Patrick Berrane Et al. : The Murder of Hoyt Birge
Hoyt Birge thought he was going to sell drugs to Paige Vowell, but when he got to the residence, her boyfriend Page Briggs and his friends had other plans. They attacked Hoyt and it ended with Patrick Berrane shooting him to death.

@@saddletramp5000 I thought it was much more succinct than the other I watched, Beyond Evil. That one was much more confusing and didn't give details like this. I may be biased though, as Monsters is one of my fav must watch channels. I sort of appreciate the opinions in the narration he does. They're usually a cynical take though. Like in this case where he said something along the lines of how paranoid the perps were and duh, of course they'll be paranoid if they're pumped up on meth... But I do see how ppl could find the asides and opinions off putting. I think Mike over on That Chapter gets a lot of criticism as well for opinions/ trying to find humor in the dumb things criminals do. I guess it's a pretty subjective thing, how ppl want to consume their true crime content... Hope you have a wonderful week!!✌️

They only go around in their jacked up trucks with giant trump flags on them and send chistmas cards with their entire family, including children, holding assault rifles and following victims of school shootings around yelling that they're fake and physically assaulting them. So subtle, those conservatives. You can't possibly be so brainwashed that you think both sides don't do the exact same thing 99% of the time. Give me a break.

My understanding from the early video releases when this case was newer is that Hoyt was in fact a "jack-boy" which is to say he robbed drug dealers. Except those present in the time leading up to the shooting, we do not know what low-voiced planning did or did not go on among some or all of those later shown to be involved. To say they killed Hoyt out of "sheer paranoia" is an absurd assessment given Hoyt's career sticking up people. Who can say? Showing up with two cars full of guys for a deal like that, local reps being what they clearly were, maybe there was no actual intent to deliberately hurt Hoyt until they now believed they were being rolled up on by a robbing crew. It is hard to say. What we do know is this = Florida was the wrong state to get caught up in. (Case Oddity : a boy named Page and his girlfriend Paige. Trying to follow some of the interrogations is nuts due to the names of those two. Weird.) I would have to levy the assertion that Hoyt is quite implicated in his own death on any number of possible levels. But the details are almost certainly obscured forever by all the lies and suppositions. That's a big C- for humanity. And it is only a passing grade at all because everybody went to prison (except everybody who showed up with Hoyt if they were all there to pull a robbery. If that had been proven they could all have been prosecuted for Felony Murder.) 🎱🎱🎱
@ellis7622
Жыл бұрын
Even if what you say is true, nothing indicates that Hoyt was trying to rob them that night. He had no gun, he left most of his friends outside and Pete said they had no intention to rob them. Plus, if he was intending to rob them and they knew, why wouldn’t they just cancel the deal or not let him in when he got there? Regardless of what he may or may not have done in the past, it’s pretty clear that he was murdered for no reason.
Oh my goodness I know this story, one of the lawyers had had shown us all the interviews and the entire Court proceedings. This was crazy, how one person and read so many people into a crime The channel is Mentor lawyer if you want to spend the time on this whole case it is quite interesting and it has stuck with me since I have watched it
What a trip! I'm literally watching Paige Vowell's trial right now. This situation was such an unnecessary & convoluted tragedy. (Having 2 people named Paige/Page who were also a couple made it even more confusing to follow). Berrane and West was the first trial I watched but I've seen Patrick's interrogation in full and all the rest. Remember, Patrick was all of 21 at the time of this. He's an embarrassing and obnoxious mess during his interrogation but claims to have found Jesus by his trial. The kid threw away every opportunity he was given in his blessed life.
I’m like #365 - thanks for the video my friend
