That's so sad. We've become such a throwaway society: get rid of the old and replace it with new, instead of repairing and working with something and making it beautiful again. Her soul will always be part of that property.

I am sorry, Jordan! In my life I have seen so many homes, buildings and landscapes destroyed. It is all so sad. My Dad and Mom were out there in the 1930s and early 1940s. Their descriptions of lemon and orange groves; old California were awesome. Not much of it left or respected. Thank you, for the update!

Some of my mother's family were CA orange and lemon growers, and others worked on an old cattle and horse ranch that is long gone as are many of the little citrus farmers. It's all corporate big ag and south of the border crime there now, pretty much.

I know she helped shape the person you are today. We meet people for a reason or a season, and she greatly affected you and so many during her long career and life. I'm sad to see LA changing. She always seemed to take care of everyone in her life. I love how fiercely she talks about how Marilyn was intelligent and strong. That's not how the media sees her, but Shelly knew differently. Hope your family is doing ok.

Shelley's prediction regarding her home being demolished was (sadly) correct. However, your respect, friendship and love for Shelley has led you to produce several vlogs on the location, the design and the good memories she shared with in those walls. Thanks to you Shelley's home will live on in Hollywood history long after the new construction that will replace it has turned to dust. Many thanks for sharing all your amazing memories of Shelley.

Jordan's vids have changed my originally (& based on very little) impression of Winters. I read an account where someone claimed they had seen Winters at a coffee-shop type restaurant late one night. The observer described her as acting like a (to paraphrase) jerk. The person said it was sad to see a major celebrity end up like that. Based on very little, it affected my image of the actress. But the way Winters kept her parents in her life &, more recently, Jordan, is a reminder that anecdotal stories are either outright false or capture only a small glimpse of any person. Even if true, just about all people have their lousy moments & on occasion will act like an a--h---. Shelly's good side certainly must have outweighed any idiosyncrasies she had---which most folks have too.

I am from England, I respected shelly. But during that interview with shelly and Oliver Reed I'm afraid to say she was bang out of line. She constantly interupted the interview, she poured whisky over him to mock him. How dare she! Everyone knew Oliver had demons with alcohol, how dare she do such a thing. She wanted that interview all about her when it was a Oliver reeds interview. He was fine actor, he had his demonds, I am proud to be Brittish, and proud of our actors who infulance you Americans.

Back in the early 80's I worked on Little Santa Monica Bl. installing mobile phones in cars. Well done Jordan. Growing up in this area from the 1950s through the 1980s with all these stars, I would meet many either on a sidewalk, Pat Paulson, or driving a Red Cadilac through an alley, Harvey Korman. Just to name a few I have met. Sad to see her home gone now. Yes, it would have been nice to get a part of it as a wonderful memento. You made her life a little happier each time you visited an aging star and she gave you many memories to share with us. So sad to hear this. I know how much she meant to you, not just as a fan of old Hollywood, but since you GENUINELY knew her and befriended her in her later years. It’s understandable that those feelings would transfer to an inanimate object like her house. You’re a sensitive person and pick up on these things, and that’s why we all enjoy your videos and the true passion you show on all your adventures. Been a fan since I ran into your vids long ago, talking about Bukowski’s old haunts. She was accidentally locked out of her room after a day's shoot, and was just sitting on the hallway floor in front of her room. When we first offered her help, we didn't know it was Shelley. She was appreciative and nice, and acted just like any other person locked out of a room by accident (except that most people probably wouldn't sit down on the hallway floor.)

Hi Jordan, how sad that Shelly house is already gone. We know progress in the making. It's very cool that you did become friends with her. All the great memories that you have of her no one will be able to ever take that away. It's amazing the people we get to meet in this world and the wonderful impression she made on you. At least you got a chance to see it before it was gone and now that it is gone you also had a chance to see that as well. Happy Adventures

That’s so sad they’re getting rid of all the wonderful talents of our time and destroying the history of such amazing people and Shelley was definitely one of them she was so beautiful and so talented I loved watching her in everything she played in . Although , I’d never met her in person but I think she put a lot of herself into every character that she portrayed and that made her the beautiful actress that she became . Thank you for sharing your memories of this amazing lady she was definitely one of a kind .

I lived a few doors down from here on Oakhurst Drive from age 6 to 11 in the 1950s. I remember her house at the end of the street. Kim Novak lived in an apartment at the other end of the block.

Aww man such a bummer, i was really looking forward to one last tour of her house, would've been so cool to catch the vibe of the actual places associated with the memories you kindly shared with us. Oh well, i have a good imagination and you're a good storyteller, thank you for the update even if it's not what we were hoping for.

One of my dreams was to own Pickfair. I would have bought furniture of the time period, and would have been so happy to allow tourists in to view the rooms Mary and Doug walked in, sat in, had company in. I'd LOVE to have a home that tourists would want to visit, due to it's old Hollywood connection. And yes, I'm used to it - in Canada, my dad still lives in the large Tudor home he built, and since I was a baby, we had strangers on the weekend pull into the driveway to see and talk about the house. And that never bothered me. To have tourists visit my home some old Hollywood star lived in would be so wonderful - in keeping them and their old house alive in people's consciousness. I was absolutely heartbroken to read that Pia Zadora and husband Riklis tore Pickfair down.
