact that I'm almost hesitant to make it. The fear is that I may attempt an act of shameful gluttony and try to eat the whole thing. But I also believe that facing one's fear can lead to personal growth, so....

This will either lead to personal growth or physical growth. So it's win-win.
Love these!! I made them for Christmas with the last of my local Texas pecans. Great balance of flavors and textures. Thanks for the inspiration, technique and commentary!! All the best in 2024.
"Seymour Butts of deez nuts" is easily in your top 5.
I know what I'm taking for the dessert table at our family gathering Thanksgiving. Thank you!

Chef John, thank you for sharing all your amazing recipes!
And as always I enjoyed 😊
Absolutely delicious looking! Can’t wait to try this recipe!
I hate making pie crusts, so usually make graham cracker crusts. For years I have been making my pecan pies with a chocolate wafer cookie crust, same idea as yours but not does not zonk you out. Love watching you no matter what you are making!
I think I'll throw these into the Holiday Cookie lineup this year.
I'm gonna try this but sub cane syrup for corn syrup....we love pecan pie down here in Louisiana

Totally gonna make these for Thanksgiving! Thank you Chef John!
Wow, those look great. Two of my favorite treats. It even looked easy to make. Thanks, Chef John
The non candy version of pecan buds. Pure genius. I’m definitely making these for the holidays!
"Somehow, I have no idea why, it did" is a great mantra for cooking
THIS LOOKS AMAZINGGGG thank you chef john
This looks awesome. Thank you Chef John 😊
I only recently discovered warm chocolate pecan pie and was floored with how good it was. Definitely have to make this
Beautiful work, John!
I'm here, I'm here😱, what'd I miss!!? This sounds and looks slammin!
I made your Yule log a few years back! Your voice is so comforting in the kitchen.
What a unique idea! Thanks for sharing.
Yankee magazine had a recipe that I’ve used for years and years, can’t wait to try this recipe, best combo evah!
Pure magic and deliciousness! 🥰🥰
It has been about a month after this recipe posted and now my wife finally got around to making it ( she does the baking.) It went exactly as described . It can be hard to get out of the pan, but when you do, IT IS GREAT!
4:39 I'm actually dying 😂😂😂
Holy cow. How is the internet not flooded with recipes that combine the two most amazing desserts ever?!
I had a slice for the first time yesterday so delicious
This look great. Worth trying. Thank you 💕
These look amazing! I think i'd try them with a blondie base too.
Interesting; definitely will try!
Trophy Dessert. Chef John is on the front page of " Innovative Chefs", Magazine
Love your comments chef....I so enjoy making myself what you suggest and listening to you cook 😆😆😆

Looks great!
Dude… this is next level! You’ve really outdone yourself!!
Just in time for the holiday season!!!
Oh my those look delicious 😋🤤!
Making this for sure!
Thank you 😊
It's a pleasure to watch your video, it's a great video, very well conveyed, thank you very much.
Thank you!!!!!!
I made a cheesecake with peacan top. It worked and was yummy. And this looks YUMMY too.
Two of my most favorite together!! :)
Did this recipe and put liquid honey instead of corn syrup because thats all i had on hand. Just took it out of the oven and it took 40 minutes at 350 to get the same looking pecan crust as yours. Its cooling down, cant wait to taste test it.
Awesome recipe. Sooo going to try these. 🤩😎

I hear the Beastie Boys need a third guy...
Made these for Thanksgiving - they were a hit - very yummy
You can use walnuts instead of pecans, and finish by drizzling the brownies with a small amount of melted chocolate to make Dixie pie brownies instead of pecan pie brownies for an added cultural effect (at least, for the Americans watching these videos).

I wonder whether roasted and chopped chestnuts would work, chestnuts being festive and all
This looks absolutely delicious. It is so thick, I think I will cook this is a 9 by 13 pan and maybe cook it a slightly shorter time. Great video.
These look good
When you picked the finished desert out of the fridge, it made me chuckle. It looked like a brick! But that browny recipe is easy enough for me to make and it looked amazing. Nuts and that brown sugar stuff is always hard to get
Sounds good
I just made this at my workplace Christmas party & seriously won 2nd place!!! Super excited about that
I’m going to make this in a pie pan and serve in typical pie fashion. Gonna. Be. Awesome.
Chef John is a youtube legend.
Ohohoh…… I can’t wait to make these ….. yummm!!
I did that with cheesecake once ! It was AMAZING
After all, you are the Chef John, of brownies topped with pecan.
I'm looking forward to your next video
It was delicious! Mine took longer to bake, probably because I used a metal pan.Thank you!
My hero @ the mixing bowl👨🏼🍳🥣
Interesting combination of flavors there! I've never had a pecan pie, but they always look good when I've seen them. Of course, I've had brownies. So there's some curiosity regarding how this would fare together. I'll have to bookmark this vid and check out the recipe. And maybe try making the same thing using a blondie to replace the brownies as an alternative. But enjoyed seeing you do this video explaining each step of how to achieve this. Thanks for sharing and creating this interesting combo!
Wow!
I definitely wanna try this, but I also wanna try it as a Blondie 😊
This is another “secret weapon” food wishes recipe. This will blow everyone away for sure!
I made this for the guys at my husband's work and now I've made them 4 times. In a month. Lol. Such a fun and delicious recipe!
This might be my new obsession!
YES
Yummy 😋
I have a large bag of pecans I just bought that now has a purpose in life. Thank you 😉
We just loved the book by Seymour Butz, "Under the Bleachers." A real classic!
Kind of wish you made them without baking the brownies first, too. I bet that would be delicious😋 Thank you! You are such a delight❤️
Even my picky husband said he would try these! Thanks, Chef John.
We need the T-shirt that says, “Around the outside. Around the outside.”-Chef John
That was fun.
ohhh this would be great for the office!!!!
Yummy!❤
Ooh! I'm going to try this with macadamia nuts and unsweetened coconut shreds!
Looks like I found the pie to Wow my son-in-law with this year!
Couldn't wait to see❤❤❤❤❤
I usually make your pecan pie for thanksgiving each year but I think I might just have to try these instead this year
I like this idea. Now you've made me think back to when I made a chocolate pecan pie which was super rich to going farther with hey wonder if I can make a pecan pie that tastes like the frosting on a German chocolate cake and make coconut butter pecan pie 🤔 sounds good if you like that frosting which I do .. thanks chef !
Immediately regretted watching this! What a combination. What’s next Cheesecake Broenies? 🤤
YUM!
Awesome recipe, thank you Chef. I wonder, could this be made with the Ghirardelli brownies mix? I have a big box of the stuff but after watching this video plain ol' brownies just will not do🥰
Watching this while eating a maple long john donut was a beautiful combination
Reminds me of the tollhouse pie with pecan pie topping.
I recently made a slab pecan pie that would not set up. I thought it was ruined, but I found a tip that said to seal it with tinfoil and bake for longer. I didn't have tinfoil, so I covered it with another sheet pan. I wish I had found out sooner because the edges were overcooked, but this tip saved the recipe. I think doing something similar here would probably have shortened the second bake time and made the final product a little less brick like.
