God, thanks for the bass! I appreciate whoever tracked the sound for this vid for letting us feel the power of Paul's bass guitar playing. This is the greatest bass guitarist to ever stalk the planet........Whilst singing like a god. Pardon my idolatry

It's so fascinating watching this interview. They were having so much fun. I never knew this Paul. I was born in 1981 and almost all of the interviews I've seen of Paul he's been much more buttoned down and aloof. I miss this Paul. I wish I would have lived back then. Everyone is so care free. Nowadays this couldn't have happened without someone getting offended.

Paul had to put some guard up after The Beatles because everyone was against him for awhile. After John died he was constantly asked about John and it made him both angry and sad and it was hard for him to talk about how the murder made him feel and bringing up old stories about John was painful and in a way he was unable to get out from under that shadow for a long time. In the mid-90's he loosened up again, then lost Linda and got with Heather, which put him on edge again. I think these days he seems VERY mellow and happy and he has a great marriage with Nancy and I'm very happy for him.

I grew up before. Funny young circa teen Wings fans aren't necessarily Beatles fans. Old goats like me didn't & don't realise that. Their Beatlemania mums loved both. Circa now & a new breed of young McCartney fans are the same. Disturbingly they are slavish in their fandom & mainly American.

@@seltaeb3302 I grew up with both being a 60's baby but I prefer the Wings probably because of their creativity, endurance and more upbeat, positive vides and sound not to mention such a positive family life. The Beatles are so amazing too but with the drama and a lot less touring it held them back from their fans. Then the Yoko Ono thing. What an annoying cling on she was. I heard John was starting the process to divorce Yoko when he was killed. She was bad Karma. Linda was the opposite and such an amazing positive cheerleader/partner for all things Paul and she even joined in the band when he asked her to. I believe she played a strong part in his comeback with the Beatles being a hard act to follow. What an awesome lady. Wish she was still here for him and their children and all of us fans.

Maca made good use of her range for the upper harmonies. It then became part of the wings distinctive sound. A lot better than yoko screaming in John's music. But even a howling old owl in the woods would sound better than yoko. Smart move by maca dishing the I got a get a Beatle groupie on John. Too bad he fell for her mind games. She really knew how to use his mommy insecurities to control him.

Paul didn't pay much to the band, usually it was scale wages, what a session musicians would get. If its called a band, treated as a band, looks like a band (like a contract) then it is a band and the members of that band contribute more to the band (Denny) then they need to be paid accordingly. What Paul did, years later, was put the past members down and said he had "substandard "musicians to justify paying them very little, in my opinion that is. I'm a Wings fan to the very end but I don't pull the wool over my eyes to the behavior of my fave musicians

When I talk about Wings as a band, I mean their partnership, not friendship. Paul allowed them to express themselves in the interests of their own project. But in the late 70s, he decided to start a solo career again, invented a scandal in Japan to increase sales of the failed Back To The Egg, deprived the band of the opportunity to tour and earn good money. A similar picture was in 1969, when Paul decided to leave. In both cases, he was not worried about the further fate of the partners. And now he goes to interviews and claims that he wrote Michelle alone, that the melody of In My Life belongs to him and that he wrote Strawberry Fields with John. Probably because the level of Wings songs is not up to the level of the Beatles.
