My son was a patient at Shriners in Sacramento for years and Pat Marita would visit the children in that hospital. A very sweet man. I had no idea he was a comedian

He was known as THE HIP NIP...You should hear the story he tells about REDD FOXX and how REDD FOXX helped and supported PAT and his family...
“Lesson not just karate only, lesson for whole life, whole life have a balance, everything be better” I learned alot from Mr Miyagi in original Karate Kid; didn’t know much of his life until now, sweet man he was RIP Pat Morita 🙏

I love his wax on, wax off, and his karate abilities.
I forgot Pat Morita was on Happy Days. The Karate Kid was a great movie back in the 80s. "Wax On, Wax Off." Thank you for another great video 😊
Redd Foxx helped a lot of people before they were famous in their time of need in Hollywood and no one came to his need when the IRS came knocking at his door to help what a shame.

Unfortunately… that’s usually the way the story always goes. That’s the reason why when you give someone something, it’s gotta be with no strings attached. That way when your generosity isn’t returned, you’re not too disappointed.
My dad knew Pat Morita before all the karate kid movies. He used to eat at the restaurant my dad worked at(L.g.t. vegas in mission hills,CA., my dad was the head chef and Pat would always order the same plate (new york steak with fries).
He was also in the movie Midway (1976 film) Midway, released in the United Kingdom as Battle of Midway, is a 1976 American war film that stared. Robert Wagner, Pat Morita
I was driving down the 10 freeway in LA. I turned and saw Pat Morita driving a Ford Pinto next me. First of all, that's Pat Morita! Second, it's a Pinto! What's he doing driving a Pinto?! Nobody back at the office believed me.
“Never Put Passion Before Principle. Even if Win, You Lose.” *Mr. Miyagi*
Living in Vegas as long as I did, it wasn’t uncommon to see Pat around town. He use to frequent a bar inside Main Street Station in downtown Vegas. My sister and her friend approached him one night at the bar, and he invited them to sit have a drink with him. They sat and talked for a couple hours while getting hammered. She said he was sweet and really funny.

Oh wow, I love stories like this one! I used to work someplace that i met famous people regularly.I met Red Fox in Vegas though when on vacation and gambled roght next to him all day!
My parents ran a nightclub in Sacramento in the 1970s thru early 1980s. I don’t recall them ever meeting Pat but his influence was definitely felt in Sacramento. When he died a lot of us in Sacramento were devastated. He had left California but I always felt he was part of California. He was what made learning about California Asian history so intriguing because he wasn’t just a funny guy he was someone who you could learn a lot from.

In fact Jordan Tom Hanks osier Sandy would come in my parents nightclub all the time but would deny at the time Tom was her brother as he was a nobody then. There were a few others that graced my parents club and my mom had a few bikers that worked as bouncers. This sad when Sacramento was turning into a major city from the former cow town it was.

@@nickadams2451 Victor Wong is Chinese American, not Japanese American. His parents are from China. They made him like a Japanese actor from the 3 ninjas trilogy.
Thank you, for all the backstory. What a great job you did.
Awe, precious Jah, he is such a sweet little doggy. He does great going on trips with you! ❤ It is so sad that he passed the way he did. Pat Morita. Thank you, Jordan.
I enjoyed this. I always like Pat Morita but did not know about his personal life. So many obstacles he overcame.

Subtler sense of who "Pat" was, thanks to this video. A rich, interesting, human and tender life and path, for sure. I hope you do get to meet his wife. That would be a great conversation, Jordan.

Which one? He left his first wife for the second.
In the late 70’s I use to visit my friend in Las Vegas. She took me by Red Foxx’s house once. He use to park the Sanford and Son ratty old truck right in front of his house. I understood it drove the neighbors crazy. 😂
I have such an appreciation for how you presented this video; and for how Jah kept you in line.

3500 dollars was a lot of money back then, the narration on Red Foxx' generosity and Pat Morita carrying it on forward was very very powerful.
Big fan of Pat & his wife is a client of my friend who is a hairdresser, he does her hair while she's at her vacation home in Long Boat Key. Awesome video!
Sad, Redd helped everyone but his headstone is so modest. Goes to show you. You can help others but it doesnt mean they will ever help you. The truth about life and the world is brutal. Wake up people. It doesnt pay to do the right things in life. Just never expect getting anything back for helping others. There is no reward for goodness other than what you take with yourself.

@@gianam8469 you misunderstood my post. There is no reward for goodness. But that is not why people do good deeds. To be rewarded? Yet you say i need God? You do good because it is right to do, not because u will always win or because of some big payoff. Maybe you need God.

Unfortunately he died totally broke. He wasn't good with taxes unfortunately, like so many creative people. The IRS should have special category of "really nice people who don't have to file".
Pat made the character Arnold he was awesome such talent. Back in the 60’s we went to visit my Dads brother and family I remember telling us kids to go outside and play as they wanted to listen to Redd Fox’s album I can still hear my Dad and Uncle laughing . Redd was well known for the “F” bombs in his comedy. Great vid Jordan
That was a awesome vlog! Much appreciated Jordan Ty for all you put into these amazing vlogs! Cheers friend.💛✌🤝
Love your videos Jordan keep up the good work! 😀
Pat used to hang out at the Peppermill Restaurant Bar on the Vegas Strip by the old Riviera Hotel. I used to run into him there all the time. The old bartenders could tell you stories.
Thank you as always. I really enjoy your adventures. I would never be able to go to all the places you travel to. It helps me see and hear about the people I knew from watching on TV. ❤✌️😎

What a wonderful vlog!! Pat Morita was a very talented guy. I didn't know a lot about the obstacles in his life.
He was a wonderful actor and comedian! Thank you for the up date on him and for your wonderful vlog you did and always do☺️

This was great thank you so much for this i loved it ❤ im a huge karate kid fan ❤️

You really put a lot of work into your videos I love them x
Wow!! I too never knew that Pat Morita was a stand up comedian! Loved him as Arnold on Happy Days, and Mr.Miyagi in Karate Kid.Thank you Jordan for making this amazing vlog!!❤ I hope you get to interview his wife sometime in the future! 😊
Jordan, your videos are so well thought out and enjoyable!!! Thank you for the hard work!!! Just found your channel😊. Keep up the great work!!! Safe travels!!!
Another top notch video!
You make me feel younger because I totally agree with you JTL. I too never imagined Morita was actually a comedian. He owned the role of “Myagi” and pretty much everyone in the USA loved him in that role - there really could b no other player. The karate kid may never have become so iconic without him either I think. This was despite me watching Sanford and Son re runs a lot. I never recognized him in those shows until this video. Thanks
Love Pat and Redd both, miss them 💜 lovely to see Mr. Jah as always!🥰🤗😍 Thanks Jordan!
Just another great video by Jordan ❤️💙❤️
That little tail wagging melts your heart ❤

Enjoyed again Jordan Jah
Great video!
Amazing stories, thanks Jordan!
I heard Pat Morita tell how generous Red Fox was to him.
Details and facts! You are the master, Jordan. Thank you.
I don’t know if you’ve ever listen to the commentary on the karate kid DVD. Pat is on that along with Ralph John Alividsen, and Robert Mark Karmen. It’s incredibly entertaining.
Love you and Jah! Love your content!
What a great video, thank you 😊
Great backstory on Pat’s life. Your research made this a very interesting video. Thank you!
I always learn something new your videos. I'd love to take a road trip and visit movie locations. Keep up the great content.

Great vlog. Thank you for telling Pat's story. I remember him from Happy Days. You and Jah take care.
I just moved to Vegas in November and I have really enjoyed your stories about the city.
This was very cool , takes me back to my childhood 84 was a big year for alot of movies . especially karate kid . the famous wax on wax off mr. miyagi . great classic movie to watch . l didnt realize Pat had a long standing career before karate kid . back then it seems alot of people like Red Foxx was a generous guy and watched out for each other.thank you jordan an Jah for this great vlog
great video
Thanks for sharing. Love Karate Kid and Mr. Miyagi.
GREAT VIDEO!!!!!!!!
Hello from Palm Springs California 🇺🇸 Thanks again for your amazing work 👍😁✌️♥️👁️
Hear is the deal, Pat is not in a cemetery. His ashes were to be scattered somewhere off Peabody road between Fairfield Ca and Vacaville Ca. The location is secret. After Pat was cremated his urn was brought through Fairfield Ca in a HUGE precession that closed down most of the town. I was there when this happened and paid my respects to Pat as he passed My Store location on Travis Blvd on his way through town and out to somewhere on Peabody.
Cool story. Cool vlog. Love your dedication, Jordan. Shoutout from this longhaired country boy in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Bless you. Go w/ God. Peace and love.
Interesting video. I enjoyed it.
Great vlog Jordan! Loved Mr. Morita, he was very funny! My favorite was Arnold
…this was great Jordan ! prob saw Pat on Tonight Show since i was already old when Happy Days and Karate Kid appeared…the Sally Marr connection and marriage to Lenny’s cousin is already so interesting and then add Red Foxx into the mix! had no idea…what very good men both of them…
You are looking super cool Jordan! With those shades!!!
Awesome thanks I enjoyed watching I didn't know that About him he had a drinking problem
Great coverage of a life well lived. All I gotta say is, “f**k addiction”. I've worked in the field for awhile and it's unfortunately a tough beast to endure. For a few of us, we tame it....but it rears its ugly head and destroys. Thanks for a well thought out video, Jordan. ❤
Thanks Jordan.....And calm Jah down, he's too excited being in Vegas!
Amazing
Love the RED FOX story ,what a sweet man helping PAT
Terrific!
I remember Pat as Arnold on Happy Days. Funny guy, glad his life turned out well, eventually.
Hi Jordan and JAH.✌️. Thank you for telling Mr Morita story. Didn't know about his childhood or his struggles. I always thought he was a nice lovable guy. Thanks for all the info you have enlighten is with. I have more respect for Redd Foxx now. Knowing what he did for Pat. Redd was a Good Guy. I never judge nobody, because you never know what a person has gone through. Thank you for telling Pats early childhood. I think I've learned more here than in any info that I have read. I have much Respect for Mr Pat Morita. Jordan you really research the people and places you talk about.👍👏👏👏. You the Man Jordan, I hope you know how much we Lionheart's Appreciate you.👏👏👏. Looks like JAH is enjoying Vegas.😊. Again Thanks Jordan.👍. We give this Vlog a A Plus. Love, respect and positivity always. Vee, Andrew and Family.✌️🖖🕯️💕🦋🌠🌻👾🌌🙂👋👣.
Great. Video I'm a fan ove them both
Jah says I have fun wherever my dad is.❤️❤️❤️🐾🐾🐾
Ya had to figure the Pat was a comedian by the way he acted, great man, loved him ty for this vlog, I knew Redd Fox 🦊 was a great guy and you proved it ty Jordan🐾😎
Rumor has it Redd Foxx’s last home off Eastern & Sandhill is a well known haunted location. Reports of a mischievous ghost apparently😂It became a real estate office at one point.
I met him. He was nice. He was an engineer before he was a comedian and actor. My dad worked with him.
Awesome video. RIP Pat. Great actor
Very interesting thanks for sharing 👍
Good video 🥰
Great story with Redd and Pat!
I'd like to share a moment of kindness that Fred Sanford showed to Grady. I went like this..."Fred! Can you loan me five dollars?" Fred said, "You caught me at a bad time, Grady." and as Grady lowered his head down , Fred said, "Because I got it." Too hilarious.
I would love to find a small dog like Jah! His temperament is perfect. So cute!! 💕
Good video.
