Hey spartan, one good tip for playing cruisers if you have to fight enemy cruisers or battleships at range. Angle away from them and drop to half throttle, then when they fire, hit full stop and turn either into the shells or away from them, doesn't matter. They almost always miss that way, then once they miss go back to half throttle, rinse and repeat. I managed to get a kraken in the Omaha with this strategy and have come close in other cruisers : )

Bb main here, cruisers with good speed control are harder to hit than speedy DD's. I... I mean... No no this sucks do not do this you'll be an ez kill.

Gameplay starts at 6:46 Also Wichita does not have Super Heavy AP like Balti which is why AP isn't quite as good as Balti confirmed by WG

Thanks for the video Wichita looks strong. This ship is one I’m definitely getting. I am really liking the American light cruisers as well I only have Dallas and Boise but both seem very strong can’t wait for Cleveland...⚓️

Hey Spartan. Been back and forth between witchita and Dallas. Absolutely loving the new cruisers. Thank you for the HE tip. Didnt know it had that kind of power.

I live in Wichita. Love it. Funny naming a ship after a city that is literally the furthest point of any ocean. "Doc" in my profile pic lives 2 miles from me. He flies every Saturday.

2 years later and the matchmaking hasn't changed at all. I swear, I need a team with you me and tbull or a-aron and we'd dominate everything 😂

I was very interested to hear your opinion on this ship... I'm glad to hear she meets your seal of approval. Thanks for another great video. I am curious about your opinion on the California, especially compared to the Arizona. But I'm sure you will have a video soon! On a bureau side note, it's interesting they have this ship set as a daily and fleet for the camo/California project. Definitely feels like a strong hint that WG wants the legendary projects running first, at least until this campaign is completed.

I was having a meltdown over what to buy with my 70% off voucher. It was a toss up between the Plymouth and the Wichita. I love my Edinburgh but went with the Wichita. I had buyers remorse straight after, thinking OMG why didn't I go with the Plymouth. Your video has reinforced my choice. I'm pleased I went with the Wichita now. Just need to learn how to throw down some hurt in it. 👍😊

I'd argue Plymouth is better but Wichita still a solid choice

I use the perk that shows how many ships are looking at you. Punch through might make a 100k game a 106k etc game but you cant do damage with a sunken ship. Highly recommend, most important perk for any cruiser imo

Thanks for getting this out so quickly. HE damage is average, it's the number of hits which is impressive.. German AP tears these light cruisers apart. Now is a good time to grind the Yorck, it's 210mm AP is very effective.

Wichita is not a light cruiser and the AP from anything less than 16 inches is easy enough to bounce with exception to the vanguard who was putting in some good hits early. You're right about the HE damage it is all about hits and the fact that they are not shattering. Hitting entire salvos of shots with very few misses makes for some nasty salvos. The AP is a little worse than Balti but honestly it doesn't matter when you are actually using AP you generally able to citadel Cruisers still and then just use the HE on BBs and DDs My issue with the Yorck was that it has such a stupid firing Arch it takes forever to hit a ship and cruisers can literally just dodge. And the fire rate of this thing reloading in 8.8 seconds is disgusting

German cruiser AP is predictable and slow enough at range it's really not a bigger threat than any other cruiser line. Yeah, play enough and you'll eventually get cit paddled by a Yorck, but it doesn't seem any more deadly than the top 2 Japanese cruisers, the Baltimore, Hipper. The real cruiser vs cruiser kings feel like the British. And I'm sure the Alaska will be a terror once people finally start having it.

I think this is the earliest I've ever been xD welp, might as well watch it before bed.

the range on that thing is just filthy

So I started when I got home, first out and unlocked the Dallas! Not a bad little ship, and I even managed to stay alive while giving out some pretty decent shots.

Thanks for the great vid Spartan . You think the HE on that is nasty, try using the Myoko and Mogami, the can slap battleships for 6k consistently.

Me to I thought whichita would have the dual purpose mark 12 guns that most of. The us tier 7 have,like the Iowa,Alabama,and Baltimore,Clevend,and I think the Helena and Dallas idk

Still haven't had the pleasure of playing with or against you yet my man. Keep up the good work with the videos though and maybe one day I'll see you on the seas.

Liking the performance of the Witchita. Great game if your team would have done there share that was a winnable game.

finally saved enough doubloons for a campaign again and I am excited to get this ship. it will be my first tier 7 premium

I think someone said that the Wichita on PC has a lower shell velocity which is the main difference between her and Balti

I was just in a match with you a bit ago, I was like "damn someone already boosted their way through the campaign? " But saw it was you lol. Was fun getting to have a match with you but sad it didn't go better. Hope I didn't potato too hard.

Yeah didn't go in my favor. The enemy Amagi took 3/4 of my health because of Over Matching..... Wish my Amagi was as accurate as his was that match. Either way i did decent damage during that match but only so much you can do when everyone focuses you down

I'm sure I heard that the Amagi had had some love this update I maybe wrong will have to check but watches DirtyMikes stream earlier and I did seem like the Amagi was hitting very consistently

Hey spartan you really need to try the chapayev for the HE shell penetration its really good

FYI: They're not saying "Sluggish Shot" is a negative trait. It's in white text which means it's an idiosyncrasy, a quirk that is both good and bad. :)

Spartan, why the Wichita in this video going only 13.6 knots in reverse? Was later buffed? As soon as I got mine after the campaign, I always had around 20 kt in reverse.

Well I agree with you 100% on teamates.Sat I was in 5 games in a row and no one scored over 399 pts.I also got my mic shut off on me because I kept complaining about how I get on such bad teams.The WTF spammers were making me crazy so I told them to shutup.Oh well.Love your vids.

I highly doubt this thing will get nerfed as most folks will get obliterated because they do not know how to fight BBs The AP isn't Bad by any stretch it is just not as good as Balti's which is a good balnce considering how much damage this thing can dish out with HE that accuracy and fire rate is nasty

Depends on what your play style is. Americans BB are very simple and tanky, up to Iowa. Iowa is definitely more of a sniper ship, but the armor is way weaker. German BBs are trash, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, only good things about them are good armor and secondaries. British BBs are essentially fire starters and they’re a bit fragile, but very fun, definitely a more challenging and unique line. Russian BBs are ruthless in every way, use it like a sword but don’t EVER expose your broadside you will be deleted. French and Japanese BB’s are light and quick with good guns, and two of my favorite lines. In my experience the Japanese and Russian are the most successful. Hope this helps!

I love my tirpitz and scharnost, two German bbs ... But i would not reccomand those for beginners , they can be very powerful but are difficult to use

Comes down to personal preference, Atlanta is a glass cannon. With Short range guns and Torps so gotta be smart when using her utilizing cover and trying not to be the thing everyone is shooting at. Personally it is a meme ship and I wouldn't spend free xp to unlock it but I have had it since the 1st campaign but if you like light cruisers it is a fun ship and addicting to unleash 16 guns every few seconds.

From the stats of the Cleveland I'd wait and get that instead, near same fire rate, higher fire chance and better range

I know that premium ships should be at least a lil bit better from their normal counterparts...but damn that is demoralizing 😂😂... Soon I see that ship in the map, i will run like Forest Gump!! .. although no much room to go with that range ..

The WICHITA has the sam guns as the New Orleans... the baltimore has super heavy AP that's why the APs on the Baltimore are better

How do you get 18Km range?

Does the Edinburgh have 27 bow armour like the Baltimore

Yes she is a faster firing Baltimore and can absolutely handle her own. However kiting away and pounding with HE is a nice change too! This Ship is great against everything just gotta be careful with 16 inch guns as they overmatch your armor

@@samms92 her HE is the same as on the baltimore. Only the AP is different. You should probably use more HE and less AP than with the Baltimore.

Seems to me teams are either way too aggressive and get deleted early in the match OR we too cautious and they are just as useless. Either way it’s not too much fun at times.

Baltimore superior to wichita but they both great cruisers. The main difference is wichita has the same guns as new Orleans but Baltimore has the super heavy shells with 5k citadel Ap damage.

What is her radar range?

Not on American 203s due to the fact they already have enough HE pen to go through almost all Armor. So best to use Fully Packed for that extra Heal and Radar.

I'm a cruiser captain so my opinion is very biased. I want them in so cruiser AA, especially Americans, can actually have a use. Plus I think it will stop higher tier BBs from camping in the back of their spawn. I'm tired of playing in my Baltimore and it just comes down to slugging it out at very long range with an Iowa or Amagi sitting all the way in the back

@@VoodooActual that is true, but I think it's a slippery slope, aircraft carriers seem like that on the pc, they just camp in back and can't effectively be countered. My fear is it'll turn in to the battleship camper 2.0 but with the added ability to spot.

Yet now of this will matter when CV enter the game. There is no counter to them on PC and will be the same on console. You watch, everyone crying for them will regret it.

They need to make it 12 v 12 for CVs. I didn't want them as I've seen what's happened on PC but I'll keep playing the game unless there inclusion breaks the game for me.

@@jwbraughton that's all we can do. Fingers crossed WG gives up on the idea of submarines, all the builds I've seen so far are terrible, if they get the go ahead on PC they will most likely come to legends. In which case I'm done.

@@VoodooActual Baby my ass, it's unbalanced plain and simple. AA isn't strong enough to repeal a air attack. And you can't run a concealment build on any ship with plans flying around. If you like CVs, good for you. But they are ruining the experience for all the other players. Ask any non-CV mains. CVs are a NO RISK ship! WG needs to adjust them big time.
