The AA armament for the Bismarck was actually quite good at the time of it's construction, the thing is, the swordfish, being a lot lighter and more maneuverable than more modern planes, could fly a lot closer to the waves, lower than the Bismarck's AA could fire It's AA was made with only more modern planes in mind, planes that couldn't go as low as the biplanes, that's why it couldn't shoot down a single plane irl

I'm not sure how maneuverable any airplane was lugging around a huge torpedo and if your AA guns are so low you can't hit the target it's already too late, your guns have already failed to stop the planes. Bismarck's AA was unremarkable as were most ships at the beginning of the war. Had they been more advanced torpedo planes it's likely Bismarck would have suffered more hits, from larger torpedos than swordfish coild carry not less. Another thing is if they had been more advanced, faster planes more airstrikes could have been launched in the same amount of time. There are many reasons why biplanes were retired in favor of faster, more powerful monoplanes with heavier payloads.

he’s gotten better since the secondary consumable imo. He and USS Georgia are my favorite ships to mess around in lately.

But Spartan you can’t forget that it took a whole navy to find and sink it and it went down fighting thinking about this only gives me goosebumps It’s AA was actually too good for the planes The biplanes were old and able to flew just above the water and AA was not able to shoot that low So it fired it’s main gun in water hoping that splash would destroy the planes

The Bismarck was actually sunk by the Germans. The British didn’t score critical hits to sink the ship so the valves were opened and the ship went down. But to clear anything, I’m not saying the British Navy put a beating on the ship and was the reason for the self sinking

This is the ship that made me fall in love with battle ships at 8years old i watched an old blck a white movie the Bismarck (cant remember the name) and just thought it was amazing taking on all these British ships

I have 174k damage a battle in which I was in the Bismarck In the last moments I was fighting against 2 Colorados with 20 k HP at 6km Secondaries going of on both sides trying to angle against both of them the my both yes both front guns got knocked out and sank me but I had only 20 k helth left when I started fighting them and was able to hold both of them long enough that my other teammate came and we won the battle It was my best battle 😎😆

I would recommend trying Bismarck with von hipper as primary and Scharnhorst and Cunningham as inspirations. You get great secondaries plus amazing dispersion. Still plenty tanky especially with will to rebuild. That build actually makes gneisenau viable. The guns are actually good and hit things, and I’m able to consistently do good in gneisenau. Plays a lot like champagne with that build.

Nice chaos in 1st battle! At the bottom of the ocean, the depths of the abyss They are bound by iron and blood

People like to complain about the bismarck, but it is actually a really good ship, you just need to know how to play it, it's not a brawler at the start of the round but once the ennemy team lost 2-3 ships, you can actually be the biggest treath in the match

So from what I understand is the reason the AA was deemed ineffective was that the swordfish were cloth covered and their AA shells just passed through with out arming and exploding

3:56 Yeah, it’s not because the Bismarck had bad AA that the Swordfishes got through… it’s literally because it was too good for those biplanes… guess they didn’t expect the Royal Navy to still use those and thought they had already switched the Biplanes for the new ones.

Well played with this Ship! She is a very good and unique ship I have her as secondary build and Accuracy, in Naval Creed Warships! Bismarck was my first to unlock. But my Azur Lane Boltimore was my first tier 7 to buy. So I got my Baltimore before Bismarck.

Love the Bismarck, awesome ship for getting in amongst them and dealing out damage

The fire & Ram maneuver is absolutely brilliant. I recently did that in a lower Tier match on the 27th of last month in a Dunkerque. I was inevitably flanked to my left by a bow-tanking Bayern within 3 km while immediately cutoff off in my front, by an angled Izmail, so I managed to sink the Bayern and about two seconds later I rammed and sunk the Izmail. As you demonstrated, it takes quick confident thinking minus panicking.

I remember this ship.............

LoL GG was it on Land of fire? I literally won my side and came all the way across the map to help them win that side because they were too afraid to fight... I ended up dying but I did over 120k damage before I died.

Love the Bismarck. It’s a gorgeous ship and fun to play, though my favorite is the Tirpitz. Notice that there is an actual hole in the bow of the ship with the “sunken ship” Bismarck camo. Actually there may be a few holes. It’s designed to mimic some of the actual shell damage. I do have a question for Spartan… If someone does not have Henry J. Hide (that would be me) what commander build would you recommend as an effective alternative?

I have to Correct u. The Bismarcks AA was too good for her Time and didnt even dmg the Biplanes and or could not shoot this Low hiw the Biplanes flight. So the Bismarck started to Shoot in the Water with the 380mm guns with the hope the splashs take down the Biplanes. All in all The Bismarck was to Modern for her time what was the Problem because the British was behind them way far Behind.

If you haven't already. You could make a best solo destroyer, cruiser, battleship and aircraft carrier series.

The swordfish biplanes really just landed a lucky shot that damaged her rudder which disabled her.

I wouldn't say it was a lucky shot... they hit the Bismarck with multiple torpedoes. Some were duds and they busted open Bismarcks Fuel storage towards the bow as well as knocking out the rudder. Bismarck leaking fuel is one of the reasons they could track it.

@@SpartanElite43 idk. If her rudder didn't get locked into place by a lucky torpedo shot I think she would have been able to escape or at least survive long enough for the luftwaffe to arrive. Once her rudder was hit, her fate was sealed. She could no longer take evasive maneuvers and aircraft will eventually get through even the best AA defense, even biplanes. But could've, would've, should've, didn't, I guess. She was sunk by biplanes and the rest is just speculation.

@@Volksgenossen the reason I say it wasnt luck is because they hit Bismarck with so many torpedoes. If anything Bismarck was Lucky that there were so many Dud torpedoes. Otherwise the tale of Bismarck would have ended there that day. Instead it gets chased down and sunk by pretty much the entire British Navy and turned into swiss cheese.

I think yama has the largest secondary guns in the game. Suzuya’s 155 mm’s

Can you explain this to me I love the GK in my opinion it’s most powerful ship in game right now it’s my favourite and is the most armoured ship in the game BUT How did I citadeled it at 14 km range with my HIPPER I know plunging fire but it is still to much armour nearly 390 of 400 mm and hipper has only 203 mm guns I have citadeled Nelson and iowa many time but did not knew AP pen was that much

I am a noob, so I can say I really love the ship, because I am able to get 150k damage games easily, since the ship is so forgiving. If you are new to game, get this ship!!!

Just keep in mind that when you giggle at ships being destroyed IRL you're giggling at servicemen being killed. You always show a somber attitude when talking about US or British losses, but giggle when it comes to the IJN and Reichsmarine. Not tryna be a debby downer or anything, but remember that those men had families too.

I would not spend money to go trough a tech tree line. You are better of buying a permium ship with that money. But thats just my opinion

I agree with JLH here you’ll have more time to get used to the German battleships if you take your time and grind them out. $69 can buy you even better deals such as the campaign, premium ships (like the Nelson or T-61), or premium time too
