Vladivostok is based on the Type “A” battleship draft design for the USSR Navy’s “Great Sea and Ocean Fleet” project. It was created to accomplish single tactical and technical assignments, with lessons learned from Project 21 (AKA Lenin) but the works were built differently from a multitude of design bureaus, with KB-4 being the winner of the contract and be one of the designs for the Sovetsky Soyuz-class battleships (Project 23). In June 1936 a committee was held to determine the future development of the Soviet Navy. Reviving the battleship proposals till that date, it was decided to develop conventional (2 turrets forward 1 aft) battleships of two kinds for the fleet designated Type A and Type B with the corresponding armament and fire control systems. Type A would be the main fleet battleships to fight other battleships and support coastal forces with naval bombardment, thus the requirements were: - Able to engage the most powerful battleships in commission or to be built in the near future - Well protected from enemy guns - Well protected from explosives like mines, torpedoes, bombs and chemical attacks To this end the Type A was to carry 9x 406mm cannons in 3 triple turrets, at least 12x 152mm guns preferably in twin turrets, Heavy-AA guns of minimum 2 per side and a minimum of 10 quadruple 37mm light AA guns. Type B (Poltava) was to be a smaller light battleship with the mission to fight all sorts of cruisers but especially larger more heavily armed ones like the German Deutschlands, Scharnhorsts and the Japanese Kongos thus the requirements were: - Armaments which are suitable for fighting enemy light, heavy and battlecruisers and to both fire fast enough have good range and penetration power - Protection against such ship types at optimal battle ranges - High speed to hunt down such vessels. To these specifications the Type B was to carry 9x 305mm cannons in 3 triple turrets, at least 12x 130mm guns in twin turrets, Heavy-AA guns of minimum 2 per side and a minimum of 6 quadruple 37mm light AA guns. Three design offices were asked to create the necessary designs which were presented and discussed in October-November of 1936: TTZ (Taktiko Tekhnicheskoye Zadaniye - Tactical and Technical Requirements by the Commander of Chief of the Naval Forces) TsKBS-1 (Tsentral'noye Konstruktorskoye Byuro Spetssudostroyeniya - Central Design and Special Shipbuilding Bureau, 1st Section) KB-4 (Konstruktorskoye Byuro - Design Bureau, 4th Section) While the TsKBS-1 and KB-4 were primary ship design offices, TTZ was responsive of the development of the required 406, 305, 152 and 130mm naval guns, mountings and corresponding fire control systems. Eventually the Type A battleship designs evolved into the Project 23 or Sovietsky Soyuz class while the Type B was discarded though the data was later used for developing the Project 69 Kronshtadt class Battlecruisers. Vladivostok is named after the city of Vladivostok, a port city in Eastern Russia.

Just a little anecdote I'd like to leave here, the vladivostok has several hidden armor plates in both the nose and stern. It uses the same armor model as the pc version of the game, and using a 3rd party armor viewer you can see the the belt armor extension has a front plate and a roof. The front plate of the extended belt is 200mm thick and the roof of the armor extension is 150mm. The same hidden plates are at the stern but provide less spaced armor. Yamato can't citadel a vladivostok through the nose and will have a tough time getting a citadel on the stern.

IUKz ANGELx in the Helena was me 🤣😂 I was dived up with blow in the indinapolis B, we saw u right from the beginning, I was pumped for the match, been watching your videos for a long time. Yeah the benham didn't do our team any justice, and I have no idea what the bismark was doing, it was just a matter of time before that flank fell. Then to get double citadeled/dev struck whilst trying to kite was the nail in the coffin. I think I did what I could though, I got second place on our team and we got thrown in to a tier 7s. Being that it was never built just conceptualized unfortunately will never know how its internal subdivision would have really panned out I think it would have had a nice reserve of buoyancy and certainly would have had some flexibility for its design but I think it would have been rather cramped if it's his armored and Russian as it appears

Yeah not gonna lie I was excited and it did not disappoint

My first tier 7 and still one of my favorite ships!

This was a cool game, normally when i see someone going solo up the middle a yell at the TV "who do you think you are? Flambass?"

With how bad long range dispersion is, I build for fire prevention. You can tank sooo freaking much and drastically reduce the impact of fire starters on the game. The problem comes when you team doesn't know how Vlad works and doesn't do anything to take advantage of you tanking multiple ships for more than half the game..

I love the Vladi and all the other Russian battleships, it was the first line I researched

The Vladivostok actually isn't that long, it's about the same size as the Iowa and Georgia it just looks big because of that huge nose but you can see the reason for it is its lack of superstructure and guns placed very far back.

Yes it's the proportions in the distribution of the shapes it makes it seem like the Vladivostok is a much larger ship than it is but I wish the game would let you have a side-by-side comparison just so it would put it into perspective but she's a hefty one but not too Hefty

Yeah the Kansas to me is the ideal tier 7 warship heavy broadside considerably reliable armor extra shell plating extra gun turret in the back for 12 gun broadside you can't really go wrong with it I've had the Iowa absolutely decimated right out the box and it has yet to ever been immediately Citadel off the bat in the Kansas the Kansas is just the better brawler the Iowa is a gun platform she's a marksman best to keep the enemy at a distance with the Iowa as for the Kansas she's pretty reliable and close up fights

Spartan I know you didnt care much for it but if you have it, you should revisit lenin. It's such a good ship and it quickly became my all time favorite tier 7 battleship

Gameplay wise I concur I think wargaming made the Vladivostok more resilient than the other tear 7 battleships for the Russian perspective with the Iowa and the other battleships their guns at least in my experience seem to have more Precision than hers the Iowa has reliable consistency with her artillery I can't say the same for the Vladivostok I have hits and misses with different builds over the years and I've just come to accept that her guns will never match the Iowa the Vladivostok has a lot more resilience going for it which I believe in Naval tradition would have gone along with the Russian style if they can't mention numbers they would certainly match in durability make that Battleship hard to crack So I guess I would say she's an opposing statement rather than a contemporary to the Iowa

I have know the Russian bbs have good range at 11 km but often recently I find myself dev striking ships at 17 km away. Good luck or what?

@@shadowjunior_5672 they've been buffed some since their release. When first out I built them all as brawler builds since they were inaccurate past 10 or 11km. But back then you could also get away with showing more of your broadside as 15in guns often couldn't pen you, it's armor was too strong (Vladi's).

The vanguard plays similar to the Bismarck with its 15 inch guns. But it has a faster turret rotation and reload. It also has a reload booster. You just miss out on the absurd 10km secondary set up.

I've never really understood how a cruiser in open water can hit me without being detected. I always thought that their detection range was the same as their gun range whilst fireing

Why are randoms so damn scared to fight in this game, i swear 99.9% of my matches people just flee from their sides or run when they lose 1hp

Vladi Is a good ship. AP FANTASTIC and great armor.I have a problem with wowslegends. This game needs a buff. When i got 3 pens when i was playing my Vladi yesterday on a vanguard and guess the result,NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!. this is an ultimate. problem

If I'm in Iowa/ anything that isn't Yamato and a Vladi just sits bow-in to me, I've started just loading HE and buring them down. They run out of Damage Cons eventually 🔥😈🔥

the bismarck is garbage tbh. I have it and hate it. The secondaries are your main source of damage but if you get HE spammed by cruisers your secondaries break....

Yeah no, good thing YOUR team stayed in the enemies cap. Chasing Damage shouldn't be the game play.

In this case they had the numbers advantage regardless, but it should be considered that a BB might take hits and ruin the ability to cap while the remaining enemy teammate pushes and caps.

Nahh my shots all last night I recorded them they whent right through ppls ships point blank didnt even emregister the bullets got one overpen outa a full broadside izmal I was heated cuz right after I should dev struck the guy and nothing registered he hits me with 3 shells from the Colorado boom dead

I'll admit I hate these videos in my subbox that tease the release a day early. Just release it already 🙄
