It was a great idea to have Mary interviewing Paul - made him far more relaxed and honest, and she in turn could ask him things other interviewers couldn't.

Linda was a wonderful photographer. She captured the greatest rock musicians of the 1960s and 1970s. American and over The Pond. I purchased her compilation. Gorgeous compositions in black 'n' white shot with a Nikon F.

At age 75, I still and always will remember a great day-night at the Cow Palace in San Fran...Wings Over America Tour. First laser light show I'd ever seen and the music, as always with Paul, was flat awesome! The man is almost my age and still gives it his all at each show...2 - 3 hours!!?? Paul is my favorite alltime hero! Rock On Guy!!!!! Ken Skeen

I love that courage statement he made about Linda...rarely ... perhaps...first time..did I witness...such sharing and Paul's high hopes and generosity for his wife...and I hold her as a genuine member of WINGS!!! ...NOT because he says so but because there is one song that she does that I really really like...Voila.

Oh Mary. Please talk to you Father and tell him a story of my sister. Mary is my sister. She almost lost her life in 1961. But God willing, a visiting Doctor from Boston was in Edinburgh. He chose her as a ginipig and saved Her life. Mary, being the eldest, brought us up on with your Dads music. Her fave being Ram. Mary always said that your Dads music got her through the tough times after her surgeries at the hospitals. On behalf of my Sister. Thank Your Dad. My Sister would. But She's too busy working in the Hospital.

You know people don't knock Linda much anymore, not after Paul married Heather Mills, then folks really appreciated Linda. I always sort of liked her and appreciate seeing her on these videos nowadays. She was a trooper as she really didn't wish to be a band member.Paul's daughter Mary keeps it all in the family. Thanks for posting.

Even I believe that because of how he came across. Lovey dovey et al. Only thing that gave him a mark was his business dealing with former Wings members and the Beatles. Ifollowed him from 1981 after breakup Wings and he did a song with Stevie Wonder. But it was really, the marriage and breakup of Heather Mills that documentaries were willing to " explore"of what really happened behind the scenes with the Beatles, and Wings concerning, sex, drugs, and rock n roll.

In the 1980s I worked with a guy called Eddie whom had worked alongside fellow gas fitter Joe Cocker in Oxford in the 1960s whom later became a famous singer whom worked with young Henry whom worked with Paul McCartney. This probably doesn’t count as 5 degrees of separation due to the wobbly time lines but I may be wrong.

You want to know something really sad? My mom said in the 80s she was SHOCKED when she found out John was still alive. She actually thought that John was already dead. Because hadn't heard much about him in the 70s not even songs on the radio I mean she wasn't really into the Beatles, but all she said she only heard Paul George and even Ringo's music (but she did like most of Paul's music) but that is pretty scary not mention all the other Beatles had been heard of but its just.... I was like wow...REALLY!?! 0_o

  • @softclay4thought

    @softclay4thought

Ron Slack Muzak. LOL!!! The young people of today would call a lot of what the Beatles recorded as muzak or something worse. REBELZAK is what I call most of what John Lennon did after the Beatles broke up. Or maybe REBEL DRIBBLE might also be a more accurate description of it. John Lennon wanted to have his cake and eat it too. He wanted to be looked upon as a "WORKING CLASS HERO" whilst maintaining the trappings of being a millionaire living in an expensive location in NYC which is where Yoko wanted to live the good life with his millions. Life with Yoko and her bogus art was such a transparent farce for John and it ended up costing him his life to boot. He was always my favorite Beatle because of his quick ascerbic wit and altruistic focus. I curse the moment he met Yoko because he was so much less than he could have continued to be once he fell under her spell. They both craved the limelight, but kept on turning out crap together. They went around promoting the FAD OF THE MONTH on whatever talk shows would let them come on to indulge this self appointed role. YOKO was the slick parasite who knew how to feed John's ego and let him think he was better off with her than he would be with Paul McCartney in the recording studio. Her spell and con game kept working on him year after year. I lost so much respect and admiration for John because of this. SO SAD - SO TRANSPARENT - SO SHALLOW. Look at the total body of work and total number of live performances Paul has done since the Beatles broke up. NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING He has consistently filled huge venues all around the world and TOTALLY SATISFIED his audiences each and every time. Despite the fact that John was always my favorite Beatle, I've had to be objective about evaluating his talent and output compared to that of Paul's. As much as it pained me to do so, after hearing Paul's solo masterpiece RAM, I had to concede the obvious glaring fact. Paul had been the most prolific and core musical talent of the Beatles. He was the Arkansas of the Beatles. By that, I mean he had what it took to survive and prosper alone. Of the land-locked states, Arkansas has a sufficient diversity of natural resources to prosper without having to import anything from outside its own borders. At 71 or 72, Paul has demonstrated how creatively driven he continues to be and the music scholars will be quite objective and therefore quite generous when evaluating his body of work. No room for REBEL DRIBBLE or any other kind of senseless dribble.

After the Beatles, I like many wished they might get together again. Twas not meant to be. Wings as they started, not unlike John and Yoko, were doing they're own thing. Paul and Linda and their friends impressed me simply with their love of music, but most of all love of each other and love of friends. They just had it. Ram was the first album I bought. I loved it. I bought everything they did after that. I got to see the newer v and in Kansas City on a full moon night, 1995. Linda was there. I got pretty emotional. The show was fantastic. Linda and Paul were connected to each other, the band, and all of us. The fans. Lady Linda and Sir Paul. Thank you. sure do wish Linda were here with you still. Your legendary music lives on. T

Well as much as I'd like to agree - you're wrong. Yoko actually was a big influence on bands like the B-52's and she gets credit for that. Linda was forced by Paul to play keyboards and sing, but she really didn't care if she did it or not and didn't really do anything difficult music wise. Just the bare minimum. Yoko did play keyboards at the One to One Concert, but I don't recall her being a musician beyond that. But she did write songs, and had a single that was a minor hit on the dance scene in 1980.

Actually Yoko was a trained pianist having studied from age 4 to about 13. She could also read music which is more than John could do. That she ended up playing in Paul's band was a matter of circumstance. Paul wanted to tour and wanted his family with him. John didn't want to tour. Simple.

I would not call Wings Wild Life garbage. McCartney did some pretty gutsy and experimental stuff. If you look at some of his early solo work and the first couple of Wings albums without stuffing them in a Beatles box, they were all excellent records. Paul was trying to distance himself from the Beatles. So were John and George. Each of their first solo efforts were unique. It's all in how you look at it. If you were expecting an extension of the Beatles in Paul's career apart from the fan four,

1:33 That's the exact moment he started to dress ridiculously bad. Until then he had been mostly a trend setter (Noel Gallagher still wears his 1967 hair style to this day). His 1970-early 71 period was still good, with his beard, his Tommy Nutter suits, and fair isle sweaters in Scotland. But his 70s Wings period was atrocious in the clothes/hair department, and the 80s were not much better. To give him his due, he's Paul McCartney and he can do as he pleases. He's always been really good looking, and very lean. I'd say he never went much over 165 lbs (75 Kg) or below 155 (70 kg), so unlike Lennon who had his plump and anorexic periods, he always looked great.

The seventies and eighties are often referred back to at various points respectively as the "decade(s) taste forgot". It could be said 1972 was the start of the '80s. Well, in terms of David Bowie and Bryan Ferry's mullets, and Paul had that toned down version budget barber version for most of the Wings era.

love them or hate them , in England the Gallagher brothers gave The Beatles appreciation to the generation born in the early 1970s that had only been hinted at by the likes of Elvis Costello at Live Aid for us born in 1964 for whom punk & synth pop paid no obvious respect or dues to. Or to put it another way , for us in England aged 20 in 1984 The Beatles were something much older siblings or with young parents had loved & Wings had hit songs when we were 10yrs old but nobody from Adam Ant or Lemmy or Terry Hall ever overtly praised The Beatles as an iconic influence.( although Paul Weller obviously loved Steve Marriott)…I learn how to work a Dansette or that u had to plonk the arm at the edge of the disc using She’s A Woman / I Feel Fine 😃

Paul - when he was in his mid to late-twenties - looked fantastic in a beard. He then looked terrific again - in his thirties - with a mustache, a soul patch, and a mullet.

I just purchased a vinyl copy of"Wildlife" and I didn't find it terribly exciting. There was maybe 2 or 3 decent tracks, other than it seemed like mostly improvised material. I prefer the polish of "Ram" or "Band on the Run."

Touring Universities and in an open top bus in Europe....imagine that today? That's why today's younger generation will never experience anything like that..instead they get a karaoke pub singer who is a multi millionaire and is bang average at best...but still they get no access to him. It's all about being somewhere at the right time in history!!!!! I preferred the other Wings guitarist Jimmy McCullough.

Yes McCartney has incredible talent. Why do you think we call such people 'gifted'? He didn't work any harder than most of us do, his talents are innate or god-given the religious might say. Not only can he create amazing music which being able to do must be hugely rewarding quite apart from the material rewards, but it is something he quite understandably loves doing. How many of us can say that about our means of making a living? Undeniably he is an outrageously fortunate individual and we bestow honors on him as though he somehow earned his gifts! Now if he does good eith the proceeds of his fortune, maybe we should honor him for that.

1:21 .....that's either late '69 or early '70 (doesn't really matter) .....that may have been one of the reasons the Beatles broke up.......hey, they have personal lives too......Lennon's contributions in songwriting were on the decline as far as quality goes, George wasn't happy getting snubbed and having 1 or 2 songs on a Beatles album....Paul had many options then and maybe he made a "family decision".......he made his fortune with John, George and Ringo and are/were dear friends....but they weren't his FAMILY.
