@JasonNation72
11 ай бұрын
@@deejayg1632 You're sort of correct. She had an enlarged blood vessel in her throat that required immediate surgery but that was roughly 30 years ago. It only set her back a year and she was back at it for the rest of the 90s. However she dramatically scaled back her touring from the mid 2000s on which includes just doing an occasional Grand Ole Opry appearance or a sporadic benefit concert like the one she did here with Stapleton. So she hasn't fully retired from performing.

This is how excellent Patty is she didn't know what song Chris was going to play next. If you look back on the video she looking at Chris after he asked ( will you do one more) she is trying to think what song is he thinking, then when she recognized it she gives a little smile then goes full mode Patty and nails it like she performed it the day previously asi if she was on tour. Just think for a moment that if someone calls you up and asked you to come (out of retirement) to perform and you say sure but to do it at they level she did. My lord, this is unbelievable!! Kaylo492 Culturally your not supposed to??? As humans it is imperative and such a huge blessing that we learn EVERYTHING around us and explore and learn about others and seek what is loved and cherished and meaningful to all others. This helps us to understand ourselves, love ourselves and love others as well. We are all different. Anyone that makes you feel like you are not being you just because you have explored other cultures does not mean you have lost yourself or want to be someone else. It just means you are learning and expanding your mind and your heart for all cultures while still appreciating and respecting and being a part of your own. The one common thread we all tend to forget about is that we are all human.

@chrisstapleton368 Thanks for bringing Soul back to country music! You Rawk!
Man……Patty Loveless’ voice has not changed a bit. Amazing. Still has that beautiful, aching cry that draws you in and keeps you there. She is one of the best!

Yes..... the "aching cry" so perfectly said.
Patty still has the voice after all of these years! Of course Chris is one of a kind. Beautiful
Patty has one of the greates voices. This is country music.
Wow absolutely amazing performance. I haven’t seen Patty performing live since the George Jones tribute with Vince Gill. Her voice hasn’t changed at all in 9 years since that tribute has she sounds just as good as she always has. Hers and chris’s voice blend well together and this will go down as one of the best duets ever.

Wow. Just got an early Christmas present. Getting to hear the legendary Patty Loveless sing again. She can still sing most singers off the stage.

Sending love right back to your heart did you attend any concert?
I love Patti Loveless. When she sings, she is able to make you feel it the pain. My favorite from 90s country!
His Voice omg I can't stop listening to him. I don't think HE even realizes how talented he is
I think this is one of the most heartbreaking songs there is. Two people who have drifted apart. It happens so often.

I completely agree, but as a first person character to this story, it is 100 accurate and somewhat cathartic. Almost makes it easier to have had something and then lose it without much of a fight.

I’ve listened to Patty Loveless sing this haunting song a thousand times. I was in a complicated marriage & this song pierced my soul. I should’ve left long before I did. Patty, you’ll always have a piece of my heart. ❤️

Just chills. 2 of the best together on one stage!!
Patty Loveless and Chris...WOW❤ you still got it Patty! I saw you at the Stagecoach in California in the 1980's. One of the most amazing shows I've ever seen. Comeback please!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
This track cuts you so deep you feel it in your soul. Thank you Chris & Patty.
As good as she is in country music, she knocks it out of the park on bluegrass. Give her Mountain Soul albums a listen.

@@Mbg930 The people who came to America had to be selective in the things they choose to bring . People brought their music and their instruments. The Scotch and Irish who settled in the Appalachian mountains had much influence on Bluegrass if you see Celtic women or watch River dance you hear the origins of Bluegrass in the music . But there were many other people from other countries who influenced it when I listen to music from another country I can almost always hear something that makes me think of Bluegrass . The name Bluegrass was first used when Bill Monroe got Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs in his band and they sent the tempo into overdrive . The term now includes a broader group of folk music from all over the world brought to America some so old no one knows the author . There is an old song Knoxville Girl that I assumed was talking about our Knoxville TN . It turns out the song refers to Knoxville England . I’m sure you will find you have heard Bluegrass maybe by another name but you will not be disappointed enjoy .
We definitely need Patty back! She was always my favorite female country singer!
This version of the song made me cry like a baby. So much feeling and emotion pouring out. One of the most underrated songs of all times.

The look on her face as he starts playing that song is priceless! Can you imagine sitting at home and (probably) thinking that nobody knows who you are anymore and then getting this opportunity. It's absolutely amazing! Love them both!

Patti Loveless! A Country music Legend. She's still got it!
Beautiful!!!
Knowing the way Chris writes, I can imagine this song probably touched him as a kid, as it did me. Two legends of country, Patty crushes it.
Hi patty, you are my favorite female singer. And dolly is my 2nd best. Please don't give up your singing..love you patty.

This song reminds me about my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost the battling to cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, I miss her smiles, she was always there for me and our lovely daughter, and I never miss a moment with her, life could be so unfair most times, there is some pain, I will cry in vain but won’t let you know how I will feel yes, I will miss you to the core! but some times i wonder why bad thing always happen to good people. She’s always in our heart
Patty Loveless is such a great singer. Honestly till this I have never listened to Chris Stapleton, I am sure glad I stopped and listened to this.
I lost my dad in 2016 and Patty was one of his favorites. He said she had the most authentic voice in country music. He would have loved Chris Stapleton. He was just getting started when my dad got sick. Thank you so much for sharing!

Patty Loveless has such a beautiful & timeless voice what a treasure
I love Patty Loveless, one of the most talented singers in country.
Chris is a true country music artist, and Patty, well that Kentucky girl is one class act! Her voice is as strong and beautiful as day one.
Her voice pulls at your heart in the most beautiful way. This performance was such a gift.
