I loved this guy in the 70's, had all his first six album's. Now I can play some of his tunes, love it. I just wish he would've got more famous than he did. I remember seeing Aerosmith, Foreigner, Pat Travers, Ac-Dc and Van Halen in that order at Oakland Day on the Green in 1980's, what a show. Love ya Pat, keep rockin.

I never knew much about Pat Travers, other than "Snortin Whiskey" & a killer guitar player. But if it wasn't on the f.m. waves or one of my brothers albums I didn't have the resourses like today to Google him. Glad to finally put it together, what a great musician, singer, song writer.👍

I heard Pat's version of statesboro blues and went right out and bought the record-Makin' Magic. That was a really great record that Pat doesn't ever mention. Everyone who borrowed that record from me thought it was great-a really good rockin' record.

Pat is a good stand up guy. Met him when he came to stockton ca. We hung out few times. He was playing small spots like stockton rocks. I often wonder if he remembers how humble he and the band were to me. We party'd each time they came. His music speaks for it self Great R&R .

I wanted to know his feelings about Eddie Van Halen because i tend to agree with him... He's got to be talking about the tapping. Eddie's tapping was great; revolutionary. But when everybody began doing it then it began to rot at the core.

The last time I saw Pat was in 2010 at BB KINGS in N.Y.C.He had the Fidelis record out at the time. The coolest thing about Pat was when he n the band would come out on stage he would say and i quote, I'm Pat Travers and "I'm going to kick your ass" BTW he sure did. He also signed my CD. GOT to Hang with him for a minute or 2 after the show. Kool dude.👍🎸

I gave Pat a lift to the Cunard International after he played the Hammersmith Odeon many years ago! He had twin sisters in the back of the car! He said, as you can see, I’m gonna be a little tied up, but there’s an after gig party and your welcome to go! Oh what a night!

My guess is that Eddie "set the bar to a higher level" for guitar players but in reality Eddie's playing is just a different style, certainly not "better". Then all the silly hair bands came along and piggy backed off Eddie's style. Everyone's tone went to super hi gain, etc......They all forgot the blues which is which is what rock n roll is all based from. Hair bands and Van Halen turned rock n roll into pop music.

Eddie was his own. So many copied him in the 80s...the record companies went crazy pushing it and signing it like they do with every new taste. I would like to put it that way. If you think Eddie was all about tapping, then you do not know or understand every else about his solos and also his rhythm playing etc... tapping big part of his style, but he did much more.

@jimjd1969 I have been a P.T. fan since 1978 and have seen him in concert dozens of times- recently as 2017- I have met him several times talking with him, and my band Dr. Cranknstein opened for him in switzerland in 2008. I am also in good communication with ex P.T.B. member Kirk Mckim, who told me how he was"layed off" from the band- due to financial reasons- meaning Pat hired some cheaper newcomers, and currently has no 2nd. guitar player. so, I have been watchng Pat's career almost since it's begining, and have seen how it has gone "down-hill" so, all you wanna be P.T. experts- I give you all back a big- "shut up"- you don't know shit, except your blind admiration for a has-been guitar hero that once was, and now only plays shit gigs - living off his name, and gray and going bald old fans like yourselves..
