Just stumbled on to this how wonderful. The years go by and you forget about all these guys that were so great and so much a part of your life. I saw Pat when he was playing with Big People. Ben Orr, Jeff Carlisi, Derek St Holmes and Liberty DeVito. He was absolutely hot!! So great to hear those guys again, thank you for all the great music!!

I grew up in Ottawa, and Pat and I are the same age. The summer I turned 18, the drinking age dropped to 18 in Quebec. Pat and Red Hot were the house band at 'The Chaud' -- at the Green Door bar. I saw him play countless times that summer and over the years, and before he ever got to the point in story about playing a Hagstrom Swede....I knew it was coming because that's the guitar he was playing in 1972. Red Hot were a great bar band, and Pat is a great player....and his story brought back some good memories for sure.

Man, I'd be fucking upset too Pat... I used to love your LP Juniors dude. They were killer and I always thought they were a huge part of your sound man. My friend and mentor - Eddie "Rex" Misenti taught me everything and you were a huge part. Those LP Juniors and your overall tone were insane. He turned me on to Putting em Straight and it was a life changer man... I am just so glad that you are still out there doing your thing because you are one of the best Pat - and that is for real !!!!

I picked PT up at the Airport in Gulfport, MS and drove him to his gig in Biloxi back in 2003. I was the only guy not drunk and responsible enough at the time. He told me, "hey man, my bass player and drummer are coming in on a later flight. Are picking them up too"... I think he liked my van because I drove them all to the Airport the next day.

It really doesn't matter when Pat Travers is telling you what gear he has - it's not the stuff around you, it's the stuff INSIDE you. I've always loved his guitar sound and I did live through the 70's & 80's; humble guy with great chops, lyrics and musicality. He has paid his dues, in my opinion. Stand up guy, for sure.

I made payments on a restored 1969 SG at a pawn shop when I was a kid. Somehow, I still have it. Its had it's head stock snapped off of it 3 times! For real! Somehow, I had it repaired all three times. The last time, my dad, an amature wood worker, so he says, put a cooper dowel rod in it. It has never snapped again and stays in tune just as good as my other US made axes. What I really like too, is you can't really see where it was broke off unless you get a real close look at it. That's pretty amazing SG story and completely true. I still like to play it. Probably will till my last day. :^)

I have seen PT at the TEXXAS JAM and I have seen him play Breakers pool hall in Lewisville Texas where he knocked over his double cut Les Paul and broke the headstock. Wherever he played, Poor David's Pub in Dallas only had 50 people one time, he played his ass off and his sound was classic PT. The last time I saw him play , around Feb of 2015 he was drunk, sounded like shit and played like he did not give a fuck. It was sad. I hope he gets it together.EdT
