Carrot Cake Ice Cream (No Churning) | Food Wishes
Out of all the cakes that could be converted into ice cream recipe, carrot cake probably isn’t the most obvious choice, but after enjoying this simple, no-churn version, I can’t imagine anything else working out quite as well. Enjoy!

Impeccable timing. I sent my boyfriend to the store to get some ingredients for our corned beef dinner. He brought back the largest bag of carrots I’ve ever seen. Even my dogs are sick of carrots now. This will be great.

the best part is the whipped cream, condensed milk, and probly some sugar. is the basis for lots of different flavors of ice cream.

The metric recipe (roughly rounded): Ingredients 2 tablespoons unsalted butter 300g finely shredded carrots 80g brown sugar 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt 1 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 115g soft cream cheese 1 can (14 ounces [400 g]) sweetened condensed milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 540g heavy cream 80g toasted chopped pecans 80g chopped walnuts

I’m in love! We had an ice cream shop here that closed because of the pandemic. They were locally famous for their unusual flavors and having a flavor contest every two years. Winners in each category got to have their flavor featured in the case for a year. Some flavors were so popular, they became permanent regulars. My two favorites were their Blue Mountain Spice which tasted like spice cake and Cream Cheese. Having the two flavors together was like having a cup or cone of spice cake with cream cheese frosting. While this recipe isn’t from Izzy’s, I can be transported back to when we’d go to Izzy’s for my favorite ice cream duo. Thanks Chef John!

Made this last night - highly recommend it. Super easy, tastes like churned ice cream and the spices with the almost candied carrots and nuts are just great. I've only ever used sweetened condensed milk in my pumpkin pie recipe, but I might need to buy it more often now! If you're thinking of trying it, definitely do!
I’d like to report back on this fresh batch I’m currently eating. The family and I love it. Very delicious and creamy.

It was too sweet & rich for my family - and I only added a 10 ounce can of condensed milk.
This sounds so good I just might make some. And since this is so over the top, I think I'll add raisins soaked in rum and top it with pineapple pieces and pineapple syrup to make it even more over the top.

This was my first ever time making homemade ice cream and it was absolutely delicious and i admit with no shame at all that i "cleaned up" my mixer and spoons quite a bit more often than necessary while making it. I have, however, made one horrible miscalculation, which is that i made this forgetting that i live alone in my tiny student appartment with my even tinier fridge containing my absolute baby-sized freezer, and i have had to empty all its other contents in the act of keeping multiple ice cream containers in there. And normally i would NEVER complain about having so much ice cream it took me multipel weeks to finish it but i had a whole loaf of bread in there! And my poor frozen peas!
This recipe made me a super hero in my home…also there’s a surprise crystal candy like crunch going on every now and then in the bite not sure what it is but I love it
Phenomenal! Carrot cake is one of my favorites. Of course it’d make an awesome ice cream.
An Indian dessert - carrot halwa, is frequently served with vanilla ice cream. It’s quite a delightful contrast with the halwa being hot and the frozen ice cream. This recipe kind of combines this into the same dish.
I use sweetened condensed milk in my coffee when I want a treat - I also use it to make microwave caramels. Imagine adding pecan praline instead of just chopped pecans :P

I have been making ice cream with sweetened condensed milk for awhile, and I love it! I can’t wait to try this flavor. It will be an awesome Easter dessert.

I've started using the non churning method of making ice cream for a couple of years now and I haven't bought any brand from the the store since. My families and friends enjoy my butter pecan recipe.
I almost never make desserts at home, and have never tried to make ice cream, but this sounds so incredibly delicious that I think I need to make an exception and give it a try.

The real definition of ice cream is a creamy desert that has lots of air in it. The air in the cream mixture can be incorporated in various manners, including by centrifugal motion in the presence of atmospheric air.

Carrot cake and ice cream are both my favorite! No need to choose! Making this to have for my birthday (with a few adjustments. I fully believe that carrot cake needs crushed pineapple and a bit of real, grated ginger for spice at altitude!).....after a dinner of Miso Beef Noodles~ I'm excited!

I've been watching you a while, but this is the first recipe I've made (I know, my bad!). I'm sitting here with a small ramekin of this ice cream, eating it Easter morning, because I made it for my family and didn't want to bring it if it was icy. OMG ... this is delish!!! Made this and it was incredible. Top tip though - add crumbled up digestive biscuits (graham crackers) into the ice cream mix! I topped my ice cream with these and it was the missing piece to perfection, will definitely add to the mix next time!

I've been doing this, with just sweetened condensed milk and heavy cream and a splash of vanilla, for years. It's been a social media trend for years. Many variations, flavors, additions.

3:16 A spatula is better suited to this kind of mixing anyway, as the carrot shreds would just get stuck in the whisk and bog it down. Plus you'd lose more of the carrotty goodness. On a side note, golden raisins and/or chopped dried pineapple tidbits make a great addition to carrot cake.
Whale!!!! Me thinkx that i wood add to the final mixture, some graham cracker crumbs (crust), some orange zest (chutzpah), brandied currants, a tiny splash of Kirsch, and/or Luxardo cherries - chopped. WoW, great for an Amish cookout!!! And............................with those in.....gredients added, a much bigger batch is called for 😳!!
This ice cream is incredible. My wife requested a chocolate version. Instead of the carrot/spice mixture I'd add melted chocolate, cocoa powder, and then fold in some chocolate chips with the whipped cream. Any thoughts Chef John?

That's what drew me in initially and after I watched the video I knew I had to try it. Just licking the utensils, Bowl convince me this is going to be very yummy (it is sitting in the freezer, waiting to be eaten for dessert after tonights dinner; thought about it all night into the morning-sleep was compromised). me and my girlfriend actually have a ice cream business that uses the same no churn ice cream recipe. Gonna add this to our list of flavours. look for a recipe for the south african dessert "malva pudding" and just mix that straight into the ice cream base recipe

Made yesterday, the gang ate some today - Easter Sunday. Amounts described will fit into a 2 litre ice cream tub. Old cinnamon, so I put more in. Only had ginger pieces in a jar of syrup, so fine grated 2 lumps as big as ice cubes. Result spectacular! . . . what are you waiting for ??

This with a thick cover of melted chocolate would be amazing. (3 spoons of butter + 1/2 or 1 spoon of milk + 1 spoon of chocolate power + 1 spoon of sugar and melt on low heat while stirring until it's the consistency/thickness you like). Can even mix this into the ice cream. If you make a carrot cake you let it in the fridge for about 4 hours so it's crunchy. Made me hungry, gonna make this now.

I recommend adding in a 1/4 of crushed pineapple to this. And I deviated from the recipe, got some matchstick carrots at my local wallyworld, soaked em a bit, tossed them with 4 tbsp of butter not 2 and plopped in the sugar and spices to that in the sauce pan.
This was a big hit. Very tasty and surprisingly fast and easy.
